kimmy Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 This picture was obviously taken from an angle that doesn't show the team of Secret Service men holding back a swarm of angry, Tea-Partying toddlers, irate that grandma will live or die at the mercy of "Death Squads", demanding to see his real birth-certificate, and chanting to have curling-irons rammed up people's behinds. That man-in-black looks worried, and he should be. This think could blow up any second! I do think it's kinda funny that he took his teleprompters to what appears to be a pre-school, though. -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)
August1991 Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) There is nothing pathetic in this. Obama gave a speech in a class room. You can see the White House video here. I happen to think that Obama speaks well, and says the right thing. Obama is right to take time for this. Obama also knows that he is not speaking to kids in one school; he is speaking to thousands, millions of people. The teleprompter makes it easier to send his message. But when he has to, Obama speaks well off the cuff. .The right will lose with this TOTUS tack. Edited January 25, 2010 by August1991 Quote

Smallc Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 And it's doubtful that you could speak as well with or without one. I actually have the same problem as him. I can write a speech and deliver it brilliantly (though not as well as him, but I do receive numerous compliments when I do), but take the paper away, and make me go off the cuff, and I sound like a bumbling idiot. Because of the way my mind works (and I suspect he has the same problem) with so many thoughts racing around and never stopping, it's hard to form a complete coherent thought without a very well laid out guide. You use any opportunity to pick him apart, and it really causes you to lose credibility. Focus on issues, not idiotic nonsense. Quote
August1991 Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 No, it's completely pathetic. He has to drag his teleprompter into a classroom of 6th graders. You and I know that Obama wasn't speaking to a Grade 6 class. He was speaking to a much broader audience, and wisely, Obama decided to take care in his speech. Can Obama speak off the cuff, without a teleprompter? Of course he can. Obama has many weaknesses but the Right is mistaken in choosing the Teleprompter meme. Quote

BubberMiley Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Palin can deliver a good speech when it is written for her. No. She still sounds stupid. Harper doesn't have a good voice, but he can speak with or without a prepared speech in front of him, something that I can't do.
