sharkman
I'm pretty sure I never saw his earliest Bond movies, but I've got a couple of Connery Bond movies and they kind of suck.

By today's standards, yes, they are lackluster but when they were first released those early movies were golden to Bond fans.
kactus
A lot of critics think of Sean Connery as the true character of James Bond and Roger Moore as a copy cat. Interesting to see that Bond movies even had the influence of an american actor George Lazenby as lead actor in 1978 bond movie on her majesty's secret service. That to cover the gap between Sean Connery and Roger Moore in Diamonds are forever....

They have a campy style to them. Best in marathon form...uncut. Plus...one has to remember...in a film like You Only Live Twice...some of the 'high-tech gadgets' are standard fare today if not replaced...the Bell UH-1 Huey Iroquois/Hog for example....which was featured...was still pretty new to everybody. Or Goldfinger...with the affordable, sporty Piper PA-28 Cherokee...futuristic. Edited May 25, 2017 by DogOnPorch
August1991
Quote As a seven year old in about 1983, in the days before First Class Lounges at airports, I was with my grandad in Nice Airport and saw Roger Moore sitting at the departure gate, reading a paper. I told my granddad I’d just seen James Bond and asked if we could go over so I could get his autograph. My grandad had no idea who James Bond or Roger Moore were...
