That was the playbook for the Trump/Russia lies. They sent the information to newspapers and then used the fact that newspapers were even reporting on it to convince a judge it was real. But it was a lie the whole time and the wire tap warrant was based on a fraud.

Yes. All that "Christian Nationalist" talk was just cover for the fbi to spy. They likely get the IRS after the US churches to make sure they have filed the right form for the toilet paper and coffee pods for a Sunday morning.
