My statement wasn't directed at you, it is just a rant that happened to follow you comment. The source of my rant was a talk radio segment in which callers were complaining about various aspects of the season. The most common complaint was of the "keep Christ in Christmas" variety. The apparent source of caller outrage was that people have the nerve to say Happy Holidays to them instead of Merry Christmas. I like the pyromaniac comment though...I may use it.

At me? I didn't say that happy holidays or seasons greetings was an insult or an attack on Christmas. I certain never said it's some invasion of Muslims or Jews. So once again, you're a pyromaniac in a field of strawmen. Like I've already said multiple times to multiple people. Celebrate Christmas, or don't. I really couldn't care less.

The message says my comment was not directed at you. I can recommend a literacy tutor in the London area if you like.

It is a huge money maker for corporations to rake in last minute cash flow to help the bottom line at the end of the fiscal year.

I agree its a huge money maker but it should be treated as a last minute bonus cash flow, not a life-jacket.

If a company has to rely so heavily on Christmas to make it through the fiscal year, something is seriously wrong with it.

Not really.

I couldn't come up with a short list of anything I want, because if I wanted it, I already bought it. Good thing for shirts though. I can always use another shirt. So if I'm on your list, there you go.

I try to make a point not to buy too many things in November and Dec for myself so when people ask me what I want I don't have to say socks.

Sometimes the very best presents don't come with price tags and they don't require batteries. CBS News correspondent Steve Hartman has a lesson in the holiday spirit, on the road.

In your opinion, what is the spirit of the holidays all about?

What then is the meaning of Christmas? A man who in the end, died in great suffering,to redeem the sins of strangers, yet managed at his last breath,to forgive his persecutors, demonstrating to the ultimate extent the act of self sacrifice. There are those who serve themselves and those who serve others. This man taught us to look outwards than inwards. We are billions upon this earth:and alone we are a passing moment. What we can do for our own desires is unremembered;what we do for others will be a legacy.
