kimmy Posted October 12, 2013 Report Posted October 12, 2013 I was driving to work last week and "Emotional Rescue" came on the radio. What an awful song. I heard this on Galaxie last night, and loved it. Caution, the video rapidly flashes images at the viewer. It could cause an epileptic seizure, or I dunno program you to want to buy products or perform assassinations for CSIS. Just saying. There's a lot of images, your conscious can't process all of them, your subconscious might, and I suddenly feel the urge to buy a Keurig. It's your own trip, but I'm just saying. -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)

It gives even disco a bad name. I don't care for Some Girls, either. But I wholeheartedly agree with you about the "Big 4." 1968-1972 was when the Stones shone the brightest. Especially those first two of the four. Influenced so many, from Aerosmith to Guns n Roses to the Rheostatics. (Incidentally, you can't even watch a Martin Scorcese movie without hearing "Gimme Shelter" played. ) Quote “There is a limit to how much we can constantly say no to the political masters in Washington. All we had was Afghanistan to wave. On every other file we were offside. Eventually we came onside on Haiti, so we got another arrow in our quiver." --Bill Graham, Former Canadian Foreign Minister, 2007

AngusThermopyle Posted October 27, 2013 Report Posted October 27, 2013 Very sad about Lou. I was never really a fan of his but have to admit that he was influential. This weekend I'm listening to the new Paul McCartney album, New. Great album, lots of really good songs. This man just keeps going and going. Undoubtedly one of the real music greats. kimmy Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 I had actually not heard "Perfect Day" prior to it being featured in the current TV ads for the Playstation 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsgQw5EToE4 As with Angus, I never cared for Lou Reed, but I can understand that he's respected. Even though he's not among my favorites, he's been on my stereo a lot recently as he contributed vocals to the chorus of this song from last year's Metric record: -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)

kimmy Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 I saw Trainspotting, although it was a long time ago. I didn't remember that song being in that scene for some reason. I do remember Blondie very clearly, though. -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)
