Argus Posted July 7, 2014 Author Report Posted July 7, 2014 (edited) monty I've been giving you reminders about personal slams to others in your posts instead of reporting you. And of course, when you insult people, which you do frequently, it's "not meant as an insult" especially if you put a smiley or a wink in. Okay. No hypcrisy there. Boges Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 The hypocrisy is strong with many people in this thread.
monty16 Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 jacee, the rules are evolving and so anytime you think you see a violation of the rules by me, be aware that at that particular time I can show you violations of the rules by some others which I've reported and have not receive a response on.

Just sayin' ...
scribblet Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 A lot of people are unhappy with the moderating policies at MLW. This did not use to be the case. I've read far more complaints in the last year or two than I ever used to hear before. We're speaking about how to encourage more posters, yet long term members who were prolific posters have left in a huff over moderating policies. Others have simply disapeared, banned or just gone. Still others threaten to leave. What I think people don't consider is that the moderating policies have changed over the years, and what you can say on this site is now more restricted than parliament........................... I wonder if Greg will ever come back and respond to all of this and was also wondering if Greg replies to his PMs. Has anyone had a reply from Greg directly about anything ? cheers Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province
guyser Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 I wonder if Greg will ever come back and respond to all of this and was also wondering if Greg replies to his PMs. Has anyone had a reply from Greg directly about anything ? cheers When I had my other name as login and had a problem I sent many many emails. Not one reply. I had to get another name, it was hard too....I had to add a '2' to the end of my name. The horror. But yea, not one single reply.
scribblet Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 thanks... I wonder what happens to all the pms and emails he surely must receive, are they all deleted automatically after a certain length of time or does someone else check his account I wonder ? If so, then is Greg no longer actively looking after this place... Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province
waldo Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 If so, then is Greg no longer actively looking after this place... what was your first clue?
GostHacked Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 jacee, the rules are evolving and so anytime you think you see a violation of the rules by me, be aware that at that particular time I can show you violations of the rules by some others which I've reported and have not receive a response on. The rules are not evolving. They seem straightforward to me.
Michael Hardner Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 I wonder if Greg will ever come back and respond to all of this and was also wondering if Greg replies to his PMs. Has anyone had a reply from Greg directly about anything ? cheers It seems to me he gave his answer on March 21st. This is probably why I put off starting a thread about moderation; very few of you can be trusted to use judgement when it comes to posting in these forums. Seriously... go back and read this silly thread - it's pointless, full of off-topic bickering and juvenile arguments. I was looking for some constructive discussion on how better improve moderation, and I get waste of bandwidth. And some of you think I'm (and the moderators) are the problem? guyser Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 He also wrote this... I'm serious about addressing these issues, I want to make this forum as attractive and as welcome as possible. And this In the mean time, everyone's input is valued, so if you have something to say relative to moderation, please share it. Im guessing neither is really true.
cybercoma Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 Oh, Greg is absolutely right about one thing. Talking about it is indeed pointless.
Charles Anthony Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 In the meantime...... Heimlich maneuver, anyone? Watch out, BD! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBY2kFflW0g&t=2m6s We do not have time for a meeting of the flat earth society. << Où sont mes amis ? Ils sont ici, ils sont ici... >>
jbg Posted September 23, 2014 Report Posted September 23, 2014 We can see the same fragile behaviour in how the CBC moderates reader comments today. If you are really American why do you use the Canadian mis-spelling of the highlighted word? Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." bush_cheney2004 Posted September 23, 2014 Report Posted September 23, 2014 Even when the language is being Chretien-ized? That's part of the gag/schtick. But I still forget to change "check" to "cheque". Economics trumps Virtue.
waldo Posted September 23, 2014 Report Posted September 23, 2014 If you are really American why do you use the Canadian mis-spelling of the highlighted word? Even when the language is being Chretien-ized? when you resurrect this thread by referencing a ~5 month old post... when you presume to suggest "ou" usage is "Canadian mis-spelling (sic)"... when you then double-down by stating (presumably Canadian language) is being, as you said, "Chretien-ized", are you looking for a little attention... a little drama, perhaps? .

I rediscovered it in responding to the thread drift you have so helpfully assisted in creating on the Trudeau thread. I posted this even though I have no need to justify myself to you. guyser Posted September 23, 2014 Report Posted September 23, 2014 Talking about change in moderationg this place is the ultimate thread drift.....drifting to the moon, since nothing is ever done nor seen to be done nor anything. What is it now, 10 months and waiting?Thread drift in a useless thread and someone is worked up enough to say something, ignoring the multitude of issues elsewhere.Kind of like...well not kind of, actually is tantamount to complaining about leaving the porch light on while running out of your burning house.
