  1. I do have to point out that our current PM has placed his financial bets on both sides of the table. He will earn a lot from all of the sketchy green initiatives while he also has a stake in foreign oil companies(including pipelines!), as well as timber harvesting, car companies, mining companies etc. It's certainly fair game to be critical of my position on these matters, just as it is for me to point out how Carney is playing all sides, and progressives aren't paying attention to what he's up to.
  2. I favour free markets. Lower taxes. Smaller, more efficient government. Foreign aid should be cut. No carbon taxes. No EV mandates. Lower immigration from countries and cultures that do not share our values. More oil and gas development. More pipelines. Actual deportations of undesirable people. Carney and the Liberals are the one's that push for massive government overreach in our society. Carney stands to reap huge financial rewards because of his policy initiatives.
  3. Yes, there certainly are serious issues in Canada and some of blame for that must lie with bad government policies that have a negative effect on the poorest. Carbon taxes past and present, mass immigration, way too much spending. But there are enough people that just keep putting the same bunch in again and again so things are not likely to change for the better. I would be happy if our per capita gdp was on par with the US, the cost of living was more reasonable, less crime, more unity in the country, but those things aren't changing for the better. While exact counts of food bank locations per year are not consistently tracked publicly, the use of food banks has surged dramatically since 2015: Visits to food banks have roughly doubled since 2019, rising from under 1.1 million visits per month to over 2 million. Food Banks Canada+1 The increase in visits reflects rising food insecurity and greater reliance on these services even among employed people.
  4. It still should be very concerning that the son, who was born in Australia, was radical enough that he chose to do what he did. Muslims(not all), can be and are being radicalized on Western soil.
  5. Justin Trudeau's former advisor isn't exactly singing the praises of how this plan was put into practice. Like most things with this government, this hasn't been a success. Apart from the fact it likely added a lot to Carney's investment portfolio.
  6. What did you think of the highly edited video that the BBC put out? Do you believe it was good journalism to selectively edit the footage the way they did? CBS did the same thing with a Kamala Harris interview, except that they edited and spliced the footage in a way that made it look like Harris was giving intelligent responses when the actual video showed otherwise.
  7. The cost of living in Canada is pretty high and it's not unreasonable to pin at least some of the blame for that on Liberal mismanagement since 2015. Carney has been PM for less than a year but prior to that he had been involved with the Liberals in an advisory role for 5 years. Carney himself publicly stated that Canada's economy was weak even before Trump came along. Increased spending, more debt, more money to serve the interest on the debt. As of the most recent data available (2024/2025), about 21 %–21.5 % of Canada’s total workforce is employed in government-related jobs when counting all levels of government (federal, provincial/territorial, and municipal). This includes traditional “public administration” roles as well as government-funded services such as education and health care. Over 20% of our workforce are government related jobs...pure insanity. I do think the Liberals are going to keep winning since the majority of their supporters hate Trump and Poilievre more than they love Canada. The actual sad state of our country doesn't seem to be a concern for them.
  8. It would be nice if there were no dictators, warlords and oligarchs but I doubt that there could ever be unanimous agreement on exactly who those people are. I hate to say it, but some countries will always be sh*tholes no matter how much money the West gives to them. And Mark Carney will never agree to syncing the world's tax systems because he is a member of that elite group which does use the system to his advantage.
  9. How exactly is it going to play out if Trump plans to annex Canada through economic force? Is he going to try and keep bringing manufacturing and other businesses back to US soil? That makes perfect sense for the US. Our Prime Minister seems to be on board with that given the details of which country he chose to put the bulk of his personal investments in. Carney is primarily interested in enriching himself and everything else is secondary. You call me xenophobic while you say Greenland not be 'forced' to assimilate with 'people that have no cultural, ethnic, or historical ties to'? You don't want it for Greenland but you're fine with it in Canada? As I have stated previously, I can't blame Trump for wanting to get Greenland as it makes sense. Just as it made sense when previous administrations tried to get it. China is much more of a threat to Canada than the US is.
  10. Interesting. How do you feel about Canada's official policy of mass immigration from countries that have no cultural, ethnic, or historical ties to us?
  11. Orban seems to be one of the very few leaders in Europe with common sense. Hungary isn't suffering the same kinds of problems that the mass immigration-loving nations are going through. I think Canada should follow his lead as far as immigration goes.
  12. Latest GDP Growth (Official BEA Data) Real U.S. GDP grew at an annualized rate of 4.3% in the third quarter of 2025 (July–September). This was a stronger-than-expected expansion and the fastest pace in about two years. Why These Numbers Matter The 4.3% Q3 growth is above many forecasts and reflects strong consumer demand and ongoing business investment, particularly in technology and equipment. You despise Trump but these numbers are pretty respectable are they not? GPT says gasoline " on average in the U.S., gasoline tends to be higher in “blue” states and lower in “red” states when you look at state-level pump prices. A number of analyses of recent AAA gasoline price data have found this pattern: red states (typically those that vote Republican) often have some of the lowest average prices per gallon, while blue states (those that vote Democrat) often have some of the highest." Pew Research Center: (this would be an estimate of the total number of illegals, not just those that came in under Biden/Harris) The unauthorized immigrant population in the U.S. reached a record **about 14 million in 2023, based on the most comprehensive data available. Preliminary evidence suggests it likely remained around or above that level into 2024–2025, though enforcement increases and policy changes may have slowed growth or caused a slight decline.
  13. Jess Lee Peterson doesn't beat around the bush lol. In other news, three men are charged in the UK for plotting to attack a certain group of other people... I wonder what faith these three guys followed? https://www.gmp.police.uk/news/greater-manchester/news/news/2025/december/Three-men-convicted-after-CTPNW-investigation-into-antisemitic-terror-plot-in-Greater-Manchester/
  14. I believe the answers were genuine. On both sides. There must be some on the 'Palestinian' side that would love to have peace but they are likely very few in number. And if they spoke out publicly, they would likely face a swift and violent end courtesy of Hamas.
  15. The first link does state that "The building was without a permit, like many in Silwan, and stood on land that was not licensed for residential use. The residents were challenging long-standing demolition orders and applying for licensing when diggers arrived at dawn. The Jerusalem Municipality said the demolition of the building in Silwan was based on a 2014 court order, and that residents were granted extensions for the execution of the order and were offered various options in order to find a solution, but they declined to do so." In the second link, the man likely isn't a terrorist but the reality is that Israel faces security threats from all directions and they have no choice but to be extremely vigilant with goods and people coming and going through various checkpoints. There have been attacks on Israel from the West Bank. Of course they will take that very seriously. The Palestinian Authority is kind of like 'Hamas lite'.
  16. How is Canada's economy doing compared to the US? The U.S. economy recorded a strong third-quarter 2025 GDP growth of ~4.3 % annualized—its fastest pace in two years and much stronger than consensus forecasts. Canada’s economy saw a contraction in October 2025 (about −0.3 %), the largest monthly drop in almost three years, although preliminary data hinted at slight growth in November. United States leads: Recent GDP data shows strong growth and outperforming expectations. 📉 Canada lags: Latest figures point to soft or contracting quarterly growth and forecasts of below-trend expansion. Reuters Broader reports have forecast below-trend GDP growth around ~1.2 % for 2025 overall.
  17. I think people that choose not to go along with the whole trans agenda does not fit the definition of 'Christian hate'. It used to be called gender dysphoria. You did choose to single out Christians but not mention Muslim-Americans. I guarantee you that basically ALL Muslims categorically reject the trans agenda much more so than Christians. Democracy, women's rights, lgbt rights, human rights in general, why does the leftist ideology push always suddenly become silent when it involves Islam?
  18. E Jean Carroll was pretty well known because of her claims against Trump and she and her lawyer did lobby to get that law passed in order to override the statute of limitations. It's reasonable to assume that her voice carried a lot more weight with Democrats because it was Trump she was going after. https://pjmedia.com/matt-margolis/2023/05/11/trumps-nut-job-accuser-helped-get-law-passed-that-allowed-her-to-sue-him-n1694585?utm_source=chatgpt.com One of the more curious aspects of this case was that the only reason Carroll was even able to sue Donald Trump was because of a law passed in New York in 2022 called the Adult Survivors Act. This legislation, signed by Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul, introduced a “one-year lookback window for survivors of sexual assault” to legally pursue their alleged abusers, irrespective of when the abuse took place. Many argued it was passed specifically to let Carroll take her absurd allegations to court and punish Trump It turns out those claims weren’t mere conspiracy theories. In a surprising revelation, E. Jean Carroll’s attorney, Roberta Kaplan, acknowledged that Carroll played a role in advocating for the passage of the aforementioned law.
  19. Why didn't the Biden/Harris DOJ release the files when they had all the time in the world to do it? Surely they would have done it if there was anything incriminating in there?
  20. Other presidents have made attempts to buy Greenland. They almost succeeded in 1867. The reasons for wanting it haven't really changed over time. The US has always wanted it for its strategic and resource potential. And they have had a long military presence there to varying degrees. At one point they even had an underground, nuclear powered base in the 1960s. I would agree that Trump should be much more diplomatic in his approach and choose his words carefully.
  21. Based on the images and video taken during the Biden/Harris term, the southern border sure looked open to me.
  22. So you're saying that anyone who entered the US illegally and managed to evade law enforcement for a long period of time, should therefore not be subject to deportation?
  23. More news from Toronto: Three men accused of hunting women and Jews on Toronto streets as part of hate plot A 26-year-old Toronto man has been arrested and charged with ISIS-linked terrorism offences and two other men are charged for alleged hate-motivated extremism targeting women and members of the Jewish community. The federal terrorism investigation and related probes by Toronto police and Peel police follow violent incidents of armed men trying to abduct women from the street, one in May and two in June. Waleed Khan, Osman Azizov, 18, Fahad Sadaat, 19. https://ca.news.yahoo.com/three-men-charged-allegedly-hunting-165058484.html
  24. It could have been titled 'Why are progressives so anti-Israel? Why do they always side with radical Islam instead of progressive Israel?'
  25. On deportations alone, are you aware that Obama deported a lot more than Trump? I think the vast majority of people would be surprised to hear that.
