They don't have any of their own, unless they just print it in which case we pay through inflation.

Where is the money coming from that the government is handing out?

We're borrowing it, as usual. Which means the people stuck with the bill are going to be those who will have to live in a world where what the government can do is more heavily constrained by its large debt load and the debt service payments it will have to make.

What do you think is going on over at the Bank of Canada anyway?  A receiving dock with forklifts unloading pallets of gold from trucks onto a processing line leading to a shipping dock where forklifts load pallets of money onto trucks?  I suspect it looks a lot more like this where it's a lot closer to the truth to say the government will save us with our own thin air.

The science is in, it's time to let that start dictating policy, not emotion.

The data is in — stop the panic and end the total isolation

In New York City, an epicenter of the pandemic with more than one-third of all U.S. deaths, the rate of death for people 18 to 45 years old is 0.01 percent, or 11 per 100,000 in the population. On the other hand, people aged 75 and over have a death rate 80 times that. For people under 18 years old, the rate of death is zero per 100,000.

But you're saying these catch-phrases and questions aren't random, that they're deliberate and being distributed in an organized systematic way to media outlets around the world by the Democratic Party.  Do they do this by email, courier, fax or just phone them?

How many people are involved in this mob do you think? It must take a fair bit of orchestration with teams working on catch-phrases then testing them on people, project managers to run these by Hillary or Biden or whoever's in charge for approval, then there's all that emailing, phoning, faxing, couriering then double checking to ensure everyone got it right or wrong as the case may be.  Given the global scope of the project and all the news outlets it has to contend with it must be running 24 hours a day with offices in every country.

Do you have any whistleblowers with any evidence of all this or are post-it notes, maps, big red Sharpie and string all you need?  Does that all come in a kit or something?

Oooooh is it just a conspiracy theory then eyeball?

11 per hundred thousand is still a lot. That would be about 33,000 Americans btwn 18-45, and 80x that amt if their pop is 300M.

It's something like 300M, too lazy to check right now.

Covid is pretty contagious. It's not unreasonable to say that almost everyone would get it eventually.

In Canada, traffic fatalities are 5 in 100,000.  But 11 in 100,000  for this virus means the economy gets shut down?

I don't know that's why I'm asking if you're just hallucinating or actually serious. Apparently the latter given how you keep trying to make your case.

How long has this been going on btw? Years, decades, a century or more?  The Washington Post and New York Times have been around for almost 150 years and in all that time you can't find an example of Democrats cocking up the distribution of their talking points, catch-phrases and loaded/lame questions to media outlets the way Republicans do?

At 11 per 100,000 it's a lot. Especially when it's potentially 80x higher for older folks.

If keeping the curve down makes it manageable for hospital staff to bring up the survival rate, and if some more successful treatments come along to boost the survival rate we're good.

Hopefully HCQ or HCQ plus something else or one or more other drugs that I didn't mention turns out to be effective in a large-scale clinical trial.

Waiting for a vaccine isn't the answer right now imo. Still way too far away.

This isn't something that I'm guessing at, it's something that I know. I said something that's proven itself to be true over and over again. It's a pattern. If you don't recognize patterns then this will just be meaningless to you.

I don't really care what you fail to understand, or refuse to believe, it means nothing to me. I don't want to end up with your poor understanding of the world around you. Ignorance is only blissful in the short term.

A lot has been said about the elderly being most affected. Does it not occur that, if one smartens up, with a little luck, you too might get to live long enough to be old. Whether you are 18 or 98, dying is a bad thing. Some people are pretty cavalier about other people's lives. There is Captain Tom Moore (Happy Birthday Tom) out raising money for the NHS. The elderly deserve our respect and everything we can do for them. They've done a lot for us.

The only cavalier attitude is the attitude from people that don't mind destroying the livelihoods of tens of millions of people.  Like has been said a million times.  High risk people should continue to quarantine.  The rest of us can practice mitigation and social distancing.  Why is this still so bloody hard for people to comprehend?

Well, like I've already posted, traffic fatalities in Canada in 2000 were 9.5 per 100,000, did society close down the use of cars?  Did we close down the economy?  Nope, life went on.  Nobody knew, nobody cared.  High risk people should quarantine.  The rest of us practice mitigation and social distancing.

You're just mistaking the cavalier attitude people have towards your nonsense and imagining you symbolize the millions of people you're speaking about. That sounds like some sort of logical fallacy/fantasy.

Are you Donald Trump by any chance?

I'm not sure what you mean.  Have you seen the numbers regarding unemployment benefits applications?  Have you seen the surveys of the percentage of businesses that have closed, and will not reopen?  I'm not sure why you're so against a logical, scientific approach.

Scary to think that we are nothing more than debt slaves to the system. Maybe the people supporting Bitcoin were not crazy after all.

A better chance of dying from medical malpractice. Imagine going to see your doctor about COVID and then dying because the doctor did the wrong thing.

Yes, sadly it's something that I've had to say several times.  With people still not understanding.  At this point I think it's a learning disability or something.

What I was responding to is that it sounded like you just wanted to unleash the whole economy based on 11/100K and 80x that for seniors.

Your only quote to go along with those stats was: "The science is in, it's time to let that start dictating policy, not emotion."

The combo of that quote from the article plus your own comment doesn't imply caution. It implies a willingness to let the chips fall where they may.

I'm in the camp that says we should be opening up as well.

We both know our PM will use this as an excuse to virtue signal, and that it's impossible for there not to be a flare up at least somewhere in the vastness of the US, even based on virus that is currently in the population before they open up, and the next round of "Trudeau did awesome and Trump sucked" will likely have a smidgeon of merit to it. God help us, because we've already seen how hyped up they get even when they're flat out wrong, as with the Jan 2020-present scenario.

My bad then.  No, I’d expect everyone to practice mitigation and social distancing for at least a few months, maybe more.  I’d expect high risk people to stay in some type of quarantine.  But perhaps there could be some expanded services for them to make it easier and more safe.  Retirement and nursing homes would be pretty much off limits for the foreseeable future.
