Mohammad bin Salman

MBS is a complete incompetent with no talent for governing whatsoever. Only an absolute monarchy could put a fool like that in charge. His actions regarding Yemen, Qatar and Lebanon have played into the hands of Iran and shaking down the elite for money has created many enemies at home. Rushing reform is more dangerous than going too slowly. Even in a relatively advanced country like Iran, the Shah came a cropper by underestimating the power of the religious establishment. He should be replaced as quickly as possible.

Damn Hypocrisy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As bad as this murder is BUT It is appalling  that there is so much international uproar for a single journalist killed likely by Saudi regime whereas the world (and many posters here) are SILENT about all those hundreds of innocent journalists and environmentalists and students and workers and union leaders and women jailed and murdered in Iranian jails by Iran occupying regime of mullahs or MADE suicide in jailed or tortured to death. DAMN Hypocrisy or what?? Is this mullah's oil worth so much that the European so called democracies are prostituting themselves to mullahs and the world remain silent and blind to Iran regime atrocities?

Relax homie. This is more than the killing of one man. This is about a government that has, for so long, received very little criticism because they have been able to buy the support of most Western governments. Now that they have taken out a fellow journalists, the normally docile mainstream media is talking about the situation and the situation goes well beyond a journalist who dared to criticize the prince and the Saudi policies.

Saudi Arabia’s brash young crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, under scrutiny over the Khashoggi case, now faces a fresh reckoning for his ruthless prosecution of the war in Yemen — yet another foreign policy debacle for Saudi Arabia, and a catastrophe for the Arab world’s poorest country.

Don't worry. There is plenty of room to still criticize the brutal and corrupt Iranian mullahs and the racist Israeli regime. Don't let the attention that this news is receiving from stopping you from fighting for justice.

Relax homie. Your attempts at sounding ghetto are past pathetic. Marcus Hudson Jones. This comment shows your selective b.s.:

"This is about a government that has, for so long, received very little criticism because they have been able to buy the support of most Western governments. " Yah Russia, China don't support SA only the West. For that matter the West, Russia, China don't support Iran. Your selectivity and attempt to pin this on the West while you shrill for the Iranian government, Hezbollah and Syria's puppet regime is par for the course. You have zero credibility suggesting to anyone they are inconsistent or selective in who they criticize. Start with yourself Marcus Hudson Mohammed Jones or whatever name it is.

This issue is shining a badly needed light on something else that also receives very little criticism, the appallingly shameful and fetid nature of that support - a solid majority of Canadians oppose arms deals with Saudi Arabia.

A former foreign-policy adviser to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the Canadian government has a very big task on its hands right now.

"Reports from Awamiyah were disturbing. The onus is clearly on the federal government to establish that Canadian military goods were not, and are not, being used against civilians," University of Ottawa international-affairs professor Roland Paris said.

The Saudi government has not denied that it's used Canadian-made armoured vehicles in internal conflicts. In an August statement to The Globe and Mail, the Saudi embassy in Canada said those it was fighting deserved it because they are terrorists.

But the little you do know leads you to conclude;

1. Israel and Palestine are equally guilty

2. accountability for providing one with the capacity to invade and conquer the other is negated because they didn't do the actual conquering

So Palestinians don't have the right to defend themselves or rebel against their aggressive brutal invasion?  Is it safe to assume you'd hold accountable anyone who provides Arabs with a capacity to do so?.

Some Palestinians just want to liver normal lives, but you're talking about the Pawnestinians. They aren't "defending themselves", they're being used to foment hatred against Israel.

Before 1967, we used to refer to these folks...Palestinians...as Egyptians and Jordanians...as that's what they are.

That's pretty common when rebelling - a similar hatred is fomented against them. That's pretty common when oppressing.  No doubt some Israelis just want to live normal lives too.

Should the Israelis have done the same thing the Pakistanis did? Commit mass murder and mass systemic rape to ethnically cleanse their new territory? Pakistani militias even committed approximately 300,000 rapes in Bangladesh as well in '70. No one is complaining about Pakistan anymore.

I see there is talk of Trump sacrificing another Green Card holder, this time to Erdogan, to cool the heat on MBS.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/white-house-weighs-booting-erdogan-foe-u-s-appease-turkey-n933996

Meanwhile, Trump is looking for a way to avoid blaming MBS for the murder he committed.

If you do business with the Saudis, you constantly run the risk of disgracing yourself

Well, you are, so it’s not nobody. Of course, the Israelis should not have done that. Technically speaking, I think you’re talking about the events in East Pakistan there rather than Bangladesh which didn’t exist at the time. If you really want to complain about something that’s being undercovered, pick an African country like Congo.

I’m pretty sure that I actually mentioned the Congo on here at some point in the last few weeks. I’ve heard that more people died in their civil war than all the people on both sides in WWI and WWII put together.

Well good, because Congo is one of the most neglected stories in the world in terms of publicity per casualty. It’s not a nice place for journalists to visit.

Getting this thread back on track.

The USA will continue relations with the Saudi's regardless. Why does the USA deal with terrorists? Why does the USA hate freedom?

The US fears freedom, especially when it's someone else's.

That means what?  Do you mean the freedom to terrorize? Who you of course not. You mean the US the entire country lives to rob people of their right to be just like you. Uh yah.

The US fears the freedom of people in many countries to be in control of their own governments. Its no surprise so many feel they have no choice but to resort to terrorism.
