Let me explain more for you :

There have been times where you have removed my posts. Posts that were NOT reported in any way.

There have been posts I have reported, only to have both you and CA say 'no biggie' and leave the posts up.

Yes. We're not getting through to each other. This additional piece you have posted doesn't seem any different from the examples I posted.

So to say that it needs to be reported for you to take action seems to fly in the face of your claim

Sorry. You're changing the conversation: this is about us SEEING things. Taking action is a separate thing.

and previous actions of removing posts without anyone reporting them.

The rest of your post follows from our disconnection on all of this.

How do you know whether one of your deleted posts was reported or not?

Besides, they read the topics, maybe not every post, but lots of them. If they come across a post they think should be deleted, they do so.

I'm confused about why you're confused about the obvious.

Because posts of mine were removed I asked Mike and he confirmed he removed them even though they were not reported. Mike sent me a message with all that information.

I am not changing the conversation. This has been part of this conversation for close to 200 pages now.

You made the claim that you need items to be reported for you to even see them. Which is 100% bull as you removed some of my posts when they have NOT been reported. And even when it IS reported, most of the time, no action is taken.

I will ask other posters to chime on on this to confirm what I am saying.

Ok. I was talking about how to get us to see things. I'm assuming that part is clear then and moving on.

You made the claim that you need items to be reported for you to even see them.

No. I didn't, I said I have to SEE them. I constantly hear people saying "Why didn't you remove THIS ?" when I didn't even see it. That's what I thought we were talking about but...

This conversation seems to actually boil down to you reiterating that you are not agreeing with our assessments, but what you don't understand is: that's 100% OK. Charles and I don't agree amongst each other a lot of the time either. We're all trying our best here.

Thanks for posting.

It's very frustrating even having this conversation with you.

You said that in order for things to be SEEN by you they need to be REPORTED. Which is false, and I can verify this from your own private messages to me.

What about posting "Post removed- reported by ......".? It would be interesting to see just who has appointed themselves as "censor". I am suspicious that it is those who are the worst "pitchers" become "reporters" when they are reciprocated.

Hey - new point system? If you report a post that leads to a warning point then you get a warning point off your record!!!!!!

And if you report something that caused a suspension then you get a free "insult wild card".

We could also create a "fink of the month" award going to the one moaning and crying the most to get the most posters work off the board?

Then, we could ...... :P

Yes, in order to be certain that we have seen something you have to report it.

As I said: "If you report it then we will see it."

I apologize for the frustration but it really follows the paradigm for pointing out things to other people in the offline world.

And you're over-reacting to my removal of a 5-word long status update. Shady wasn't punished, wasn't given time off, wasn't given warning points. He received a polite explanation and a polite request to take it to the thread in the Arts and Culture forum. How is that an over-reaction?

Polite request. OK. And if he quietly disagreed with you, and just re-posted the spoiler -- then what? Would you let that go?

This seriously concerns you? You're worried douchebags aren't completely free to deliberately ruin TV shows for people here?

Wow...who knew that "TV shows" were so important to some folk....especially 'Murican TV shows. I think we can say with a 95% confidence level that U.S. media in general makes the job more difficult for MLW moderators and facilitators, so pervasive it be north of the border.

The douchebag is the one who expects others to keep secrets for you after the show has already aired. If it REALLY mattered to you, you would have already seen it.

As I understand, the mods conduct random samplings of posts, as a form of quality control so to speak. In other cases, members report posts they object to and the mods evaluate those reported posts against forum rules and other rules of internet decorum. Personally, I believe posting here is a privilege and not a right. If I cross the line in any respect I deserve and expect to be chastised. I'm OK with that.

Yeah, it's not a REALLY big deal, but he only did it to be a douchebag. The only reason for the update was to ruin it for others. It's a popular pastime among reddity-type people.

The person who removed the status is the douchebag in this scenario.

Fans of all kinds of shows live blog/tweet/etc during the shows all the time. People who are invested in the show are watching at the same time and it ENHANCES their enjoyment of it. Some shows have even set up their own sites and apps for this express purpose.

Fine, but those are specific blogs or twitter feeds that the fan subscribes to. Putting the spoiler on the front page of a general forum is where the problem stems from. There is a section where it should have gone and given the "Warning spoiler" in the title.

You still don't get it? If you don't want to know, you can avoid that stuff. There's also a thread on this forum for that where spoilers would be expected. The very reason for putting it in the status update is to be a douchebag. Removing it is just common courtesy.

And speaking as someone who probably has half his posts removed by the mods for being off topic, who cares if they remove crap? It's all crap anyway.

The very reason for complaining about spoilers is to be a douchebag. If you don't want to know, stay off the internet entirely. Spoilers of all manner are on the front page of all kinds of sites every hour of the day.

I don't know man, I've gotta "gulp" side with Bubber here. The spoiler was posted where it could not not be avoided. If I can't come here without seeing spoilers, I just won't bother coming here. I suspect I'm not alone, therefore I think the mods have a responsibility to their site to remove such posts. If there is a GoT thread, spoil away!

Hey, Bryan, next time a big movie comes out, why don't you go watch the early show, then on your way out of the theatre, shout key plot twists at people who are lined up to watch the late show.

"HEY EVERYBODY! KYLO REN IS HAN'S SON! HE MURDERS HAN!"

And later on, after you've received the ass-kicking you desperately need, perhaps you'll have a broader perspective on the issue.

That's your violent perspective....boo hoo...the world does not pivot on the plot lines of the latest (American) blockbuster media.

After one month,13 pages and 188 posts, Charles shut down the "Trump is a man baby" thread because it devolved into name calling of politicians.

It's no surprise it devolved with a title like that. Honestly, what did the mods expect? i actually didn't find it that offensive and the last few pages weren't that bad.

I found it one of the most interesting threads I paid attention to. I guess that tells a lot about me ;)
