herbie Posted March 31 Report Posted March 31 So gas prices began rising this week in Atlantic Canada, and today stories from Vancouver tell of prices shooting up as much as 25¢ a litre, days before the 17¢ cut by the Apr 1 removal of the carbon tax. Not that anyone should be surprised, they've been prepping us with tales of soon to happern changeover to 'summer blends' and comments regardin how the boycott on US travel will boost demand due to in Canada vacationing. SO much for any 'savings'. Really sad to say "I told you so" But the revenue from the hated, driving you penniless, making your loaf of bread cost $1 more to deliver, didn't stop CHina polluting carbon tax will now go to corporate wallets instead of available to fund you govt. I'm sure you'll all be happy about that. https://globalnews.ca/video/11100354/metro-vancouver-gas-price-spike-raising-questions-about-carbon-tax Quote

So of course it's not going to have the impact we wanted to see. You can ALWAYS trust the liberals to even screw up something like NOT taxing the bejeezuz out of people 2 Quote
herbie Posted March 31 Author Report Posted March 31 Too brainwashed with bullshit to comprehend that if you remove 17¢ worth of tax, the price should go down 17¢. Stand up for the right of OTHER people to rip you off as much as they can, dream one day you can be one of them. Quote

Hate to break it to you but carbon tax is actually a compounding tax, and with fuel price fluctuatons you may not see that at all. Or you might theoretically see an even greater reduction, but that's not likely. Quote

herbie Posted April 1 Author Report Posted April 1 Yes the so-called leftist MSM is pumping out every damn excuse they can to cover the ripoff. THe change to summer gas is not happening TODAY and sure as hell didn't happen two days ago. They're feeding it to you now, so they can feed it to you again at the end of April. You'll all have forgotten by then. They're also feeding BS about 'the war in Yemen" that hasn't affected Alberta oil, and "the tariifs" that apply to s different f*cking country as more lame excuses. And people are swallowing it. Quote

herbie Posted April 1 Author Report Posted April 1 So as of this morning, GasBuddy reported average gas prices had fallen THREE CENTS after the removal of 18¢ carbon tax. By noon it was A NICKEL. But here some are, justifying increases because the switchover to summer gas is coming up soon. Heading out soon to see if they fell to 148.9 here, otherwise I'll make sure it's top news on the local community FB group. 1 Quote

Sorry kiddo but the libs are still taxing the people who make the gas.... doubt we'll see a reduction. Quote

herbie Posted April 2 Author Report Posted April 2 Well lucky us, The average price in town dropped 18¢ Too bad for them, Foxy woulda been happy with the nickel. And other ximps coulda dreamed up more imaginary scenarios to justify how hard done by the oil companies are. Quote

herbie Posted April 2 Author Report Posted April 2 It's clear these mor0ns will accept anything Big Business says as God's truth. If they say prices had to go up 25c because your Granny put on brown shoes this morning, they'll defend that to their deaths. unnnggghhh the removal of the tax made the price drop, so demand went up instantly so we had to increase prices. We knew that it probably would even before, so we were forced to raise prices days before. But you should see grocery prices drop as the delivery fuel costs drop, but not noticeable drop on gasoline delivery trucks because we're forced to pocket that too because some war, some time, somewhere will make prices increase. Just like how any US tariffs on Alberta oil mean we'll force price hikes in Canada to maintain profit levels. Oh but all that's so much better than so much as a penny going to the govt that benefits everyone because some other guy might benefit from my penny. Quote

He's already said he's keeping C-69 aka the no more pipelines bill. He is committed to net-zero for Canada while he has invested in pipelines in other countries. Goddess Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 In my city, about a week before the carbon tax was to be eliminated on gas, prices went up 10 cents a litre. So now they are only about 3 cents below what they were before. This is definitely gouging.
