  1. They have similarities and differences, which I outlined. What is the problem in understanding that exactly? Trudeau doesn't commit violence against political opponents. He is a corrupt bully who punishes dissent. Trudeau unethically pressured the AG to get a corporation in the city of his riding off the hook legally, and when she wouldn't do it he punished her with demotion and replaced her, then when she blew the whistle he spearheaded the effort to get her kicked out of the party, then lied about it. Are the Russian oligarchs treated much differently?
  2. Trudeau is not Putin. He doesn't murder political opponents. But Trudeau isn't an ethical politician, he did hardly anything against Chinese election interference that benefited his power until it went public and then he tried to block any investigation, his punishment of JWR's whistleblowing of his own corruption was abhorrent, the minor crimes the freedom convoy committed (illegally parking in the street, noise nuisances, blocking a bridge) does not legitimize his abuse of power by using the Emergencies Act. Putin is much worse than Trudeau, but they're both power-hungry and controlling narcissists who punish dissent and don't respect democracy. They lie constantly and don't want to be held accountable for anything. People who generally support either of them are crappy people in my estimation.
  3. It's not perplexing. They're sheep.
  4. It's a fact that Russian disinformation campaigns etc tried to sway people to vote Trump over Clinton and Biden. You think that makes Trump upset?
  5. The people that defend Putin have been manipulated by Trump and the pro-Trump media pundits to support him, even though he's been aggressively anti-West for decades. Trump likes him because Putin helped get him elected and they're both narcissistic domineering bullies.
  6. Don't forget freedom to live in a tent, freedom to wait a super long time to access healthcare, freedom to commit crimes with lesser sentences, freedom to have your phone's location secretly tracked by the government during COVID without your consent or knowledge, freedom to be coerced into getting vaccines you don't want by the government, and freedom for China to interfere in our elections etc But yeah, marijuana
  7. There's a lot about the UN that is really dysfunctional and corrupt, which is sad. I imagine this is why Stephen Harper didn't seem to be much of a fan. When most countries in the world are 3rd world autocracies run by crooked dictators it makes things a lot harder.
  8. Totally agree that it's much easier to sit and criticize, and much harder to actually manage a country and come up with good solutions and implement them yourself.
  9. Tucker is no fool. He knows exactly what he's doing, and I don't at all trust his motives here.
  10. Well somebody voted the Liberals in 3 elections in a row.
  11. I don't blame Trump for wanting to make NATO members pay their fair share. The US has been going broke from its massive military budgets while Canada and European nations use their own tax dollars to fund many of social programs for their citizens to enjoy. It's not fair for Canada etc to freeload off US military protection. He's probably just saying that to get them to move.
  12. The government are the ones driving up the price. They're the ones who have drastically increased immigration and foreign students, and they're the ones who have allowed people to buy up investment properties to cash in on the housing price boom with any speculation taxes to disincentivize it. They're the ones who have created the red tape that makes building homes harder. Nobody should blame immigration and students or even people buying 2nd properties for investment, they all just want a better life. Blame the governments whose policies and mismanagement have done this.
  13. The Crown is Canadian. The monarchy is Canadian, it's a Canadian title. "Royal" doesn't make it more British.
  14. Do you think the Quebecois want to fly a flag with a big union jack on it? This country isn't just about English Canada. The French were here long before the British, that's also a part of our history. It might surprise you that the French don't like living under anglo/British domination, just like many anglos in Canada wouldn't like being ruled by a monarchy from France or wave a France flag around. History is good but it's also good that we feel united as Canadians, not British or French etc, and it's a tough balance.
  15. They've been trying to cancel Eminem since the very start of his success. Good luck.
  16. I fully trust the intentions of Tucker and Trump regarding Russia and Putin. Although, I'm only saying this so I don't get thrown out a window.
  17. You don't put your name or any personal information on an election ballot. Do they put their name or any identifying info on the ballot?
  18. Only 5 were arrested. There were more involved. The size of the protest is irrelevant. Why didn't they arrest the truckers or the indigenous protestors blocking railways across Canada the year prior? The same laws apply. When people do illegal things and won't leave or comply with the law you arrest them. The only difference between small protests and larger protests is the fear from politicians and police of a PR backlash if things get messy. Deescalation is good, but when it doesn't work and someone resists arrest you're supposed to use the minimal force (violence) necessary to force them to comply. Let's pass a law to make government including police grow some balls and do their jobs.
  19. Nobody should be blocking traffic or public infrastructure (ie train lines etc) as a form of protest. Stop turning this into some silly "right vs left" competition. There's already laws against this sort of thing, they just have to enforce it, no need for new laws.
  20. Yesterday. https://ottawa.ctvnews.ca/group-calling-for-national-firefighting-agency-splashes-paint-on-prime-minister-s-office-in-ottawa-1.6759655
  21. Systemic racism against Caucasians, males, and straight/cis people etc is legally codified in the Charter of RIghts. A south asian business only hiring south asians is not. I'm a radical who thinks all discrimination is wrong.
  22. If I were a car thief or any criminal i'd vote NDP.
  23. I'm glad the Liberals are having a national summit to sit around and talk about another important issue to make it seem like they're trying to fix it while not having to actually bother doing anything about it. Also #DefundThePolice
