Trump indicted by grand jury on 2020 election interference

Trump indicted by grand jury on 2020 election interference: Live updates

Quote

Former President Donald Trump was criminally charged Tuesday in connection with his efforts to reverse his loss to President Joe Biden in 2020.

The charges mark the unprecedented third criminal indictment against the former president since he launched his latest bid for the 2024 Republican nomination. No other U.S. president, current or former, has ever faced criminal charges.

The election probe was led by special counsel Jack Smith, who also oversaw a separate investigation into Trump’s retention of classified documents at his resort home Mar-a-Lago after leaving the White House in 2021. Trump, in June, was charged with 37 counts related to his alleged efforts to conceal those records from the government. He received additional charges in the case last week, stemming from an alleged effort to delete surveillance footage from the Palm Beach club.

If Trump has been indicted for lying to overturn the 2020 election then how many people are going to be indicted for lying to overturn the 2016 election? Comey, Strzok, Chuck Schumer, Killary, Pelosi, Clinesmith, the rest of the FBI, Schumer, Don Lemon, Schumer, Fredo Cuomo, Chuck Schumer, Sussman, Killary, Schumer, Killary, Rachel Maddow, Schumer, Lawrence O'Donnell, Killary, Chuck Schumer, 2,000 various guests on CNN and MSNBC, Chuck Schumer again, everyone at CNN & MSNBC, etc. Oh, and Chuck Schumer.

Trump had four solid years to get his Justice Department to do that.  They couldn’t find any evidence of a crime.

So… either there was no crime, or Trump appointed incompetent people, or the Democrats were just too smart to leave any evidence.  Which is it? No crime, Republican incompetence, or Democratic brilliance?

This will only further strengthen the resolve of those who want Trump to lead again, those who hate what the liberals are doing.

Right now polls are almost dead even, just depends how much they are lying.

That's why the vitriol will just increase between now and the election, until Donald Trump faces over 1000 years of jail time.

But that won't stop him either. He'll just keep coming.

Trump... will... not... go... away

Will be hard to run/serve for President from a prison cell.

Unfortunate that you just whine about his butthurt MAGA CULT instead of acknowledging the CRIMES that took place.

Sorry but Trump doesn't get to STEAL 80M votes against him.

Trump and his supporters have millions of dollars and will use it to stall, delay and obfuscate the court cases. They are too late already.

When Trump runs for president, he will also be running for his very freedom. That's why, he has no choice other than to become the president.

He cannot pardon himself for convictions in New York State or Georgia State. He’s already been indicted or over thirty felonies in New York and Georgia is going to charge him this month.  Trump has burned through $60 million in legal fees this year alone.  If you’ve been paying attention — the man files innumerable legal motions, which slow down the legal process, but cost a fortune. He may indeed spend more cash than he raises.

Donald Trump is now charged with a total of 76 felonies, and more are to come.

Yeah I know. I wasn't kidding when I said by the time the election rolls around, he'll be facing up to 1000 years of jail time.

Hell, maybe they will give him capital punishment. Have no doubt they are already calling for it now.

That won't buy him votes. His only hope is VOTER SUPPRESSION and we're wise to that.

Former President Donald Trump's once-formidable and lucrative political action committee is down to $3 million on hand while committees allied with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and President Joe Biden have well over $100 million combined ready to deploy, new data shows….

Of course it doesn’t help that Trump and his cronies have been using their PAC as their own private slush fund,  dolling out hundreds of thousands to Melania and her hairdresser for example  Their lavish lifestyle has been funded by the gullible simpletons who follow them

They can get more $$. People who are fed up with government will pony up. The malcontents.

You know, deplorables. ;)

Nah, there's a decent chance Trump will go away for a stretch.

I'm no legal expert or anything, but one way to deal with it is by delaying these cases. Trump will go into the election with hundreds of charges on his head, facing thousands of hours of jail time. For Trump, being re-elected president is existential. The man who must be president, or be executed by firing squad.

It doesn't matter that he gets convicted, just having the charges against him is a political advantage to the left. It will not stop Trump, and may actually bolster his appeal.

Wth? Just "advantage"? The acts, undermining democratic institutes, principles, laws don't matter anymore? Any crack who decides that they deserve to be elected automatically gets delayed or suspended prosecution for anything they did?

This is a fine illustration of the problem. Extreme and unconditional polarization. My tribe wins at all and any cost. Principles, democracy, laws, sanity itself, nothing matters more than a win. The destination.

No: any one who pushes the button for a patented, known crack should and will bear personal responsibility, real part of it, for the insanity and all the outcomes. The brain, responsibility and free will were given for a reason so no excuses.

But mind you: FPTP does the trick, sooner or later. Way too many examples to keep ignoring.

Please cite where Democrats conspired to do anything similar to what's accused in this indictment?

Did Hilary assemble a mob and sick them on the Capitol? Did she implore Biden to accept a separate set of Electors?

If he’s convicted in Georgia or New York State, even a Presidential pardon cannot help him.

Are you retarded? Kevin Clinesmith pleaded guilty to falsifying evidence to get a warrant to spy on Trump, then the whole FBI pretended not to notice while it was used over and over and over again.

Do you think that was just Clinesmith himself? Do you think that no one else in the FBI found out that Carter Page was a CIA asset?

Buddy, that email from the CIA didn't go directly to an FBI lawyer alone, it would have gone to an agent and was subsequently passed on to the lawyer in their evidence pckage: either Strzok, Comey or both of them saw the original email. It's 100% certain that crime was not Clinesmith's alone. Even if you argued that it was just him on the original application, that falsified evidence was re-used every time they reapplied for it.

The whole Alfa bank thing was bogus, and that was Hillary's baby. She got her lawyer to bring it to the FBI as a 'concerned citizen' even though he was on her payroll - he was paid to bring that to the FBI.

You know for a fact that the Dems and FBI committed crimes to try to kick Trump out of the WH you goddamned liar.

Dude, the man is charged with 78 felonies. That’s a LOT of crime.  The man was told not to do the things he did.  He knew he was breaking the law when he did these things. That’s why it’s a terrible idea to put him back into the White House.
