ICE Finally Fires Back!
ironstone replied to Nationalist's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
How will you reply to this? Claim it's AI? She deserved to get shot. Period. The same standard has to apply to anyone using a vehicle as a weapon against law enforcement or civilians. -
Somali fraud in Minnesota is like whack-a-mole except that the Democrats were not whacking but rather, gently tapping and looking away at the same time. Somalis appear to be busy in some other states too. But you shouldn't despair. There is the chance that more judges like Sarah West(Democrat appointed) will oversee more of these Somali fraud cases. Minneapolis judge sparks fury by overturning taxpayer $7.2m fraud conviction, as Somalis 'scam Minnesota out of $1 BILLION' https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15343099/minneapolis-minnesota-fraud-scheme-overturned-judge-abdifatah-yusef.html

Did Denmark annex Greenland? . GPT-4o mini Yes, Denmark annexed Greenland in the early 18th century. The formal annexation occurred in 1721, when Denmark claimed sovereignty over Greenland, establishing a colony. Over time, Greenland remained a part of the Danish Kingdom, although it gained home rule in 1979 and further autonomy in 2009, allowing it to govern many of its internal affairs. However, Denmark still retains control over foreign affairs and defense. Did the Biden administration ever express interest in Greenland? Yes, the Biden administration has shown interest in Greenland, particularly in terms of its strategic and environmental significance. The U.S. sees Greenland as important for several reasons: Climate Change: Greenland's melting ice sheets due to climate change draw attention to issues of global significance. The administration emphasizes the need for cooperation with Greenland to address climate challenges. Strategic Military Interests: Greenland's location is crucial for Arctic security, and the U.S. maintains Thule Air Base there, which is a key military installation. The Biden administration continues to monitor developments in the Arctic region, particularly concerning China and Russia's activities. Renewable Energy: Interest in Greenland's natural resources, including potential for renewable energy developments, aligns with the Biden administration's focus on clean energy alternatives. While the direct interest may not have reached the levels of former President Trump's proposal to buy Greenland, the Biden administration’s approach reflects a broader commitment to Arctic engagement and cooperation. I don't care for the language that Trump has been using with regard to Greenland but he's always been very blunt and straight to the point when he speaks and this issue is no different. If Biden(his puppeteers) had managed to reach a deal with Greenland, he would have been hailed as a genius and great statesman.

This search engine states that the US has had a military presence in Greenland since 1941. GPT-4o mini The United States has maintained a military presence in Greenland since 1941. This began during World War II when the U.S. established bases to secure its interests and protect against potential threats from Axis powers. Key Milestones: 1941: The U.S. and Denmark (then under German occupation) agreed on the establishment of a military presence. 1943: The U.S. built bases, notably Thule Air Base, which is still operational today and plays a significant role in American airborne early warning and missile defense systems. The military presence has evolved over the decades but has remained consistent since its inception during World War II. Russia and China's Interest in Greenland Both Russia and China are expressing interest in Greenland, primarily due to its strategic location and resource potential within the Arctic region. Russia's Perspective Geopolitical Strategy: Russia views Greenland as a critical area for expanding its influence in the Arctic. The country has been actively enhancing its military infrastructure in the region, which includes opening several military bases and restoring old Soviet installations. This military buildup coincides with growing concerns about NATO's activities in the Arctic. Now which of the superpowers would you prefer to have on Greenland?

The Left's Violent Nature Reimurges
ironstone replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Studies like this and others should be taken with a grain of salt. "Study on political violence omits pro-abortion attacks, BLM, and Antifa" Cato Institute’s Alex Nowrasteh only counts murders and excludes the 9/11 terrorist attacks to get to the conclusion conservatives are more violent. He labels the 9/11 attacks as “Islamism,” not leftism. That might be fair to do, insofar as the single event would be an outlier that would account for 83 percent of all political murders. What was included as right wing violence? The project labels as right-violence murkier cases, including “Linda Mueller and two friends” who “were arrested for peacefully protesting outside of an abortion clinic in West Chester, PA. But in only choosing murder, Nowrasteh discounts the criminal activity of Black Lives Matter, Antifa, and pro-abortion groups that attacked pro-life groups in the wake of the reversal of Roe v. Wade in 2022. Liberals rely on skewed studies to claim right-wing violence is more common https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/liberals-rely-on-skewed-studies-to-claim-right-wing-violence-is-more-common/ar-AA1N3jwk If the killer doesn't fit the narrative... SORRY, MEDIA, AARON LONG ISN’T THE WHITE SUPREMACIST YOU WERE HOPING FOR Notably missing from the list is convicted killer Darrell E. Brooks, who deliberately drove into a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Brooks posted anti-white and anti-police content on social media, comparing police officers to Ku Klux Klan members and advocating violence against white people. All six of his victims, including an 8-year-old boy, were white.- 63 replies

India and various Muslim countries? I don't think it's 'rabid conservatism' that's driving them here since they bring their religions and culture with them. It may have more to do with wanting to take over than escaping oppression. A lot of them want to live in Canada pretty much as they did in their home countries. Canada is the land of milk and honey.

Canadian First Nations financial Data
ironstone replied to Goddess's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Why would anyone be opposed to something as reasonable as Stephen Harper's First Nations Accountability Act? The decision to scrap the Act was a petty action done by a very petty man. First Nations get a LOT of money so what's wrong with some accountability on their part? I realize some bands do publish numbers but others choose not to. -
It was an opinion. And it was a wrong opinion. Only in the wacky world of the left does someone telling his supporters to peacefully protest somehow get construed as he wanted them to riot. In legal matters, the opinion of Alan Dershowitz will always 'trump' those of smith's, whether it's a robo or a Jack.

Canadian First Nations financial Data
ironstone replied to Goddess's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Search The Indian Affairs budget in Canada has seen a significant increase since 2015. The budget for Indigenous services has nearly tripled, growing from approximately CAD 11 billion in 2015 to over CAD 32 billion in 2025. This represents an increase of about 181% over the decade. So, an enormous amount of money being directed to the Indian Affairs budget. And yet, there are still serious housing issues with First Nations people. GPT-4o mini Yes, there are significant housing problems on First Nation reserves in Canada. These issues include: Insufficient Housing Many First Nations face a severe shortage of adequate housing. Some communities have long waiting lists for homes, leading to overcrowding. Poor Housing Quality A substantial number of homes on reserves are in disrepair, with issues like mold, inadequate insulation, and lack of running water. This can contribute to health problems among residents. Isn't this a clear indication that all that money is not being used in a prudent manner? Chief Ron Giesbrecht of the tiny Kwikwetlem First Nation in British Columbia’s lower mainland took home an eye-popping $914,219 in 2013. The band has a population of only 82! Chief Paul Sam of Shuswap Indian Band in BC, with 87 residents, earned $202,413 in 2013. Many Shuswap reserve residents have asked questions for more than a decade about the band’s spending, even going so far as to occupy the band office demanding answers that, until now, went unanswered. The houses are in disrepair. Band members are living with no water and sewer! -
Convict him for what exactly? He isn't responsible for Jan 6. You guys still can't name a real crime. I'll always refer to the actual law professor that has repeatedly stated that at worst, his 'crimes' were misdemeanors that were turned into felonies. Would you be happier if Maduro was still running Venezuela? Would you be open to changing your mind if things get demonstrably better for Venezuelans from now on?

These people genuinely hate Donald Trump more than any other person on earth. They don't care what Maduro and Chavez before him have done to their own people. Starvation, deep poverty, targeting political opponents, stealing elections, drug trafficking...they just don't care. Politically, many of them are probably more aligned with Maduro/Chavez than with the American president.

Ukraine appears to be a rather corrupt country and I doubt Freeland has any concerns about that. Why have the Liberals been sending tens of billions to Ukraine? No surprise, but there is a Brookfield connection so Mark Carney stands to make a lot of money from the reconstruction. Brookfield Asset Management's Role in Rebuilding Ukraine Brookfield Asset Management is poised to play a significant role in the rebuilding of Ukraine due to its focus on infrastructure and renewable energy investments. The firm is actively engaging with various sectors that are crucial for Ukraine’s recovery and economic reformation.

Maduro was indicted in a New York court in March of 2020(during Biden/Harris) including charges of narcoterrorism and conspiracy to import cocaine into the US. The Chavez government in 2007, nationalized the oil industry, taking control of several major oil fields and refineries that were previously operated by foreign companies, including American firms like ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips. Nationalizing might be considered just a fancy term for stealing. Do you believe that the Biden administration had no right to offer a reward for the arrest of capture of Nicolas Maduro?

POLITICAL PREDICTIONS FOR 2026
ironstone replied to Barquentine's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I predict Canada's economy will be mired in mediocrity as long as the current government remains in power. I also predict Mark Carney will be pulling in hundreds of millions of dollars thanks to all of his Brookfield-oriented policies. -
Did the Biden/Harris administration offer a reward leading to the arrest or capture of Nicolas Maduro? Search Yes, the Biden-Harris administration has offered a reward for information leading to the arrest or capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. In August 2025, the U.S. government announced that the reward had been doubled to $50 million. This move was part of the U.S. strategy to combat what they describe as Maduro's involvement in drug trafficking, labeling him as "one of the largest narco-traffickers in the world." Maybe Trump should claim the reward?😉

POLITICAL PREDICTIONS FOR 2026
ironstone replied to Barquentine's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I'm skeptical because of what he has publicly stated before. And Bill C-69 is still in effect. Search Assist Mark Carney has stated that "as much as half of oil reserves, proven oil reserves need to stay in the ground" to meet climate goals. This reflects his stance on the need for significant reductions in fossil fuel use to combat climate change. He's not Elizabeth May in disguise. Carney is motivated primarily by greed at the end of the day. He doesn't like Canadian oil but he's fine with foreign pipelines. Constantly harping on and on about net zero, but has no issue with deforestation in Brazil. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-63681617 https://www.westernstandard.news/news/hypocrite-climate-carneys-firm-sold-deforestation-linked-farms-in-brazil/62967 -
POLITICAL PREDICTIONS FOR 2026
ironstone replied to Barquentine's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Did you really believe that Mark Carney would actually allow any new pipelines to be built in Canada? -
My point was, what if Maduro is found not guilty? Or found guilty but the judge overturns the verdict? It will be in New York so there is the anti-Trump bias to consider. A Democrat appointed judge in Minnesota overturned a $7.2 million fraud conviction against Somalians despite the verdict of the jury.
-
If Maduro is to face trial in New York, what happens if there is a Democrat appointed judge presiding over the case? 😉 That kind of judge may see this as an opportunity to stick it to Trump.

Expropriations/Nationalizations of U.S. Company Assets During Chávez’s presidency, Venezuela pursued a broad policy of nationalizing key sectors of the economy (especially oil, electricity, steel and other industries) and expropriating private foreign-owned assets: Oil Projects – In the Orinoco Belt starting in 2007, Venezuela required foreign oil companies to hand over majority control of operations to the state oil company PDVSA. U.S. majors like ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips ended up losing control of their Venezuelan oil assets after failing to agree on new contract terms. Their assets were taken and nationalized. CiberCuba Cargill – A major U.S. agricultural company saw its rice processing assets seized during a wave of nationalizations. archive.ph Williams Companies – Another U.S. energy firm had a gas plant taken over by the state. archive.ph Helmerich & Payne (oil rigs) – Eleven oil drilling rigs owned by this U.S. company were seized under Chávez. This might be a bad move by Trump or a prudent move. Only time will tell. There were over 50 countries that did not recognize the Maduro government as legitimate.

Does this qualify as a full blown war or is it more accurately characterized as a limited military operation at this point? People said the same thing when the Trump administration bombed the nuclear weapons facilities in Iran but it doesn't seem like the US and Iran are in an actual war now. I don't know how this operation in Venezuela is going to play out in the long run but I hope it works out well for the people there since Socialism failed...yet again. I don't recall what I said exactly about Trump not starting wars. I know at some point I pointed out that Putin was much less aggressive when Trump was in office compared to other US presidents.
