His promise about cell phone costs is pie in the sky.  The 25 cent cut would be over four years (not two) and would be driven by mandating big wireless providers to lease extra capacity to smaller start-ups that would retail services at lower prices.  Also: prices would be considered when govt awards 5G spectrum

People are disgusted by all these blatant promises and offers, so obviously prostitute themselves to buy a vote. We don't want your dirty money, Mr Trudeau. Who are you going to steal the money from? Canadians have a conscience.

It's only a small benefit anyway. What was it last year? $12,000. The year before, 11.5. Expect it would have been 12,500 or so this year, so this adds up to an additional $2500 dollars tax free. So what. The income tax is about $500 - 700 dollars. Hardly a big yay.

No, they are not. They want and expect it. A sizeable portion of the electorate, probably more than half, are sitting there waiting to see who offers what to buy their votes, and will cast their votes for the biggest bribe.

Forty percent of the electorate pay no income tax anyway. These tax cuts, and the ones the Tories are offering, will both serve to raise that higher, possibly to as high as 45-50%. So come next election even more people will be sitting there waiting to be bribed. It's free stuff! Why not!? Elections are becoming auctions, where politicians try to outbid each other for voter segments with various targeted policies. And the more people are exempt from taxes the more they will demand further bribes for their votes. This is a one-way road that leads to Greece, but who cares? That's something for the future to worry about. And anyway, they can just raise taxes on those OTHER people, the ones who make more money than us! The bastards!

Not much different from what Scheer was proposing.

It actually makes the Liberals who were criticizing Scheer's tax cut announcement last week look foolish.

You can tell JT is desperate though. He trotted out the tired old Cell Phone Bill promise.

Yes, it's amazing how popular giving money to people that they don't have to earn and/or work for can be.  Especially among people that don't work or pay taxes.

$700 a year is a big tax cut.  You’d have to get back to guys like Mike Harris for that kind of move.  Harper did well on taxes too though.

Oh Canada we stand on guard for thee, true patriot love in all thy bribery.

God save our gracious Queen, long live our noble Queen, God  save  our Justin. Long may he reign over us vane and sanctimonious, God save our Queen.

No we the citizens are, for following him.

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

Those that support him have NO morals or values worth mentioning....I mean if they can shrug off, the lying, breaking the law, multi trips to explain things to the ethics commissionaire, the firing of those that showed a bit of integrity and honesty, abuse of power, not to mention all the stupid things he has done, dressing up , inviting terrorists to a function and how many times he has embarrassed Canada on the world stage...I think the majority of Canada should get Justin for 4 more years, obviously they can't get enough of the privileged Justin....the rest of us will just have to continue to get kicked in the nuts for anther 4 years.....while singing kumbaya and watching black face video's...

Good grief...I sure hope you mean the rhetorical we.

How on earth did we ever argue about anything before Google came along?

It sure must have been quiet.
