The worst thing about Trump is that he undermines the security of the West in general, as well as the U.S. in particular.

...but still far more effective and relevant than NATO deadbeats like Canada.

Like Brexit, Trump has energized nationalism over globalism, regardless of race, and that is a good thing.

And that sounds like a lot of fluff to try to deflect from the fact that Trump's actions failed, in this case regarding NK. We all know he will lie to try and cover up for it.

Don't be stupid; taking NK away from China is a big step. As I metioned before, we saw no funny business from NK yet. US needs to find a way to have NK and SK coexisting, and that is not an easy task.

He has energized stupid over smart, and ignorance over knowledge.

Trump came home from his first "love in" with Kim and tweeted out that "NK poses no more nuclear threat". Sat photos not long after show construction and revamping of missile sites carries right along. There's your "funny business" although I wouldn't call it that.

Trump is still far more important and relevant on the world stage than the impotent dolt that is the current PM of Canada.

Far right groups in Canada look to Trump, not anything in Canada, where their freedom of expression rights can be legally suppressed.

Canada wants more globalism, immigration, refugees, and "human rights" imperialism, all while losing even more respect and relevance.

Is he really? Do they let him do anything but play with the remote there in the White House?

They look to Trump as someone of the same intellectual level.

No, we really don't.

And Trump seems to want to close all the borders so he can create his pasty white society his type of bigotry can only be comfortable with. And of course he more "relevant" when he gets on stage with dictators like kim, vladi, mbs. He now pretty much gets dismissed/laughed at when on stage with historical allies.

Trump is doing exactly what he was elected to do....disrupt the status quo.

Trump / USA will still always matter more on the world stage that the smartest PM / Canada, and right now you have one of the dumbest ones ever.

I think there is a difference between disrupting status quo and causing havoc, which it seems what he has done so far. And why do you worship a man who lies so constantly?

One might be forgiven for considering a person who admires someone who is a deadbeat, serial bankrupt, serial sexual criminal, racist, ignorant to the point of sheer stupidity, compulsive liar and just generally a despicable person, to be the same sort of person.

"Far right" does not automatically equal white supremacist group

SoO Canada is a nationalist group not affiliated with European groups of the same name.

The issue isn't even about colour the real issue is the desire for supremacy.  I suspect this desire stems from simple fear and conservatives are just naturally more reactionary and aggressive when they feel threatened or fearful.

Soo...its no wonder ordinary run-of-the-mill conservatives have little issue with their supremacist cousins, be they racial, religious, political, or nationalist - they're all equally primitive for the same reason.

Clearly it would have been brave little progressive monkeys that led our species out of the trees - probably just to get away from the fearful screeching forever coming down from on high.

No more than triggered "progressives", afraid that their collectivist ideology will not prevail after all.

He said supremely.  The fact we have the dumbest PM has nothing to do with it.

Just one example of Trump's impact on the Canadian political landscape and psyche, without even trying hard.

Canadian media invented a term for this dominance from a foreign country...."Trumpian".

Quote

Trudeau’s failure to implement change will also have consequences. Voters initially enticed by Trudeau’s 2015 promise to tackle Canada’s socioeconomic divisions may now justifiably look elsewhere for change.  And since the Liberals have now associated socially liberal values with broken promises and elitist opacity, any cause with a progressive ethos may be regarded with deep suspicion.

In Betraying Canada’s Left Voters, Justin Mimics His Dad

Granted, it’s improbable that a Trump-like figure will appear in Canada, and that kind of hysterical prophecy isn’t what is being pondered here.

Rather, Trudeau has set the stage for the anti-immigrant, anti-progressive and pro-business right to infiltrate the mainstream and turn politics to the right. That process is already underway.

Conservative leader Andrew Scheer seems quite comfortable with personalities associated with Rebel Media, while his advocacy of tax cuts for corporations certainly will not empower Canada’s have-nots. Scheer’s penchant for mockery, coupled with his socially conservative stance and personal convictions, indicates he is taking his cues from the new American right.

Except it is prevailing - as evidenced by the increasing reaction to it.  Cause and effect.

Scheer and his base are very much US style Repugnican conservatives. Like Trump, he appeals to very ignorant, very racist people. So does Kenny who will likely be the next Premier of Alberta and the new alberta flag will feature red necks and pointy white hats.

That's OK...the rest of the world won't be staying up late to find out.    But they will be watching U.S. politics...especially eyeballs in Canada.

If Trump is so "important" on the "world stage", I wonder how come he gets pushed artound by the likes of his "buddy" fat kim.

After a summit in Singapore with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un last summer, President Donald Trump tweeted that “there is no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea.”

The enthusiasm proved premature.

Diplomatic progress between the two countries slowed throughout the fall, and North Korea continued many of its activities as usual, including advancing its nuclear weapons research and improving some missile bases, according to experts.

As he heads to a second summit in Vietnam this week, Trump has continued to lavish praise on Kim, but he has dialed down some of the claims. Other U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, have said they hope to achieve more “real demonstrable, verifiable” steps this time around.
