No they didn't. That's just the first time you heard about them.

No.  It's just the first time machete attacking became a thing in the UK. Machete hacking has become a thing for Islam in a lot of countries in Europe. Now it's happening in Canada, too.

The vast majority of knife crimes and acid attacks are simple criminality. Drug turfs, robbery etc.

Baloney.  Women, police authority and military authority, gays have all been targeted.  None of them have any association with drugs or robberies.

You are trying to link them with Islam to promote an agenda.

Islam has linked itself with random attacks on civilians and authorities - acid, machetes, vehicles, burning, etc

Driving cars into crowds is an unwanted result of the difficulty terrorist have getting hold of guns and explosives in the UK due to fighting a 30 year war with Irish republicans.

Oh, that makes me feel so much better!  Knowing they can improvise killing methods when guns and bombs are unavailable to them in their host countries.

(You do realize that van attacks are taking place now all over the world, not just in the UK, right?)

It's both.  As the article pointed out, machete attacking started with Islamist fanatics hacking a British soldier to death in broad daylight on a busy street.  The same as driving vans into crowds to  kill as many as possible started with Islamics.

Now see, Goddess, you know perfectly well that I don't see any religion as a "force for good", as I've said many times, so why do you lie like this?

54 minutes ago, Goddess said:

strokes your ego to support any "brown" people - no matter what they do.

What is it about you anti-Islam fanatics that you must couch everything in extreme terms?  I condemn sexual assault, violent behavior, most lying, cheating, murder, torture, beheadings, throwing gays off roofs, beating them to death in Stanley Park (or anywhere), jailing them, terrorism, pedophilia, child porn, anti-Semitism, Islamaphobia, domestic violence, FGM, child abuse, child marriage - regardless of faith, ethnic background or skin color.

Just because I haven't been stupid enough to fall for the "Muslims are evil", ("except for a few good ones" added so you think you don't sound Islamophobic or racist) propaganda that you and your cohorts have fallen for doesn't mean I automatically think "brown" people or even Muslims can do no wrong. I think you say that only because you have no actual good argument to what I post.

But I'll leave you now, so you can have the last word - I know you like that, and the app has notified me of another response from you.  Besides, this is getting boring again.

Ciao for now.

So you know for a fact that there were no machete attacks here before Lee Rigby do you?

As I said the vast majority of knife crime is criminal activity. Just because you can find a few which aren't you don't get to blame Islam for the rise in knife crime.

No one said that.

Not talking about knife crime.  Talking about machete attacks by Islamics on police and military authorities and all the random attacks on innocent people they don't even know.  Terrorism.  Get it?

Is there some reason why you need to deny that Islam is using machetes to random attack now?  Google machete attacks and you'll see that every country that took in Islamics, is being subjected to random machete attacks - not from crime, but random attacks on authorities and domestic violence.

It's only recently that men in Western countries have begun hacking random people and authority figures to death with machetes on a regular basis.  And while I sympathize with Dia's explanation that these people are severely damaged by their experiences in life - many other people are similarly damaged by circumstances in life and do not randomly hack people to death with machetes.

Unless you are prepared to accept that the vast majority of machete attacks have nothing to do with Islam we are just going to go around in circles.

I understand fully why you won't.

Of course I am not going to deny that machete attacks have been carried out in the name of Islam but it is gang crime which is driving the rising figures.

Hello?  No one said Islam was driving the figures - that's just your strawman, red herring fallacy to get people to stop discussing Islam.

This is what was said:  the incidences of Islam using machete attacks in its arsenal of weapons to terrorize is increasing.  In every country.

You're the only one trying to switch the discussion to "knife crime in general."

I fully understand why you and Dia need to deny this.

"Islam" is a religion. It isn't capable of action in itself.

I'm sure you realise that's an absurd statement.

Yet this conversation started with a link to an incident at a cinema showing a film about gang crime.

No one has bothered to answer my question about why the link was posted in this thread.  Mind you, I already know so it was a rhetorical question anyway.

I searched machete attacks and got nearly nothing related to terrorism. Then I searched "machete attacks terrorists" and got about one per year starting from 2013. I also found an article saying that UK has had a significant increase in machetes used in "murders, rapes, robberies and burglaries". One reason possibly being that the police has stopped 'stop & search'.

What did you find?

Frozen 2 is about gang crime?

Great! :)

Right, so you didn't even read the link past the headline.

It was a multiscreen cinema. The violence was from youths coming out of a screening of Blue Story. A film about inner city gangs which has been pulled by one cinema chain.

Hey, I'm not a fan of your profile picture either. I still talk to you.

Goddess has a unique ability to absolutely know and understand people from the most surface of interactions, often needing only a picture or a news story to deduce all kinds of things about people!  Its uncanny, really.  And from your profile pic, she's deduced that you are an evil Islamic overlord, itching to beat up women and behead gays.

Ok, so maybe you are ok with Burkas.  I'm not, I think they're ugly and dehumanizing.   I also think it's up to individuals to wear what they want.  If a Burka is forced on a woman, that is wrong as far as I'm concerned.  If it's her free choice, I shrug.

Or maybe your pic is a troll for the local crew.

I don't think which film people were seeing was the important part of that news item.

I think the point is that a story of families/kids watching Frozen being attacked by a Muslim with a machete on their way out of the theater is very different than a story about young men watching a gang flick and then getting into a brawl in which a machete was used.  You misstated the facts in an attempt to make Muslims look more violent and dangerous.  Kinda like you did with that whole t-shirt thing.

(Yeah, I was gonna ignore you for a while and let you have the last word, but you post such BS, it's hard to sit on my hands.  :()

Ya, I know where you stand on that.  If Christians did it, you'd be howling about Islamophobia and racism and inciting to violence and hatred.  But when Muslims do it, it's a "harmless prank."

Somehow I expected her to deduce that I am a female after I picked a female for my profile picture.

43 minutes ago, dialamah said:

I am, but that looks like a niqab to me. Even if it was a burqa by name — her hands show, her eyes show, it would be like a niqab.

46 minutes ago, dialamah said:

It would be difficult for an actual properly worn burqa to look pretty since it shows nothing of a person. It's dehumanizing if one is unwilling to wear it. I doubt you'd find all niqab wearing woman ugly.

Within the laws of the country it is.

I hear that often. I have never heard anyone say it should be forced on anyone. Even those who do probably mostly do so to their family members, in which case it is most likely not an issue of right and wrong at all, but a qestion of perception of honor and respect.

56 minutes ago, dialamah said:

But you just said you're not okay with them.?

57 minutes ago, dialamah said:

No, it's not. I just like the pic. I don't wear a niqab. It's also useful to be recognized as a Muslim right away.

What did you find?

In addition to the article that stated there's a machete attack every 90 minutes now in the UK? And the many articles already posted outlining machete attacks by Muslims?

Machete attacks by Islamics are increasing.  Here's why:

Quote

Incitement by terrorist groups[edit]

In May 2016, Al-Qaeda's Inspire published an article entitled. “O Knife Revolution, Head Toward America.”[2] The magazine urged Muslims to kill “the intelligentsia, economic and influential personalities of America,” by low-tech methods including stabbing attacks on the grounds that such assaults are “easy options that do not require huge efforts or man power, but the result is parallel to the big operations or even more.”[2][3]

In October 2016, Rumiyah, the online propaganda and recruitment magazine published by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) told followers that holy warriors down through Muslim history have “struck the necks of the kuffar” in the name of Allah, with "swords, severing limbs and piercing the fleshy meat of those who opposed Islam.” The magazine advised its readers that knives are easy to obtain, easy to hide, and deadly, and that they make good weapons in places where Muslims might be regarded with suspicion.[4][3]

Strange that you found "nothing".

There's been machete attacks in lots of countries - Bangladesh, Belgium, France, UK, Canada, US, Germany, etc.

A lot of them are on military or police, but also random attacks on civilians.
