The diversity in life is not skin colour, religion, language, orientation - it is age.

We all must live amongst people of different ages.

In a sustainable society, old people live with children. Kittens bother older cats.

Life is a process.

You miss my point.

Life is not a highway. Life is a road-trip.

One hit, albeit a good one.

It's all of those things.

But it's especially money and its attendant power.  I can change my skin colour, religion, language, orientation, gender ... and effective age ... with enough money.

You completely redefined what is normally meant by the phrase “diversity of life”.

You took a term we all learn in grade 8 biology class referring to biological diversity and mangled it to fit some social construct you happen to like.  Although, I would point out that in our N.American culture we tend to jam our old folks into communal living apartments when they become a pain to deal with.

Don’t tell posters here you admire the Chinese treatment of elderly family, or you’ll be called a commie.

Why do you feel the need to redefine terms?

It’s only about the material with you.  You’re a true Marxist.

Okay Treebeard (just hazarding a guess here), but much legislation is based on more than just generating wealth from production.  We are more than workers and owners of production.  Man does not live on bread alone.

Why do you think we’re the same person?  @Michael Hardner is a Christian who describes himself as a conservative.   I don’t ascribe to either, for the most part.

Michael is a Christian?  A conservative?

I’ve seen him describe himself that way.  He seems to at least have an affinity for religion and holding onto societal moors of the past. But that’s something for you to argue with him about.

I’m just wondering why you would assume we’re the same poster. That seemed weird.

eYou can't possibly be. These people have defined you out of both categories. Like they have to the vast majority of normal Canadians.

Zealots. Your either with us 100% of the way or your agin' us 100%. Politics is the art of refusing to compromise at all, isn't it?

Technically life is a cul de sac.

The closer you get to that end, the more you're aware to make the most of the scenic road you are on, vs worrying of what you can't control.

Like speeding drivers, or those who realized driving in that slow lane and taking things in works best for them.

Socially speaking, we are seeing an insane amount of traffic violation agents, red light cameras and speed mitigation practices trying to dictate almost everything virtually up to how we sit in our cars.

Steve Jobs famously said that death is the ultimate change agent.

My point was different.

Diversity? Life itself forces us to live among different beings.

Some are bouncing kittens, others older tired cats.

In another month or so my grand-kids will be up for a visit.  Life's also a logging road to go ripping up and down untethered in the back of papa's pick-up while screaming your heads off.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

Well said.

In finance, they say: diversify.

Life itself has its own way to force us to diversify. We are forced to live among people of different ages.

But there's a drive to separate us, to have us divided into designed subgroups which are increasingly defined in blurry ways.

Progressives vs chuds... but in the real, non rhetorical world, we are all citizens with a hand on the public sphere.
