Federal law would prohibit President Elect Trump from appointing family members to his cabinet.  This resulted from JFK/RFK in early 1960's.

Some good picks there, I especially like Bolton, Newt and Kellyanne Conway, she should get a blank check for the work she did.

I have said that the Western world is just as violent as the Islamic world - Dialamah

Europe seems to excel at fooling people to immigrate there from the ME only to chew them up and spit them back. - Eyeball

Unfortunately our policies have contributed to retarding and limiting their (Muslim's) society's natural progression towards the same enlightened state we take for granted. - Eyeball

Bolton, to me, only seems natural.......Newt should be given back the public purse strings, he did yeoman's work as Speaker.........Conway, I agree, if she doesn't go to the White House, I pick Sean Hannity as my second choice.....then Conway to FNC ;)

It's not a Trump cabinet though without Palin..........

These are all known names and people.  I'd like to see a few surprises to fill out the cabinet.  I'm sure there are some Donald Rumsfeld types that can help.  And Kelly-Anne Conway is a rock star.  She should be in the inner circle as she's proved herself as a king maker.

I think Trump would be wise to cut ties with Chris Christie ASAP.

One of the items that went overlooked in the week prior to the election was the conviction of Christie's top aide Bridget Kelly and New York And New Jersey Port Authority exec Bill Baroni on all charges relating to the George Washington Bridge closure scandal.  Kelly and Baroni both testified that Chris Christie knew full well what was going on. Another Port Authority official, David Wildstein, plead guilty and rolled over on Christie earlier.

For people who might have forgotten, the G.W. Bridge closure scandal (known as "Bridgegate" because people aren't very creative) was a plan concocted to reduce the world's busiest bridge to just a couple of lanes, deliberately intended to cause traffic gridlock in Fort Lee because the mayor didn't endorse Christie's re-election campaign.  People couldn't get to work, schoolbuses spent all day stuck in traffic, the damage to workers and businesses from the resulting absenteeism must have been enormous, people probably lost jobs, emergency vehicles were unable to move, and an old lady died because her ambulance was stuck in traffic jams.  This was all done in the name of a bogus "traffic study" which they had planned in advance. Bridget Kelly's email "Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee!" became infamous.  During the trials, all three of them testified that Christie knew what was going on with the bridge before, during, and after.

Inflicting this kind of punishment on the people of a city for no reason other than you're mad at the mayor is utterly despicable. Doing so by misusing state resources is utterly despicable plus criminal.

Christie himself may or may not face charges himself, but if you're Trump and you just campaigned promising to "Drain the Swamp!", why would you want somebody tainted with this kind of scandal on your team?

If Trump does insist on keeping Christie, I hope he at least has the decency to make him Secretary of Transportation, because that would be hilarious.

Bill O'Reilly had Giuliani on tonight and suggested, jokingly, exactly the same thing......conventional wisdom would suggest Trump dump Christie.....and that is why I think Trump won't dump him, but put him into cabinet... ;)

I just can't picture why Trump would stick his neck out for a guy like Chris Christie.  Christie brings this awful baggage with him, and doesn't bring any benefit to offset it. His approval numbers are roughly the same as Ebola, Boko Haram, and dealcoholized beer.

Simple........loyalty......Christie torpedoed Rubio during the primaries, in true Kamikaze fashion, and was one of the first also rans to endorse Trump....bridge gate, outside of Democratic New Jersey, just isn't an issue.........and if Trump stuffs him in one of the lesser cabinet positions, who really would care?

Trump brings a lot of baggage. Did not hurt him. Trump seeks to reward friends and punish enemies.
Christie, as an early supporter, is in line for a reward.

It appears that massive tax cuts are going to top of agenda which will blow the budget.

The Obamacare repeal will be a clusterf**k because whatever they replace it will take years to plan and will likely be screwed up by the ideologues during implementation.

I am guessing that 3 or so years into his mandate when Russia or China will invade a US ally and Trump will repudiate all defense treaties that the US has signed (my guess is China will take the opportunity to seize Taiwan). Japan will be forced to build nukes.

Cabinet positions are supposed to staffed by competent people. Not given out as rewards. The only hope that Trump the idiot has is if he surrounds himself with competent people. If he stuffs his cabinet with loyal cronies his administration will crash and burn.

Well, it wouldn't surprise me if he does it... I just don't think it would be smart. Suppose your new Secretary of Transportation ends up charged with felony official misconduct a couple weeks after he's sworn in. What kind of start would that be for a guy who promised to clean up Washington?  Christie's conduct re:Fort Lee is the worst kind of abuse of political authority, and I don't think Trump could give a worse signal to the people who voted for him expecting change.

I also don't think spending the whole campaign griping about the Washington political establishment, then putting a Newt Gingrich in a top post makes a lot of sense either, but I'm sure he'll do that too.

What makes Christie, or any of the other proposed Cabinet officials, incompetent?

Oh I agree, again though, that would only seem to apply to a conventional President.

From the onset though Trump has said he will look for the "right kind of experienced people" to help and advise him........I think that translates more so into State's Governors, but some like Gingrich and a handful of Senators and Congressmen will be needed if only to know how the mechanics of Washington work.

Gingrich can also give Trump some pointers on the best places to stash your mistresses in Washington.

I was thinking more along the lines of knowing all the senior lawmakers and lobbyists, and perhaps even knowing where a few skeletons are buried.......not so much grab-ass.

Ivanka Trump is likely to be there somewhere.  Apparently, she played a big role as his adviser during the campaign.....and in one of his interviews, he mentioned that some folks had made that suggestion.

If played right, I'm betting that Ivanka Trump could become the first female US President.

I told my wife the exact same thing last night.  However, in 4 years, the dems will likely play the female angle once again.

I expect she'll want to stay clear of the Trump administration to preserve her clothing line's marketability.

BC has said there may be legal issues regarding family members, but I guarantee Ivanka will be visibly active somewhere.

Why is a female running for President an "angle" to you? Just curious.

Trump's cabinet:

- National Security Advisor: James Comey (Hey, Trump owes him!)

- Attourney Genera: Judge Judy

- Secretary of Education: Jeff Epstien (seems to know about children)

- Secretary of health and human Services: Dr. Oz

- White House Press secretary: Julian Assange

- Secretary of the Treasury: Bernie Maddof (hey he must be a financial wiz! And he'd probably have some financial ideas that are right up Trump's alley)

- White house chief of staff: Johm Miller

Actually, Trump's preferred Cabinet:

Secretary of State - Donald Trump

Secretary of the Treasury -  Donald J. Trump

Secretary of Defense- D. J. Trump

Attorney General- Trump, Donald
