CNN is reporting that Israel has called up 40,000 reservists.

http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/08/world/meast/mideast-tensions/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

The Israeli military has already called up several hundred reservists and is planning to recruit many more to strengthen its positions around Gaza "with a view to possible ground maneuvers," Lerner said Tuesday.

The Israeli Cabinet on Tuesday authorized the military to call 40,000 reserve troops. During an offensive on Gaza in November 2012, 30,000 reservists were called up.

I think in light of what is going on now in Iraq and Syria (more so than a couple years ago) Israel will want to beef up their line. Tinder box ready to blow.

Israel is always looking for an excuse to create instability. Whether it's in the occupied territories or surrounding areas such as Lebanon and Syria. They feed on instability and division. This is how they can continue their occupation and expansion and prevent the other sides from gaining strength and a stronger voice through stability. It has been a while since their carnage in the Gaza strip and with the formation of a unified Palestinian government, it was time to release the fireworks.

"What do you think of Western civilization?" Gandhi was asked. "I think it would be a good idea," he said.

So you're saying Israel killed those kids? There was 2 years of relative peace.

Peace isn't good bidness in the ME or something?

Israel has killed several Palestinian children in this so-called relative peace, where Israel continued to increase its settlements and annex land, going against past and present agreements to halt settlement activity.

But Israel didn't kidnap and murder children did they?

I can see how this debate will go into perpetuity. Anything Hamas does is warranted because Israel is this evil apartheid state.

I haven't defended the murdering of the teens.

I am wondering about this strange outcry by Israelis and Jews who, for some reason, find it quite devastating that 3 teens have been killed, when hundreds of Palestinian children have been killed by Israel in the past several years. Not only that, but Palestinian children are regularly kidnapped and held without charge. Several human rights organizations have accused Israel of torturing these kids.

Several weeks ago, two children were killed by the IDF. Both were caught on video. The kids were not doing anything but standing.

When your sympathy only reaches out to the children of one nation alone, you have condemned all of them to this atrocious cycle of violence.

In the two to three weeks following the abduction of the three Israeli boys, at least eight Palestinians were killed during Israel’s military responses in both Gaza and the West Bank. Among them were 10-year-old Ali al-Awour, 15-year-old Mohammad Dudeen and 22-year-old Mustafa Hosni Aslan. Ali died of wounds from an Israeli missile strike in northern Gaza; Mohammad was killed by a single live bullet in the village of Dura; Mustafa was killed by live bullets in Qalandiya refugee camp during clashes with an Israeli military raid.

Ah, so it's the Jews firing all those rockets into Israel, huh? Clever people, those Jews.

How many of them were throwing bricks at Israelis?

All this is relative anyway. All the Palestinians killed in the entire history of the Intifada are a drop in the bucket to the number of Muslims the Russians have killed in Chechnya and Dagestan, the number of Muslims the Syrians have slaughtered, or the number who have died violently in Yemen, Lebanon, Libya and Iraq. Egypt sentences hundreds to death every other week, while Sudan's Islamist government continues its violent ways. For that matter, China's repression of its Muslim Uighurs in Xinjiang is worse than what the Palestinians get from Israel, and nobody gives a damn.

But for some reason, 90% of the concern from 'human rights' people on the Left focuses on the Jewish state.

'Israel' will ultimately kill every non-Nazi, though they have to wait, because the Americans only pay them to murder small children at the moment.

Probably because we expect human rights to be abused by the sorts of dictatorships you describe. It's usually a little more riveting and shocking when democracies abuse them too.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

Not really...it is far more civilized for democracies to bomb Muslims to protect their "human rights".

I am very interested in your information that the Americans are paying Israelis to murder small children. Would you please post the citations of where you learned this and how much they pay them per child?

Also, the Israelis seem to have a very powerful military, yet they have done very little in the way of killing 'non nazis', by which I am going to assume you mean 'non-Jews'. Most of the other middle-eastern nations seem to have killed many, many more people. How do you explain this?

You've right iolo. The Zionists keep on setteling on Palestinian land, taking away Palestinians' access to water, cutting down their olive trees, and other actions that make it impossible for them to continue to survive. Then blame the Palestinians when the fight back and slaughter hundreds or even thousands more with the US supplied weapons of mass destruction.

Have the Palestinian homemade rockets succeeded in killing one Zionist yet? Or at least upsetting a Zionist's milk cow in a cow pasture?

Who has the right to defend themselves? Only the chosen people?

State Dep’t says Israel has a right to defend itself, but can’t say the same of Palestinians

Spokesperson Jen Psaki began by stating:

No country can accept rocket fire aimed at civilians, and we certainly support Israel’s right to defend itself against these attacks.”

This exchange followed, at 9:25 in the video above:

QUESTION: But you feel that sort of the Israeli air raids, like maybe hundreds of them so far this day, are proportionate to the rockets?

MS. PSAKI: That’s not – I wouldn’t validate the accuracy of that number, but I would say, Said –

QUESTION: Okay. Well, the sorties – there are hundreds of sorties.

MS. PSAKI: I would say, Said, that I don’t think any country would be expected to allow rockets to come in and threaten the lives and health and well-being of the citizens in their country, and Israel has the right to defend themselves.

QUESTION: Okay. Do you believe that the Palestinians in Gaza have the right to defend themselves?

MS. PSAKI: I think – I’m not sure what you’re getting at, Said.

QUESTION: I am asking you: Do they have the right to defend themselves against Israeli aggression?

MS. PSAKI: What are you specifically referring to? Is there a specific event or a specific occurrence?

QUESTION: Do they have the right to respond to Israeli rocketing and bombing their homes, their houses, their areas, their schools?

MS. PSAKI: We’re talking about attacks from a terrorist organization, Said. I don’t think you’re –

QUESTION: No, but there is also a population –

MS. PSAKI: — we’re having a conversation about what’s happening here.

QUESTION: I mean, you agree that there is a civilian population in Gaza that is also subject to –

MS. PSAKI: Certainly, and the threat, as I mentioned earlier, to civilian populations is of great concern to us. And that’s one of the reasons why we’re so focused on encouraging all sides to de-escalate.

It's probably one of those "working from home" spam things that we keep seeing. If you actually try to get the Israelis to pay you for killing children, they will probably find a way to avoid it.

marcus, Good video which clearly shows the hypocrisy of the US. But it makes one thing perfectly clear and that is that anybody who now supports the Israeli crimes against the Palestinians is not going to change because there can no longer be any pretending and confusion over the Zionists being to blame. The US just doesn't consider that the Palestinian people have a right to defend themselves.

Might will continue to make right for a while longer but the Zionists are not going to wipe out all the Palestinians or change their determination of maintining their rights and land. If this doesn't stop, 9/11 is going to look like a walk in the park compared to future revenge attacks. The Zionists can't win this one, there's too much at stake.

Did monty16 just get busted for handlewhoring?

The only plausible explanation I can imagine is that he is signed on under two handles to make sure he had a supportive sidekick.

Monty?

Science too hard for you? Try religion!
