I assumed they took down ridiculous posts like that, considering they took down BC_2004's recent post, which was pretty tame (no personal insults) compared to the melt downs! Very inconsistent.... Well, to be fair, we don't have any insight into other reports or requests concerning that topic and my deleted post(s). I suspect that things went south partially because I pointed out that the OP was placed in the wrong forum area without using the magic "report button". My bad.... The other day I had a post deleted within about two minutes of posting it. It took two days for them to take down another post I complained about, however. We take the polar opposite view. We believe embedding the entire video image is distracting --- particularly when folks re-quote them. Part of the reason it happens so often is that the forum software defaults to an embedded video when you simply write the URL. On mobile phones and tablets it's a huge pain in the ass to disable that by using BB code for the URL.No worries. We will convert them into text-links if we encounter them. I agree about quoting embedded videos and images, but within context. If a number of pages have gone by and you're referring to something in a posted graph, image or video, then it's nice to have it right there in the quote part of the reply. Otherwise you have to chase links to find the context of the reply. If you're quoting e,bedded media directly below a post, then I agree that it's a waste of space and clutter. Id be okay with you guys trimming quotes then. I think a blanket ban on all embedded media is a problem for expression, ease of use, and immersion though. It makes reading posts more tedious by having to chase links.

Trimming quoted posts was already a requirement for members. If people did that more, then it would reduce "clutter" and moderator workload, which is what's driving a lot of these recent actions/policies. Economics trumps Virtue.

I just think it's poor form for WCR to question someone else's suspension when in an equal world she should be cast to the shadows every now and then for her behaviour.
