  1. True, everybody does fart but one should not do it in the presence of others...especially in the presence of royalty.?
  2. A pretty interesting video with John Robson from the University of Ottawa.
  3. The vast majority of climate scientists are telling us we face a crisis and we have to act. No such survey has ever been taken. The surveys that have been taken say that scientists agree greenhouse gases have a warming influence and it may create some problems in the future, but they don’t agree it’s a crisis. In fact, the last IPCC Report concluded: “For most economic sectors, the impact of climate change will be small relative to the impacts of other drivers. Changes in population, age, income, technology, relative prices, lifestyle, regulation, governance, and many other aspects of socioeconomic development will have an impact on the supply and demand of economic goods and services that is large relative to the impact of climate change.” The real crisis is that we are being fed so much misinformation on the issue. So you're saying you don't believe the science? The “science" makes a lot of different claims based on a lot of different lines of evidence. You can't "believe" all of it because it's full of inconsistencies. Do you believe the scientific data that shows less warming than predicted by climate models? Or the science that shows hurricanes aren't more frequent or more severe? I certainly don't believe alarmist interpretations of the science that cherry-pick computer simulations and try to frighten us with implausible worst-case scenarios. A better question is whether you mainly believe the models or the data, because in a lot of key areas they disagree with each other.
  4. I would suggest that since almost all democratic world leaders do an enormous amount of talking on the subject of global warming they are the one's that have an huge amount of financial resources at their disposal. They have been extremely effective in manipulating public opinion too since most people seem to think the world as we know it will end in 10 years give or take. And I believe there are more than only one solution to this supposed man-made problem. Adapting to the change rather than reversing it seems to make much more sense. I fear that common sense will lose out in this battle. Remember that for all the bleating coming from our leaders they themselves have absolutely no intention of changing their own gigantic carbon footprint lifestyles. That's for the little people like us to endure and shoulder the entire burden.

  6. Biden's Energy Secretary. Watch: Biden's Energy Secretary Laughs When Asked if There Is a Plan to Bring Gas Prices Down (ijr.com) Biden has turned into Bernie Sanders. This is disgraceful to put it as mildly as I can.
  7. This site is quite interesting. Not the usual fear-mongering from the alarmists. Climate Discussion Nexus
  8. I'm not certain but it seems Canada's emissions are continuing to rise under Justin Trudeau. Oil and SUVs: Why Canada's emissions have risen since Trudeau took office (climatechangenews.com) I don't know what the future holds and have nothing against anyone pushing for electric cars but they are not for everyone.

  10. I'm pretty sure there were plenty of abortions , gay marriages etc during Trump's term. No real impediments to the right to vote either. Special bathrooms? Male washrooms, female washrooms. How many different kinds do you guys want? How about the right to free speech and the right to bear arms? Are you capable of making your point without hurling insults?
  11. I'm not a small business owner but I'll wager the mom and pop businesses which don't have huge resources will have a difficult time paying employees these higher wages.
  12. I'm pretty certain that there will have to be a massive hike in the cost of electricity to replace gas tax revenue. The 11% figure comes from a clip on Motoring TV. I'm not against anyone wanting and buying an electric car but I don't like the subsidies.
  13. There will be issues with electric cars too that nobody likes to talk about. I'm all for innovation and for letting the free market decide. In Canada the figure I've seen from a few years ago suggests that cars are responsible for 11% of the emissions .
  14. MH and I both believe that it's Russian disinformation, me with the Steele dossier and he with the Hunter Biden laptop.?
  15. Will the admission that the whole thing was fake get as much coverage and air time as when this fake story first surfaced?
  16. I don't even have to look to know there will be little or no mention of this in the MSM with the exception of FOX. The Clinton's don't have to worry much.
  17. Are you ok with just getting another job? Something year round and not seasonal if that's what it is now?
  18. More news from COP26: COP26 serves leaders 'high-carbon' food despite climate fears | The Post Millennial As the article states, the climate change alarmist's want the rest of us to eat insects.
  19. I thought I would check out the Lincoln Project website to see what they're all about. There is most certainly a lot of vitriol directed at the Republican party and virtually nothing negative about the Democrats and their fast track to the extreme left. Yes they do absolutely suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome. They Lincoln Project is Republican like Nicolle Wallace is Republican.
  20. Virginia election is tonight so I'll predict the Dems win. Something about 200,000 plus absentee ballots already in and over 100,000 yet to be received. It sounds like it might be close but when I heard about all those ballots floating around I figured it's likely already in the bag( pun intended) for the Dems.?
  21. India has announced it plans to be carbon neutral by 2070. They are the world's third largest emitter. The Indian prime minister made it clear that he expects developed countries to pay for some or most of it. Ballsy. I'm sure Justin Trudeau is eager to promise to make Canadians foot the bill for nuclear armed India and the rest, China included.
  22. My question to my MP and his answer: Mr.Trudeau's recent announcement at the COP26 summit is yet another nail in the coffin of the Canadian oil and gas industry. If Mr.Trudeau thinks for one second that China( the world's largest emitter )is going to follow Canada's lead he is truly dreaming. Once the Canadian oil and gas industry is dead will all the lost revenue be replaced from massive price increases in the cost of electricity? Will there be a fundamental change in Canada's equalization formula in the future seeing as how Ontario and the Western provinces have had to heavily subsidize Quebec and the Atlantic provinces? Thank you His response: Thanks for sharing your concerns. We know that we can’t ignore the climate crisis. Just in our region record high floods and even tornadoes have caused incredible damage and have left many in our community without homes. Despite this, we also know that we can’t rush the transition to a green economy because thousands of Canadians depend on the oil and gas industry to make a living. That’s why the government will set 5-year targets, and will also ensure that the sector makes a meaningful contribution to meeting Canada’s 2030 climate goals. The government is also seeking the advice of the Net-Zero Advisory Body on how best to move forward on this approach. Canada is leading the way toward a clean energy future by finding real solutions that the world is seeking. Together with Canadians, global partners, and industry, the government will continue to tackle the climate crisis so we can create new middle-class jobs and build a better, cleaner future for everyone. As for equalization, it is drawn from federal, not provincial tax revenues. It is money Ottawa has collected from across the country — including Quebec and Atlantic taxpayers. This money is handed out by the federal government to ensure provinces with smaller economies are able to offer the same level of services as those with access to more tax revenues. Thanks again for reaching out. My thoughts: I give him credit for replying but as expected it's pretty vague and he ignored my question about electricity prices. But words like these greatly appeal to progressives so they don't have to contain specifics. No actual mention of what will replace oil and gas. One would think that if you have the answer you would be shouting it from the rooftops. (A Liberal MP)
