Tribes have been migrating all over the Earth since the beginning of mankind. The Jewish people were the first to settle in the Holy Land IIRC. Then the Romans took control, then the Islamic empire took over, then the Ottomans, and finally the British. The Jews just returned to land that once belonged to them. The Palestinians were never really a distinct group until very recently, as most migrated to the Holy Land in the early 20th century. Quote
