Smallc Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Obviously you didn't watch her convention speech. It was fantastically delivered, and brought the house down! You would think that it was fantastically delivered if she had sounded like an Alaskan hillbilly...oh, wait... Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 At least Chretien had a good reason why his speech is impaired. What's Palin's excuse? Palin doesn't need any excuses.....a proof is a proof! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
bush_cheney2004 Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 You would think that it was fantastically delivered if she had sounded like an Alaskan hillbilly...oh, wait... That's how all Americans sound to you and Heather Mallick. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
GostHacked Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Palin doesn't need any excuses.....a proof is a proof! So one needs a couple strokes to come down to Palin's level. Gotcha. Quote
Moonlight Graham Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 No, it's completely pathetic. He has to drag his teleprompter into a classroom of 6th graders. He wasn't speaking to 6th graders. Quote "All generalizations are false, including this one." - Mark Twain Partisanship is a disease of the intellect.
bush_cheney2004 Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 So one needs a couple strokes to come down to Palin's level. Gotcha. What is Palin's "level"? How many books have you sold? Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Shady Posted January 25, 2010 Author Report Posted January 25, 2010 At least Chretien had a good reason why his speech is impaired. What's Palin's excuse? Excuse for what? Having an accent? People have all kinds of accents and speaking styles depending on where they live, or where they grew up. Anyhow, since when is Sarah Palin an excuse for something Barack Obama does? This chump needs a teleprompter to speak to a 6th grade class. Pathetic. But it's just a metaphor for his presidency. This guy has been a complete disaster. It's pretty apparent now, then when Hillary Clinton insisted that he wasn't ready to lead, voters should have listened. Quote
Smallc Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 That's how all Americans sound to you and Heather Mallick. Did I not just compliment barack Obama's speaking ability? Troll away.... Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Did I not just compliment barack Obama's speaking ability? Troll away.... That's mighty white of you! He is a very "clean" and "well spoken" Negro! Just ask Harry Reid. LOL! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

August1991 Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 This is what President Teleprompter sounds like when speaking in front of a large group, without his magical device! Give it a rest, Shady. Imagine how many speeches Obama has given over the past two years. If this is the most incoherent he has been (and he even laughs at himself) then I'd say he is a good public speaker - without a teleprompter.Palin can deliver a good speech when it is written for her. Does that mean the 'left' is wrong to criticize her inability to sound coherent when unscripted?I'm trying to figure out what you mean, Riverwind. Are you suggesting that Obama is incoherent when he is unscripted?----- My basic point is that critics of Obama are wrong to use this TOTUS argument. Obama is an intelligent man and capable of thinking for himself. Quote

bush_cheney2004 Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 How many books has she read? At least 66.....39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Obama is an intelligent man and capable of thinking for himself. The TOTUS argument isn't necessarily about intelligence, it's about a certain level of detachment, and I would say coldness, and an endless need for scripted dialogue. Quote
Smallc Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 and an endless need for scripted dialogue. Or maybe he just thinks the President should sound...presidential...as much as possible. Quote
GostHacked Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 What is Palin's "level"? How many books have you sold? Selling books equates good articulate public speaking? I was not aware of that!! Quote
GostHacked Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Excuse for what? Having an accent? People have all kinds of accents and speaking styles depending on where they live, or where they grew up. Chretien had a couple strokes, hence the reason his speech is impaired, regardless of his main disability which is being Quebecois. As others explained, the event is televised to many schools and many students in different grades. I don't understand why this is so hard to comprehend. This is the last I will post in this thread. It's going nowhere fast. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Selling books equates good articulate public speaking? I was not aware of that!! See "Oprah Winfrey Show". Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
bush_cheney2004 Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 ...This is the last I will post in this thread. It's going nowhere fast. No, it went where somebody wanted it to go...to Governor Palin. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Shady Posted January 25, 2010 Author Report Posted January 25, 2010 This is the last I will post in this thread. It's going nowhere fast. Aww, poor guy. Couldn't successfully turn this into a Sarah Palin thread? How about you tell us how irrelevant she is again! LOL. Did you hear that she's campaigning in Arizona for a couple of candidates down there? Once again, worst prediction ever! Quote
Guest American Woman Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) You know what they say, a picture's worth a thousand words... PIC OMG!!! It's pathetic for Obama to speak to school children ..... why?? Good Lord. You started your 55th thread about Obama to criticize him for speaking to school children? I'm guessing you had the same disdain for Bush when he read to school children, eh? You seriously need to get a hobby (other than starting threads about Obama.....).
