That's a really short list and highly debatable at that. He did not govern like Donald Trump in that Trump never de-banked people because of their political views nor did he try to pass legislation that could put people in jail for life for posting the 'wrong' views on social media.

What would you list as Justin Trudeau's greatest accomplishments as PM?

I have previously mentioned another case where a man felt threatened by another and then proceeded to stab him to death. He did not attempt to restrain him, pulling out a knife and stabbing him. Like Jordan Neely, the man that got stabbed was also threatening others. This case didn't attract the same kind of attention as the Penny/Neely case, probably because of race. And Jordan Neely had a long record and history of assaults. 42 prior arrests. The Democrats in charge just kept putting him back on the streets. https://nypost.com/2023/06/28/accused-j-train-stabber-dodges-manslaughter-charges-in-fatal-nyc-subway-brawl-sources/ “Under New York law, a person is justified in using deadly physical force when they reasonably believe it is necessary to use such force to defend themselves or others from imminent use of deadly or unlawful physical force.” -
You want to tax the investor class. The wealthy already pay the lion's share of the taxes. Most of the government’s federal income tax revenue comes from the nation’s top income earners. In 2021, the top 5% of earners — people with incomes $252,840 and above — collectively paid over $1.4 trillion in income taxes, or about 66% of the national total. If you include the top 10% — everyone who made at least $169,800 — that figure rises to $1.7 trillion, or 76% of the total. The top 50% of earners contributed 97.7% of federal income tax revenue. Corporations do pay taxes too. And when they get taxed more, they can pass them on to consumers.

A false moral equivalence if ever there was one. -
I'm of the opinion that gun bans are not so much about protecting the people but more about protecting the government and neutralizing a possible threat to them.

Lauren addressed this recently. It's a fact of life that countries interfere in the affairs of other countries to some degree. Personally I have more concern about the influence of the CCP in Canada rather than Putin. I do subscribe to her channel and love her content. I would urge others to check it out for for themselves.

Daniel Penny Trial

A tale of two cases. In this other one, a man felt threatened on the subway and stabbed another person to death. -
More people collecting, but apparently not enough people paying into the fund to meet projected demand. Looking solely at the trust fund that covers retirement and survivor benefits, Social Security will only be able to afford scheduled payments in full until 2033, roughly the same projection as last year. At that time, the fund’s reserves will be depleted, and continuing income will only cover 79% of benefits owed.

But it seems that Social Security in the US has been on shake ground for some time and historically both parties have been afraid to address that issue. https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/06/politics/social-security-trust-fund-benefits/index.html Social Security and Medicare will not be able to fully pay benefits in just over a decade if lawmakers don’t act to address the pending shortfalls, according to reports released Monday by the entitlement programs’ trustees. While the trust funds’ finances improved slightly, they remain in dire shape.

The long term goal of the Liberals is to disarm the Canadian people. And in the US there are clearly a lot of Democrats that do not support the Second Amendment. Progressive politicians are just doing it in incremental steps.

Collapse of American justice

Speaking of American justice and the notion that nobody is above the law... A blanket pardon. -

2% Defense GDP by 2030

I think Liberals and Conservatives can share blame on this issue. Governments of the past and present were always more talk than action when it came to procurement and recruitment. -
Who? The Democrats have to decide if they'll keep moving even farther to the left or perhaps a bit back towards the centre( but still far from it). I think Gavin Newsom might be considered a favorite even though he is also far-left and hasn't been good for California. When they picked wacky Tim Walz over Josh Shapiro, it meant they wanted to go farther left. Hillary may even run again.
