Reminder, when religious people kill people it's an isolated incident that has no relationship to the overall belief system. When non-religious people kill people it's proof that humans are innately evil who need religion to tell them killing is wrong.

The whole world will gradually become secular. The so-called western world already is and even though it is very hard to believe today I have no doubt that in 50-100 years time countries such as Saudi-Arabia, Iran or any muslim-country will be as secular as our countries are today; religion will mean next to nothing for the vast majority of the population.

While it would be nice, the lack of a proper education in many places across the globe means that a lot of this secularism will take even longer.

Would you suggest the IRA was not called a terrorist group or the Bader Meinhoff Gang or Red Brigades, or SLA, or Black Panthers, or KKK, or Aryan Brotherhood, or a long list of right and left wing extremist terrorist groups that are non Muslim hav never been called terrorist?

Muslim extremism and terrorism is just that. Its people who identify as that. They use the Islamic religion to justify terrorism or extremist beliefs. If Christians or Jews do it based on their religious beliefs they are called terrorists as well.

Your problem is you assume the press is biased. Is it? Back up what you said. Provide examples of non Muslim terrorists using their religions as the pretense for their terrorism not being properly identified.

I think his issue is with why this incident of crime has been elevated beyond it's importance. Three people were murdered. That's a tragedy to them and their families, but unimportant in the general scheme of things. If they weren't Muslims we never would have heard about it. But the media adores 'man bites dog' stories. Thus every day white people are murdered by Black people in the US, sometimes in horrific ways, and it rarely ever makes much of a ripple in the national media. Let a Black person be murdered by a White person, though, and in fly the race baiters and activists and cameras and everyone in the media is agog at the possible racial implications. Even if there are none.

Heck, it doesn't even have to involve murder. White women are raped every day by Black men without anyone giving a damn, but we've seen national media pile-ons on several occasions where it was alleged (inaccurately) that a black woman was raped by white men.

If we want to talk about media studies, then it's best to do so objectively. It's a difficult topic and if you start out with the attitude that there's a hidden agenda to speak or not speak about things (at least without proof) then it makes it difficult.

People do care about certain crimes over others, I think. It's pretty obvious that "hate crimes", whatever that could mean, do and should attract special attention. Similarly, black on black crimes do not attract attention even when they should.

But I didn't really intend to discuss interracial rape. I merely brought it up as a comparison, where black against white violence is routine and rarely draws much attention, but the reverse catches the eye of the media. I think the same situation is at place here with the three Muslims being killed by the white guy. Of course, CAIR is determined to have it called a hate crime, wanting to cloak themselves as victims. In reality, I'm pretty sure hate crimes are far more likely to be perpetrated by Muslims than against them - and mostly against Jews.
