Well, the evidence is clear that you are conflating religious people engaged in normal faith activities with a "cult" by selectively choosing pictures that are quite obviously religious folks engaged in prayer or other worship type activity.

We could spam this forum with pictures of folks from church rallies and other more religious gatherings all doing similar to someone like Obama.

It's not Trump that makes these pictures hilarious though. It's knowing the pious righteous people gathering around him are perfectly happy to be seen with a lying philandering rapist.

The golden statue pic was a joke. He was doing the Wayne's World "we're not worthy" for a meme. The second pic was a guy in India that was happy Trump called out India for hiding the slums from the public eye.

Nobody else does these things. Where else do people say “oh I liked that one random irrelevant thing the politician said’ I think I will build a shrine to him and worship it”?

Selective memory?

Then there was this fan boy that has been scrubbed from the internet:

That's evidence of A Hindu doing a "Hindu thing", and some freaks.

It is kind of alarming; however, it's not evidence of people denying reality and treating blatant facts like zombie germs.

If CNN gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.

If you missed something on the Cultist Narrative Network, don't worry, the dolt horde here will make sure everyone hears it.

Their daily cultist post is formulaic, and goes like this:

[Country name] + [conservative leader] + [accusation of fascism] + [supporting facts bogus timeline]

They think that they can just use a timeline to sneak their Chicken Little premise across the road, and it absolves them of the need for facts.

"Facts? We don't need no stinking facts!"

Examples:

  • Trump + USA + Authoritarianism + Quickly -> Trump is establishing authoritarian control of the USA quickly
  • Poilievre + Canada + Slavery + Gradual -> Poilievre will gradually turn Canada into a vassal-state of his idol, Trump

The proof's all in the timeline for them. They figger that just mentioning that there's a timeline is proof positive that something is actually happening.

"Conservative IQ's are gradually lowering, due to the incessant propaganda barrage in the MSM and on social media, to the point where everyone will be liberal by 2035."

TBH, I do worry what happens to my brain when my eyes are constantly swimming in shit here.

All political parties could be classified as cults. They are united in message due to trying to achieve something through numbers. Of course, they steadfastly hold to certain ideas and policies. If you did not, your constituency would rightfully find you to be wavering and therefore weak. Also, this is how you get your legislation passed.

I don't think that's accurate. Political parties have typically coalesced around a political direction and a subset of core objectives--all subject to change over time in response to the priority of memberships. In a two-party system like we have in the US, that has typically meant broad and diverse values even within parties. People are aligned because "this" party better represents their views that "that" party. These are practical, pragmatic alliances.

The idea of a "cult" though has heavy connotations around singularity of belief and purpose and often "worship" of a charismatic leader. It's not a pragmatic relationship, but one of "true believers" unified by purity and fervor. You can spot plenty of (typically ugly) examples in world history, but by my estimation the US has only twice been threatened by cultism. The first was the reverence for George Washington, who was offered a kingdom and had the vision to turn it down and re-vest power in the people. The second is this bizarre Trump takeover of the Republican party, which above all things prioritizes loyalty to the individual rather than to any set of values. That's why there's such chaos and whiplash. It's all the fervor of true belief, but belief in the individual (and whatever nonsense he says on a given day) rather than unifying principle. And unfortunately, unlike Washington, they are devoted to a man who will claim as much "kingship" as he can manage to acquire.

So how do you explain people being adamant that Kamala Harris was a serious candidate for the presidency?

I think that even you can admit that she was an absolute failure as a border czar. The US economy was not good under Biden. She refused to answer any questions for 75 days, then when she talked to reporters she just said "I grew up in a middle-class neighbourhood" and filibustering...

Only an actual cultist would see any value in her as a president. Only a cultist.

Now your "THE SKY IS FALLING!" cult is killing off Tesla....

Why?

She just happened to be a vastly better option than her opponent.

And, as you refuse to acknowledge for purely partisan reasons, the economy was strong under Biden--the envy of the world--and dramatically better than the mess he inherited from Trump.

I guess because you don't like trans people (or whatever) you have to pretend it was a bad economy. Doesn't make sense to me, but you persist.

Or maybe... you guys are so obsessed with transing the kids and forcing men into women's spaces and sports, you don't care what it costs you.

But you persist.

No, she was not the vastly better option either and no, the economy was not that strong either.

Based on what? Her failures as VP?

Can you name any of her successes as VP? If so, then your secret is a little late in coming, because such information could have vastly helped her campaign.

More cultist BS....

"The economy randomly faltered under Trump... Covid had nothing to do with it!"

To say that you are refusing to acknowledge something, doesn't cut it... you're being a vile little liar.

Keep making things up, weasel.

So far, your comments today can be summed up thusly: "Yeah but you believe in flat earth and you hate trans people  😭", while neither statement has any basis in reality.

It's almost like you want to prove that you're a cultist but you're being coy about it.

You've been shown the economic data many, many times. I don't know whether you can't read a chart or compare numbers, but it doesn't seem to sink in. The Biden economy was a strong economy. That's simply plain fact. We had the best recovery in the G7 and any country would have happily traded for our figures.

I didn't refuse to acknowledge anything. Yes, COVID was a crushing blow to the Trump economy--but some of that crush was Trump's preparation and failure to meet the moment. At any rate, it doesn't change the fact that Biden took over a crushed economy and oversaw a best-in-class recovery with metrics as good or better than even Trump's pre-COVID economy.

Trump inherited a strong economy and did not change the trajectory--and he left it a mess. Biden inherited a mess, and left it a strong economy. I know which legacy I'd rather have.

Meanwhile, you can see Trump's economic sense playing out right now. He wasn't an economic genius in term 1 who turned into an ignoramus. He's always been this dumb. He just got rid of the adults that used to curb his childish impulses in term 1.

That's the pattern. Republicans ruin the economy, Democrats repair. Then because it takes a few years for the turn-around, Republicans can blame it on the Dems to get re-elected.
