The fact that one of them happens to involve medicine is hardly surprising Also the individual states currently legislate regulation on all kinds of medical issues such as drugs and what proceedures are covered by various plans and such. It's a nothing of an argument. The individual states already all have legislation governing healthcare and this is just part of that parcel. Different states have different laws for everything. Like it or not the constitution doesn't cover medical procedures. You have no constitutional right to a colonoscopy. There's no amendment that ensures your right to a vasectomy or tummy tuck. The US Constitution specifically states that the states can write their own laws regarding alcohol possession and distribution, specifically: ”The transportation or importation into any State, Territory, or possession of the United States for delivery or use therein of intoxicating liquors, in violation of the laws thereof, is hereby prohibited.” You might need to read that a few times to make sense of it, but what it says that the Constitution prohibits transportation or possession of alcohol is illegal wherever it is prohibited by law by that State, territory or possession.
