Read the law. I posted the law for you. The relevant section does not mention anything other than flag.

Soooo sorrry kiddo - you get to look stupid again ;)

(c) No other flag or pennant should be placed above or, if on the same level, to the right of the flag of the United States of America,

Do you see the words "society" or "state" or the like? no? Me neither

I can post the language from the law for you - and did - but i can't read it for you or understand it for you

And unfortunately you're too stupid to manage to do so for yourself :) LOLOLOL!!!

Hey, Jackass. That's not what was cited in the Twitter posts or the article, which is what Deluge and I were discussing. I said they were wrong. He said they weren't. Blah blah blah.  -- Of course they are wrong and the reporting is garbage.

You continue to want to talk about your interpretation, of a different section of the code than that which was cited in the article. That's your prerogative, but also entirely irrelevant to the erroneous reporting.

And as yesterday, the US flag appears to the left and the right. A. It's well established in the code what kind of flags they are referring to. B. That's clearly talking about a linear display, not a circular pattern with US flags in multiple positions. If your dumb interpretation were correct then US flags could never be displayed at a round table. It's nonsense. But you cling to it like a drowning man. Lame.

Hey Jackass - the code was cited in the twitter post and article - and that's what we're discussing.

Don't get mad at me just because you can't get your head around something this basic.  This was already explained to you in detail.  I'd have though you would be ashamed enough of your stupidity before to maybe think a little before speaking now but i can see that's not going to happen.

Gawd - if stupid was jet fuel you'd be supersonic.

This is definitely a 52>48 moment. Sigh.

Okay, slowpoke. Indeed, the article in the OP cited the flag code as follows:

"Fitton went on to cite US Flag Code §7. (e), which reads, “The flag of the United States of America should be at the center and at the highest point of the group when a number of flags of States or localities or pennants of societies are grouped and displayed from staffs.”

You do know what a citation is, right? Some even tweeted screenshots of the same, which were included in the article, which I also shared with you.

3 things are now obvious.

1. The Pride flag is obviously outside the scope of the cited passage -- prima facie.

2. Any news  (or would-be news) organization reporting obviously incorrect information from random Twitter users as if it were a real story is pure garbage.

3. You're too farking thick to follow points one and two.

How so?

I'm saying if the conspiracy theories that the Republicans make up about Biden were true, then they should have Biden arrested.

Which flag codes do MAGA violate on a daily basis?

(g)

The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.
image.thumb.jpeg.b1a5001f533bc8ecece60ea155e5d19d.jpeg

(h)
The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.
image.thumb.jpeg.55c17386353c9923a1553c81550d7f89.jpeg

(i)

The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard.

(j)
No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume

But YOU clarified back at the start that it was the code - not the subssection that was the problem. I pointed out that they got the subsection wrong (it's c) but the code is indeed violated.

And that's when you went into hysterics and doubled down on the stupid :)

Like i said - all been explained slowly to you before.  Very slowly.

So -

1 - the flag is very clearly in violation of the code

2 - you can have that opinion but frankly just about every newspaper out there has done a story on a twittter post before. Sooooo yeah.

3 - However stupid you think i am, it's clear you're far less intelligent so keep that in mind when insulting me ;)

Not really. Just smarter than you.  Most people would probably say that about their kids.  Or friends. Or random people they met. "Hey- you may be a homeless bum i just tripped over but you're still smarter than Hodad so you got that going for ya!"

You just don't set that bar very high  ;)  LOL!

Indeed. No one actually knows those rules or, outside of desecration, cares a whit.

That's why even the people pretending to be outraged on social media couldn't cite a legit violation. They had never read that code before. Rather, they saw a Pride flag and started googling for a problem to serve as proxy for their bigotry. And didn't particularly care when they didn't find one.

But they will scream and shout while wearing the flag as a costume, which is against the same code.  It’s the hypocrisy that is worth pointing out.

I don't think that flying the pride flag there for one day was disrespectful. Showing a bit of inclusivity is never a problem.

This was a huge problem:

Biden is a horrible person and he needs to go.

You HAD read the code - i spelled it out for you - and you still screwed it up multiple times. What was your excuse?

YOU are the one who is NOT concerned enough to see the display for what it is: A homosexual agenda first, America second, kind of display. ;)

A. The US flag is at the highest point and centered on the building. This is a secondary display in the photo. If you could look up in the image you'd see that.

B. Read the article in your OP. Read the complaint from random twitter guy. They are specifically talking about Flags of other states, localities or societies. The Pride flag is not in that category.  (Oh, and if we wanted to get pedantic about it, this only applies to flags displayed from staffs.) This is the image from the article/Twitter.

So no matter how you slice it, it's garbage "reporting." -- Just writing a story about what some random dude said on Twitter is already the bottom of the barrel for "news," but when it's as obviously incorrect as this is, that's a whole new flag. A red one.

C. Nobody cares about arcane flag protocol anyway. Like seriously, nobody. It was just a chance to take a shot at Biden and the LGBTQ+ community.

The US Flag Code is not law.

It was enacted by Congress, but it is only “should’s.” These are recommendations and not requirements.  There is no penalty for violating any of this and you cannot be arrested for violating any of it.

Although I dislike it… it is legal to make a shirt out of an American flag. It is legal to wave it from a pickup truck which drags it on the ground. You can douse the American flag in gas, hoist it up a pole and burn it. Flag code says you “shouldn’t,” but nobody can legally stop you.  It is a freedom we have, which we shouldn’t use, but we have it.

Yeah and that's fine for the average person. But when the gov't violates it's own code it DOES say something about its ethics. And it's a pretty clear violation.

Do i think it's a terribly big deal? Not really. But then i'm not American. There's all kinds of things some peole get worked up about like wearing your hat indoors if you're in the military or whatever. it's kind of disrespectful to others to spit in their face like that, even if it's a smaller group ,

This is nothing new. After each news story it seems... closeted experts come out of the wood work. They knew nothing nor cared for years on end but now they are world renowned experts on xyz topic.
