Russia and Mr. Trump

Recommended Posts

Yesterday, unconfirmed information was released regarding Donald Trump's possible activities in Russia, which the Russian FSB might have a record of. These came from a document prepared by a British intelligence officer, and while there is no proof that they're true, some regard them as all-too credible. Without regard to the salacious nature of the stories we can say the following with certainty:

The Russian intelligence services act like they did in the 1950s towards important visitors. Every minute of their time in Russia is closely monitored. Every phone call they make is listened to. Everyone they meet is documented. And their hotel rooms will be bugged. The more important the visitor, such as high ranking reporters for important news outlets like the New York Times or Washington Post, important diplomats and high ranking members of the state department, and of course, wealthy businessmen, will be even more closely monitored. The State department warns all such people to expect to be under surveillance 24/7, even in their hotel rooms. They are also warned that attractive and sexually agreeable young members of the opposite sex (or the same sex) will be thrown into their path in hopes of getting videos to compromise them.

Donald Trump would have been given such a warning because he WOULD have been an important target. He would have been under surveillance and attractive young women - of exactly the type he finds most attractive -- would have been placed in his path.

Donald Trump is a hedonist whose lusty pursuit of women, married or not, has become infamous. He's also extremely arrogant, arrogant enough to ignore the state department warning. This is a man who disguised himself as his publicist once, after all, to brag to reporters about what a great stud he was with women. It's entirely credible to think Trump would have had sex with local FSB employees and not cared if there were videos. After all, he was Mr party animal. He has long cultivated that reputation. Reports of him going at it with sexy 20 year olds would only add to that reputation.

Except now he's the president.

BTW, his state department nominee Rex Tillerson would have been subjected to the same level of surveillance and also been presented with any number of young attractive and enthusiastically agreeably people during his many visits to Russia. It's entirely possible he and Trump have both been compromised.

I haven't seen any articles yet that said this is proven.  What would you have the MSM do, ignore the whole thing?

So far as I can tell, they are reporting on what the US Intelligence services have told the President Elect.  That's news.

Not if it's unverified. I'm sure there's lots of stuff in US Intelligence briefings.

But in the age of Fake News, who cares. Trump got peed on by Russian Hookers, no one can say otherwise.

I bet there's not a lot of stuff like this in US Intelligence briefings.  It's not what he did that matters.  It's what the Russians have tape of him doing that matters.

If this is the burden of proof required for legit journalism, then the field is doomed for sure.

Are you for real? We live in a society where millions of people believe that pedophiles have a secret network of tunnels under a DC pizza shop, because teenagers on a website made it a trending topic on Twitter.  Burden of proof? Ain't nobody got time for dat!

So as it stands, this is apparently from the dossier distributed by the intelligence community, and major outlets didn't publish the details but Buzzfeed did.

Leaving aside the lurid unconfirmed details for the moment, we do know that there's been a lot of communication between Trump's team and Russia, that there was even a private server for that purpose. The FBI had sought warrants from the FISA (the federal court that issues warrants for surveillance by federal agencies) to investigate several members of the Trump team.

For starters, nobody ever said Buzzfeed is legitimate journalism. But how come you didn't whine about the unsubstantiated reports about DNC email leaks? Trump based his whole campaign around it and you just accepted it.

Who said I accepted it? I'm saying this goes both ways.

Yes, it does. If Trump can quote Podesta's emails within minutes after receiving them from Russia and it's news, Buzzfeed can quote an intelligence report and it's news. At least the MSM is restraining itself from reporting the details and being clear they're unsubstantiated. Trump did not indicate the emails he got from Russia were anything but unquestionable facts.

Risk management says you have to take risks seriously even if they're unlikely. The more down-side a risk carries, the more seriously you have to take it. There is YUUUGE downside to Trump, and or Tillerson being in the pockets of Vlad the Impaler, so even if it's unlikely it has to be monitored and investigated. And given Trump's sexual history and arrogance, and the heavy monitoring the Russians engage in I wouldn't, frankly, consider it at all unlikely that they'd have videos of him and young women.

After listening to Trump's new conference today, I believe him more than the Democrats going after him. First of all. it wasn't  Russia that gave to e-mails to Wikileaks, it was a third  party, a worker in the security agency. The closer it gets to the 20th the harder the Dems are going after Trump and he'll be lucky to make it through the first year alive.

Look at the whole Manafort secret documents fiasco in Ukraine. The information in this file is hardly NEW information. It's an elaboration on things that have been coming out for awhile. Forget the Bacchanalian orgy. This just fills in more details about the information sharing between Trump and Putin and their systematic undertaking to disrupt Western politics on one hand and keep tabs on wealthy Russian expats on the other.

And his opposition trusts Buzzfeed.

To be absolutely honest I have long suspected the Russians would have found it fairly easy to entice him into their video porn projects during his visits there. The man has no self control or discipline and never saw a pretty girl he didn't want to grope.

But he's a germophobe apparently.

The report didn't say he took part, merely that he watched. Anyway, he might be a germophobe but it clearly hasn't stopped him having adulterous affairs with women. By his own admission.
