Another USA warning to NATO members.....

Strange that Canada's foreign minister Freeland would cry at trade talks but now insist on "hard power" for liberal democracies.

Freeland is writing cheques with her mouth that NATO deadbeat Canada can't cash...little wonder she wants Trump and the USA to continue to pay for the "mantle" burden.

Yet more CBC news from south of the border. Isn't that down Mexico way?

Freeland said she only wanted to use Canadian references, yet she explicitly pointed out U.S. policy and post WW2 "mantle" burden.

Somebody needs to tell Freeland that the United States is not going to war with Russia to protect her family's near and dear Ukraine.

Her maternal grandfather, Mykhailo Khomiak in Ukrainian, was the editor-in-chief of a Ukrainian-language pro-Nazi newspaper called Krakivs'ki visti launched in Kraków in occupied Poland during World War II, with exposure orchestrated by Joseph Goebbels himself.[16] Michael Chomiak has been characterized by the Canadian press as a "Nazi collaborator",[17][18][19] although he may have been unwilling to take the top position.[20] Freeland and others have claimed that the circulation of news in 2017 regarding her grandfather's connection to Nazism was the result of a Russian disinformation campaign,[21][19][20] nevertheless these facts have been confirmed by the University of Alberta historian, Professor John-Paul Himka.[19]

Canada has always had a rather lax/relaxed attitude with its Nazis...escaped or otherwise. My one uncle simply never went home after getting released from Seebe and translator duty...and it was just a hop skip and a jump to the heart of Volga German Canada...Central Alberta. Just like home...

Her's is a similar tale, I'm sure. However, Volga Germany was wiped-off the map in WW2 by both the Nazis and the Reds. Stalingrad and all that.

Ukrainia/The Ukraine...still drones on.

In the 1970's and 1980's, my crew mates were personally more than ready to nuke Kiev, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk , etc. off the map again.    Easily within range from the Med or North Atlantic.

UGM-27 Polaris was quite the rig. Way ahead of its time. The Rooshins still have nagging issues with launching underwater.

That's the funny part...Freeland claims it is only because of Canadian values and interests.

Canada's actual DND spending trend tells a different story, and Canadian Forces paid for it with their lives.

Americans have always been hot on committing war crimes. It seems to be in their blood, in their genes.

Quote

This is documented by perhaps the most shocking violations Turse found: numerous accounts of American troops actually making a game out of killing. One American medic, seeing two boys dead near a road,

“found out they’d been hit by an American military truck and that there was this kind of game going on in which, supposedly, guys were driving through town gambling over who could hit a kid. They had some disgusting name for it, something like “gook hockey.” I think they were driving deuce-and-a-halfs—big-ass trucks. The NCO who ordered me to clean the bodies could have cared less. War criminals, like gangsters, murderers, ... will say anything. It didn't help the Nazi war criminals.

Bombed them too....American military doctrine requires total air superiority and lots of bombs.

Don't like it ?    Stop us....

NATO deadbeats like Canada and Germany want the U.S. to promise more of the same.

Military people always say they want more money for the military. That's what they do.

The 2% GDP target is an unjustified political target with no basis.
If you want to demonstrate that spending 2% of GDP pasts cost-benefit analysis and get that published in a peer review economic journal, then maybe I'd reconsider my position.

That's the first time i heard that one, That's one of the go to statements that Civilians "like you" , who are out of their element when discussing topics that really don't interest them, but some how can't resist talking about them......because some how you developed a bad taste for anything military.....why is that ?

Back on topic , have you done any research on today's current state of our military....people who have been isolated in the back country for years know why is it that most Canadians like you do not.....perhaps if you could put aside your dislike for anything military for a second, you might just see the light and just how bad it is ....
