Putin Dummying Another Dem President
ironstone replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Trump let Russia have whatever it wanted? Do you have any thoughts on the Nord Stream pipeline? You assert that "Putin's stooge isn't in the White House anymore of course he's going to ramp up hostilities" That statement is partly correct. Putin and all the other bad actors will be more emboldened because the US now has a very weak, inept leader in the oval office. You're actually making that point nicely when you admit Putin is more aggressive since Trump is no longer in office. US foreign policy decisions under the current administration may largely depend on Hunter's business dealings. -
I think a much easier path to winning elections and staying in power in the US would be for the government of the day to drastically weaken the integrity of the voting system such as not requiring ID in order to vote. Also if a government was desperate to hold onto power they might call for an open southern border and just allow unrestricted mass migration of unskilled people, many of whom may not speak English but will be encouraged to vote for the government that allowed them in. What about the spread of Covid by unrestricted mass immigration? Apparently Covid can only be spread by legal US citizens and not by illegal immigrants. The very idea of trying to overturn election results or keep someone in office with mere hundreds of people is ludicrous. The tactics mentioned above are clearly the way to go.?

4500 jobs lost in BC. So this action won't lessen market demand and at the end of the day the lumber will have to come from somewhere. Kind of like the current oil and gas industry in Canada and the US. Both the Trudeau and Biden governments are strangling the oil and gas sector...but they have to still depend on outside sources for said oil and gas. At a greater cost of course. The future target will be those same 4500 loggers that might be making electric cars. Electric cars also consume resources don't they? Is the end goal to have all of us living in caves?

Lot's of unanswered questions about the Jan 6 riot. It should never have been allowed to happen but it seems that there was about 1000 involved in the actual riot while a much larger number of people were just protesting peacefully. Ben Shapiro Just Lights up Malcolm Nance When He Pushes False Jan. 6 Narrative – Republican Daily According to this next link the Biden administration has still not released thousands of hours of video evidence. What role if any, did undercover agents have on January 6? Tucker Carlson: Government agents may have helped organize the Jan. 6 Capitol riot | Fox News Any citizen that did trespass and commit any other criminal acts should of course pay the price under the law. Can anyone explain why Biden supporters have been allowed to burn , loot and riot with near impunity?

At that time years ago when the Taliban were forced out in Afghanistan, do you remember seeing the images of so many women thrilled to not be forced to wear the burka anymore? The burka was still present during those years but it wasn't as bad as under Taliban rule. Afghan Women Disappear Under Burqas Amid Taliban Advance (rferl.org) To be clear, the burka is the only so-called religious symbol that I would be happy to see banned. If I have to deal in person with any government official or even a cashier, I want to see their face. Masks for covid are something different as it's supposed to be for everyone's personal safety. Afghan women’s defiance and despair: ‘I never thought I’d have to wear a burqa. My identity will be lost’ | Global development | The Guardian
-
I think the law goes too far. If they would have just banned the burka I don't see that as a bad thing at all. Because we are talking about precious spoiled Quebec most politicians are having to tread extremely carefully in order to not offend or lose votes in that province. It's kind of a catch 22 for progressives, very similar to their belief that people of colour absolutely cannot be racist.

There have been countless "published papers" on man made climate change over the years. Many wild predictions have been made in the past by scientists and many of these predictions never became reality. Like virtually everyone else on this planet I am constantly bombarded with climate change alarmism. It comes from politicians, billionaires and Hollywood celebrities, all of whom have huge carbon footprints. We are told that there are more tornadoes and hurricanes than ever before. More severe flooding. Global cooling? Then global warming? Now just all encompassing climate change? There is no 97% consensus among scientists as it turns out. Another false claim endlessly repeated. Biden linking tornadoes to ‘climate change’ called ‘utter bullsh*t’ – ‘Directly opposite to the clear observational evidence’ – Dec tornadoes not rare – Tornadoes blamed on global cooling in 1970s | Climate Depot Governments getting even more control over our daily lives and wealth redistribution are much more prominent in the future.

Yes more videos. You searched for climate - Stossel TV (johnstossel.com)

Hey Michael, does the planet only have about 10-12 years before we all die? Are you totally on board with that assertion??
-
So you're saying you don't believe the science? The “science" makes a lot of different claims based on a lot of different lines of evidence. You can't "believe" all of it because it's full of inconsistencies. Do you believe the scientific data that shows less warming than predicted by climate models? Or the science that shows hurricanes aren't more frequent or more severe? I certainly don't believe alarmist interpretations of the science that cherry-pick computer simulations and try to frighten us with implausible worst-case scenarios. A better question is whether you mainly believe the models or the data, because in a lot of key areas they disagree with each other.

I've touted this website on here before and I'll do it again. Climate Discussion Nexus Lot's of articles and short videos about climate change alarmism. Yes there is a large body of data but it get's more actual scrutiny here. You may be surprised. Yes the climate is changing , just like it always has.

Putin Dummying Another Dem President
ironstone replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Putin has been more aggressive with Democratic presidents simply because they can be pushed around more easily than Republicans. There was a time when there was little to separate them when it came to standing up to foreign adversaries.Think Truman or Kennedy for instance. Biden does not in any way, shape or form project the image of strength. China, Russia, Iran, North Korea and the rest know it. -
What should not be in dispute is that Democrats in the modern era typically dispute election results at most levels without the MSM blinking. The Republicans, or some Republicans and also quite a few others are suspicious of the 2020 election. I accept the results but continue to be very suspicious of how it went down. Lot's of coincidences , all of which happened to fall in favour of Biden. Move on with life and fight the next battle. As for Hunter and Tucker being friends I say so what? If they are it's not a crime to be friends with a shady character like Hunter although one could easily pick better company. Tucker also continues to actually mention Hunter's shenanigans on his program unlike CNN, MSNBC and the rest. Hunter's crooked deals are a legitimate news story.
-
I'm not sure why this is a real story at all. I don't get to watch Tucker Carlson every night but I do recall him saying on one of his past shows something to the effect that he likes Hunter Biden and that he's a likeable guy. With all that crack and all those hookers we know Hunter is a partier. I'm pretty sure Tucker Carlson has also talked a lot about Hunter Biden and his repeated laptop fails as well as his undeserved highly lucrative business dealing. Tucker will probably address this so-called story on his show tonight. Now if anyone shows evidence that Tucker is also heavily involved in Hunter's deals then that's a big story.?

Ontario needs to invest in EVs as a realistic Option.

No argument there, his video titles can be very misleading but I still enjoy most of his content. -

Governments at all levels are always crying that they need more revenue streams and ever increasing amounts of tax dollars. So it's a pretty safe assumption that the price of electricity will keep rising and rising like they did under Kathleen Wynne. It probably will involve governments tracking us in our cars as the cell phone companies track our phones. As for Scotty Kilmer videos, I wouldn't call him a doddering old fool. He does have strange mannerisms but I think he really knows his stuff. Licensed mechanic for decades and he actually has a masters degree in anthropology of all things. For a lot of automotive stuff his videos are pretty good. -
Are you impressed with Joe Biden so far? The Afghanistan withdrawal? The allies were not happy about how it happened and the end result. Some apparent contradictions with Biden and his military advisors on that one. The Iranian deal is another question, it all depends on who you believe. I didn't think it was a sensible deal and Iran will pursue nuclear weapons one way or another. I think it will be easier to do while Biden is president. Biden has also imposed lumber tariffs against Canada costing Americans more money. Operation Warp Speed started under Trump by the way. Yes Trump's personality rubbed a lot of people the wrong way but he showed he's not afraid to speak out against America's rivals. Biden will not largely because of son Hunter's lucrative business dealings.

With regards to Biden's speech impediment, I think it has much more to do with his declining cognitive ability. I take no pleasure from this either. I saw it happen with both my parents and it's unpleasant to say the least. Having said that, there is no way Joe Biden should be the commander in chief. My take is that the other Democratic contenders (a pathetic bunch, save for Tulsi Gabbard) just stepped aside because they were promised the role of pulling Biden's strings behind the scenes. Biden is clearly not in control of this administration and not the one making the decisions. The state of the US today is largely thanks to Bernie Sanders policies that Biden has adopted. I'm not sure if Trump will run in 2024 but from what I see the Republicans have so many great candidates to choose from if he doesn't.

I sure didn't see this coming from within the Trudeau government. A bit of honesty? Trudeau Liberals admit electric cars are impractical and 'not realistic at this time' | The Post Millennial -

ironstone replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Electric cars may indeed be the future but will anybody openly admit that the cost of electricity is most certainly going to go through the roof since governments will have to replace all that revenue from gasoline taxes? It's still very unclear what will generate all that electricity either( should be nuclear) but as we already know environmentalists are going to be impeding common sense solutions. Fast charging may also be a big hurdle to overcome as it may increase the risk of fires and shorten battery life($$$). -
I have no problem with peaceful protests which DON'T impede the general public in any way. It does not bother me if climate change alarmists stop using oil and gas and stop enjoying enormous benefits derived from them. If they want to have a carbon footprint that is absolutely zero that's fine with me.( David Suzuki should not be the poster boy for climate change zealots.) There is no need for violence or destruction. Or fearmongering. Historic Flooding That Happened Before | Climate Discussion Nexus

I wish the anti-Trump hysteria would go away but it won't. Certainly not anytime soon as long as there is the chance that Trump will run again in 2024. He was not the best President but neither was he the worst, not even close. In the modern era I would put Jimmy Carter at the top. In his short time in the oval office, Joe Biden is already a contender to knock off Carter for that dubious distinction given his disastrous record to date. Personality aside, Trump's record as President was pretty good in my opinion. As I've said before, racism does exist in America but I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as they make it out to be. Quite frankly it's the political left that is constantly fanning the flames of racism in that they blame white people for all the problems of the world. Joy Reid epitomizes the idiocy of the anti-Trump hysteria and race baiting political left. Here's a great article about Reid by the way. David Suzuki is in fact very wealthy. A few years ago I checked what his reported net worth was and at that time it said $24,000,000 US. There is a lot of money to be made by these climate change alarmists. (Ezra Levant also stated that Suzuki owns at least four homes. A lot of consumption for one environmentalist. )

There are nuts on both sides to be fair. But if we compare which side has more crazies, it's not even close. Hands down it's you guys on the left.
