You can accept it, which is an article of faith, but you can't honestly declare the book 'consistent' as that word has objective meaning. Well, no. That would be like you saying the written rules in this forum is inconsistent since members have varying views about trolling! It's not the forum rules that's inconsistent. That's the analogy that comes to mind. The message in the Bible has not changed, the same way that the forum rules about trolling has not. Edited May 2, 2017 by betsy Quote

The message has not differed in the different versions that are mainstream. Of course, we're not talking about versions that are re-worded, edited and designed to cater to special interest groups, or political correctness. I have not watched the video. But if you are not working with the original bible, I may have to toss out all of your arguments based on the fact that man modified the bible a few times. What was removed? And why? So again which version are you basing this on? Why you you constantly fail to answer? I never took you for a troller. Quote

You didn't even read articles that rebutted your claim.....and yet you keep rehashing the same lame cliche! So you're saying, you believe in the Bible: even the contradictory ones.....just in case? Anyway....in what way did he "hit the nail on the head?" Because, imv, his very statement proved that he lacked study and understanding of what he'd read - thus, he thinks there are contradictory statements. How can one say he believes in something he thinks is not reliable? Believing is not enough - especially "mock belief." According to Jesus, he'd have to not only accept Him as the Lord and Saviour, but Flanders would also have to repent. That means being sorry for his sins, which includes, a change in his way of thinking - a change in lifestyle, if necessary. All that is made possible when one accepts Jesus Christ, because the indwelling of Christ in His disciple becomes reflected in His disciple. "Just in case"...... what? In case the Bible is true.......where does that leaves him with his mock belief? He thinks Christ/God can be fooled? Edited May 24, 2017 by betsy Quote
GostHacked Posted May 24, 2017 Report Posted May 24, 2017 God said, though shalt not kill, but look at all the people God killed in the Bible. I agree Betsy, NOTHING contradictory about that at all. Quote

Like the stretching universe as an example! 11 times, the heavens has been described as being "stretched" by various authors from various timelines - within the appropriate context of describing the heavens. >>>>>Fast forward to the 20th century>>>>>>> Lo and behold, science discovers that the universe is stretching! This video addresses the arguments usually given by non-believers. For those who want to discuss, please watch and we'll discuss the points given in this video on why we should trust the Bible. Honesty test. Telephone Test. Corroboration test. The story about Noah and the flood makes no sense to me at all. How can one man be able to retrieve a pair of every kind of mammal, bird, and insect from all over the world, when he most likely didn't know how big the world was and to how many different types of animal and bird life was out there? Did he know that there were polar bears in the Arctic, and there were tigers in the jungles of India? How many species of birds did he know was out there? And say he did get all the animal, bird and insect life into his boat, which had to be massive, and then he would have to stock up on food for all those species in order for them to survive for forty days while they drifted around in the ocean until the rains stopped, and some how waited for god to be was able to make all that water disappear enough to be able to put all those animals back from whence they came. That alone tells me that the bible is full of nonsense stories that cannot be believed. Quote
