This is simple math even you can do. How many children would have been killed if the October 7th attack had not happened? Zero. So how many that did die are a result of the attack? All of them.

It's too bad you weren't running Hamas. There might be a hell of a lot more people alive.

Unfortunately what Hamas wanted was a high body count. Traditionally they put some rockets on hospitals and schools, shoot rockets at Israel, isreal attacks back and kills a bunch of  the civillians they're hiding behind, and they go running to the UN and get a ceasefire and then get all kinds of political concessions. It's happened many times now. 

However this time they screwed up. The attack was so vicious and violent and horrific that nobody was going to hold Israel back this time.

Hamas had no choice but to continue to hide behind civilians hoping that they could convince the world that something terrible was happening and they should force Israel to stop. They keep letting the bodies pile up in the hopes that the sheer numbers would win them sympathy.

Unfortunately by the time that happened many tens of thousands were deadtheir country is in rubble. 

They badly miscalculated but by the time they realized that it was too late and they didn't know what to do.

Canadian and American soldiers killed children and babies in Afghanistan and Iraq, and all these murders went unpunished. The generals excuse themselves by saying they didn’t do it on purpose, but when you target a building or a house without really knowing who is inside, it’s as if you did it on purpose. Everything you do here is disinformation. Canadian soldiers killed children in Afghanistan and they must be tried and sentenced to life in prison. I think you'd be surprised by the efforts taken at the command level to mitigate collateral damage. I'd also suggest that "collateral damage" isn't the euphemism you seem to think it is.

In any TOC or CAOC there is an entire (24/7) cell dedicated to this... in addition to limiting civilian casualties, it also advises on potential infrastructure issues... roads, pipelines, underground water/sewage, electrical supply etc. There's also JAG reps on hand during deliberate attacks to advise on the legal aspects of the Law of armed conflict and they are red card holders. 

In future, Israeli efforts in Gaza will come to be seen as a model for high density operations with an entrenched enemy willing (I'd say dedicated and eager) to using human shields at every opportunity. This is manifestly illegal by any interpretation of law, morality or ethics, it's deliberate, premeditated, and orchestrated... it complicates everything and it isn't an accident. You seem to be deliberately ignoring this. 

What actually qualifies as disinformation is the suggestion that this isn't true, that it isn't taken seriously, and that it doesn't result in numerous deliberate attacks being modified or aborted.

Don't worry. When the time comes, Gaza will be rebuilt, due largely to billions that continually flow from Western nations.
