Prior to this federal Citizenship Act, it was not clear who was a Canadian. Pierre Trudeau passed this act.

In 1976, we Canadians adopted a federal law defining citizenship. If any person is born in Canada, the person is Canadian - has Canadian citizenship. (The only exception is children of diplomats.) BTW, we Canadians can also have several passports.

1. I recently watched this movie, again. It stands the test of time. 2. Irony. Often we the audience knew what was happening but the characters did not.
