User, I disagree. I think that you are on the cusp of understanding an important epiphany: children matter.

Mark Carney is in Armenia, talking about integration with Europe. As a Canadian, I can have accounts in a Canadian bank in US dollars and trade on the NYSE. When it will be possible for me to have accounts in Euros, and trade in Frankfurt?

It is more problematic. The US IRS recognizes our RRSP as equivalent to their 401k. The US IRS does not recognize our TFSA as equivalent to their Roth. Hence, withholding taxes. === Mulroney was smart and negotiated the RRSP equivalency. When Harper created the TFSA, he did not negotiate well with the Americans. Incidentally, our Canadian RRSP far predates the American 401k.

User, You strike me as a young person who lives in a trust society, and has no knowledge of old age.

I entirely agree, Moonbox. ==== But since men die young, I generally suggest them to take CPP early. Women? Who are they saving for?

I was surprised to learn that he had died. Recently. He smoked a pipe. Parizeau and Lévesque smoked incessantly. Morin was born in 1929. Trudeau Snr in 1919. These guys were all a product of the collège classique. ===== I never met Morin in person. I recall meeting Jean Marchand in a parking lot in Ste-Foy. Jean Chrétien, I met several times.

Alberta, where Canada’s doom will be decided
August1991 replied to paxamericana's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Canada? As I have often thought, if Canada joined the US, Toronto would just be another Detroit. But Vancouver, Calgary/Edmonton would be different Montreal? The Big Easy North. -
In Montreal, the gasoline price is over $2/litre. We sell electricity at 0.02 per kwh locally while the foreign price in Boston is 0.16 per kwh. Heck, we buy the electricity from Newfoundland at 0.005 per kwh.

Huh? I was not born in August 1991. ==== Quebec had two referendums (votes) on its participation in Canada. Albertans (Canadians) have no idea what will happen next.

Red in Ottawa, Blue in Quebec. Off island Quebecers have a practical Norman sense. They will not vote for the PLQ - despite the change to Milliard - what a name! ==== I have not done the 125 riding numbers. IMHO, Fréchette does not change anything. -
Herbie, how long did she wait for the first scan? Our current health system is based on triage. But such a system can be gamed. ====== Heck, maybe Saskatchewan is a high trust society (like Tommy Douglas). Canada is no longer such.

Americans vs Canadians -What's the difference?
August1991 replied to August1991's topic in Canada / United States Relations
My money? Think real. Delivery Van. I ask you: where would you put a delivery van, motorcycle dropped from a rich Uncle: America, Ecuador, Russia? Canada? Germany? In Ecuader, Russia: Stolen. Canada, Germany? Too many regulations. America? My delivery van will generate profits, and the van will not be stolen. -
Barbara Huston is a classic example. Morality is based on poverty.

Pour l'instant. On va voir.

Référendum en Alberta ? Franchement, personne n'en parle au Québec.

Carney vs Trudeau Snr: The Difference

During the Cold War, Trudeau Snr the federalist discussed a "contractual link". -
Herbie, What is the cost of an MRI in the US? === Gemini: MRI scans in the USA typically cost between $400 and $12,000, with an average of about $1,325 to $2,600, depending on the body part, facility type, and insurance coverage. Freestanding imaging centers are significantly cheaper ($650 avg.)
