Technology trumps philosophy in this case.....the forum engine was upgraded to a newer, supported version.   We could all go back to 300 baud dial-up modems too but probably should not do so.

What does "trump" mean?

In this context....it is a verb meaning:

Quote

Surpass (something) by saying or doing something better.

‘if the fetus is human life, that trumps any argument about the freedom of the mother’

Works on MacBook as well. Thanks.

I discovered it when extremely frustrated with the inability to delete a quote and I was clicking every possible combination of key + delete possible.

Is there any way to enable identification of sources in quotes, i.e. [quotename='Toronto Star']?

Yes.  I just changed your username up above with the following code:

<blockquote class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote="" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic" data-ipsquote-contentcommentid="1194379" data-ipsquote-contentid="26177" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-timestamp="1477444700" data-ipsquote-userid="1940" data-ipsquote-username="Toronto Star">

The relevent code is at the end of the block:

 data-ipsquote-username="Toronto Star">
