Michael Hardner Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 How exactly does this admission play into the strategy of demonizing Chief Blair AT 815 THIS MORNING ? Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! Michael Hardner
Michael Hardner Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 Update: CBC is wondering what the end game was in picking a very public fight, pitting the Chief against the Fords at this point in the process ... I am too. Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! Michael Hardner

I am too. I don't believe that The CBC would stop talking Duffy long enough to pose that question. :-D Quote
Black Dog Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 Another interesting question: did he decide on his own to come clean (metaphorically) on his own or was he coached? I can't imagine him doing it himself, but i have no idea who would be able to convince him to cop to it. Quote
GostHacked Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 My news feed says Ford is now admitting he smoked crack ? Yup http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/mayor-rob-ford-yes-i-have-smoked-crack-cocaine-1.2415533 Quote

How else could you explain Team Ford going with the Full Court Press against Bill Blair this morning? This probably comes as a complete shock to Doug and the Lawyer. Quote
cybercoma Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 So now what? Now Ford needs to get help. Remember when his campaign manager and close friend quit and said Ford needs professional help? It's time. Quote
Boges Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 So now what? Now Ford needs to get help. Remember when his campaign manager and close friend quit and said Ford needs professional help? It's time. Who's going to make him? He's not being charged with anything. Quote
cybercoma Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 Nobody's going to make him. Why would you ask that? Quote
Topaz Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 At least, he came forward and told the truth that everyone knew about, no matter the reason for it. NOW, if only another politician could do the same. Quote
Boges Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 Dunno. I just don't see how this admission makes him any more likely to step down. He's probably feeling relieved that he doesn't have to lie about his "transgressions" anymore. Quote

This probably comes as a complete shock to Doug and the Lawyer. Maybe Doug's out of the loop now? Maybe Mom Ford said something? Or was it just a moment of clarity? Just seems so out of character and the way he worked reporters up into asking them was very planned. Quote
BubberMiley Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 How else could you explain Team Ford going with the Full Court Press against Bill Blair this morning? That's what they do: they plead victimhood and then attack. Ford's admission changes nothing; their call for Blair to resign still stands. He is clearly biased against Ford, as is the media and the leftist elites. No planned press conference, he just finally admitted. Quote
BubberMiley Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 Just more Ford Derangement Syndrome. Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet

I mean, from my POV, I don't care if he gets help or not just so long as he's not running the city anymore. Quote
cybercoma Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 I care. I hate to see drugs affecting someone's life so badly. Quote
Michael Hardner Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 The truth is the drinking is CLEARLY a problem. Doing crack once doesn't mean he's addicted to crack. Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! Michael Hardner
Black Dog Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 The truth is the drinking is CLEARLY a problem. Doing crack once doesn't mean he's addicted to crack. Assuming he only did it once. Is that a bet you'd want to make at this point? Quote
cybercoma Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 The truth is the drinking is CLEARLY a problem. Doing crack once doesn't mean he's addicted to crack.I highly doubt he did crack once. People who do crack hang out with others that do crack. It becomes a normalized part of their lifestyle. Given the company he keeps, I doubt it was once. More to the point, people who have a drinking problem, as he has admitted, generally have poor judgment and a lack of inhibition when they're drunk. If he's around people who do crack and he has been drinking, it seems pretty likely that he would be more likely to do crack. The guy needs help and I hope he gets it because the problem is quite likely more serious than the public face of it. Consider, one of his closest friends stepped down and said he needed help. So at the end of the day, I don't believe him when he says he only did it once. You don't spend all of your time with crack runners and only try it once out of curiosity. Quote

Michael Hardner Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 I highly doubt he did crack once. I think you mean to say 'once ONLY'. Unless you think Mayor Ford is now lying about ever having done crack. Actually, as per the post above, I wouldn't bet on anything to do with this story.... Boges Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 I think if he was a regular crack user there'd be ample evidence of it. Aren't crack heads easy to spot? Quote
