@Venandi

"The freedom to do just that was already bought and paid for, yours by right of birth and all ya had to do in order to keep it was..... nothing.

It's breathtaking to me that people are simply incapable of minding their own business and leaving others alone."

Absolutely.

People seem to me to think that they're owed a version of the public sphere that they are agreeable with.  The fact is, you're going to be uncomfortable with way things are.  Hollywood, Madison Avenue and Washington/Ottawa will gladly construct a mythology for you, and if you're gullible you might believe it.

It's not true.

The only connection with others is your humanity and the Public sphere that we have built to try to make a better life for all.

You are such a funny, thilley boy. Would you like for Mr Canada to go over to your place sometime and let him show you as to what he can do to you behind your back? I bet that you would love to find that out, hey, you thilley boy? Bend over, rover. 🤣

Well this is just bizzarre.

GOP are homophobic, but not as much as Hamas.

I think on issues like gay rights, you could probably slip a piece of paper between the beliefs of a Hamas member and those of the median GOP voter.

Cool, finally something that I can agree with.

Sometimes picking sentences at random adds a level coherence that would otherwise be missing.

Good Lord, I sometimes wonder if we've collectively (and irretrievably) lost the middle ground and are doomed to stagger back and forth between the extremes.

That's the way it has always been since politics became a formalized process many many centuries ago.

One side becomes polarized, most often the side that believes in authoritarian ideology. The other side will become polarized in response and push back. The first side pushes back against the pushback and on it goes.

Most 'empires' or powerful countries last about 300 years and change and then they collapse and either vanish or become severely reduced and a shadow of their former selves (or get a massive reboot into something different).

It starts off on one side with 'i believe this thing" and morphs into "everyone should believe this thing" and becomes "i need the power to make everyone believe this thing."

On the other side it starts off with "those guys are wrong to believe that thing" and morphs into "I need to protect myself from those who believe different things and want me to believe their things"  and becomes "I need to control everything so that people can't control me and make me believe things against my will" .

That's just the way things are.

My gay friends have to be very careful where they go on vacation. There are many anti gay countries. Bringing up Hamas is just stupid as they are far from being alone in theoir attitude.

The discussion was about gay people supporting Hamas. Maybe you need to take your pills.

1. Yeah, so why is this hilarious for people who don't like "the left" ?  Quote intentional.

2. As in "they disagree with civilians being bombed whether they're homophobic or not" ?  Well, then good for them I guess.  I also don't want people I disagree with to die horribly.  Maybe it's a real chuckle for some, I don't know.

Because it's moronic. It's like the Jews demanding the Allies stop bombing Germany and halt their invasion because civilians are dying there.

No, the topic is "Gay Pride Season." and I addressed that.

Sorry you missed it LOL

All people should be equal before the law (even though I don't believe all people are equal as I believe in evolution, some more some less evolved), but it make me upset when a tiny minority tries to take advantage of the laws meant to protect them by victimizing themselves or governments having special treatments when it comes to employment or hate laws.

Yes I do believe in gay pride  and right but not in super-rights. Everybody should be proud of what she or he is.

I think that there's a case for it.

And you either allow various levels of rights or you don't.  There are cases where people get into fights with plainclothes cops and get extra punishment.

Just having a little fun at your leftist expense, thilley boy. But so far i have found out about you is that you hate your white skin. It terrifies you to death the thought that someone has suggested that there should be a White History Month and that it could happen one day. Oh so scary. You are a gay boy lover. You represent all that is of a left wing liberal Marxist bent and you truly are a pile of bat crap.

What is bizarre is that you cannot even spell the word bizarre properly, princess. Just saying. 😁

Its uncanny.

Presumably the alleged piece of paper that you could wedge between there would be the last will and testiment?

No one is forcing the OP or like minded individuals to celebrate it in any way. I do not attend gay pride parades. I know that for 6 hours out of an entire year.. a 4 block radius in downtown Reno (which I mostly avoid) is going to be unavailable.

Well, here it is an entire month all over the city.

Forcing... maybe not.

You certainly can't force me, but I don't like to see people who don't share those values pressured either, and it doesn't matter who they are.

IMO, liberals and Muslims shamelessly used each other for political expediency, now that liberals are finding out that Muslims don't actually share their woke values, their heads are exploding.

It's becoming far too common a question for the woke crowd: "what did you think was going to happen"?

So never mind forcing, there should be no pressure and no coercion either.

The sort of pressure applied is usually more subtle than in the video, but it's also more common in the school system than many think.

Who said anything about shutting down an entire city?? Except you?

I said "here it is an entire month all over the city." about Pride in response to events that are 6 hours in Reno.

The poster you were responding to was talking about places being unavailable aka shut down for 6 hours.

Where are you that they don't?  Pride events are all over every major city for the month, most of teh schools have events and flags and such, pretending that's not a thing that happens is pretty dishonest
