The only thing you seem conservative about is your desire to a return to an era when people were more civil. Most if not all of your social views are mainstream progressive. Even your economic views might be called "progressive". Argus and BC2004 and all the other conservatives on MLW have socially conservatives views that you don't share, and probably many economically conservative views you don't share. So calling yourself a "conservative" is at best confusing to others. I'd call you a polite progressive.

Israel should abide by international law, that means abandoning illegal settlements and leaving the West Bank. Gaza blockades should be maintained, as humanely as possible. Create a path for easing blockade restrictions based on medium to longterm "good behaviour". Israel should have highly militarized security on the Gaza border. Anyone who crosses the border from Gaza without authorization by land or air should be killed on sight. Limited military engagement in Gaza by Israel to eliminate Hamas/jihadists and rocket sites when possible while minimizing civilian casualties as much as possible.

Hamas murdered 1,100 people on Oct 7, they launch rocket attacks constantly for the last 20+ years at civilians and they want to murder any Jew they can get their hands on. They're a clear threat to their security, just like Al Qaeda is/was to the West. Israel should leave the West Bank, but as long as jihadists are trying to murder as many civilians as they can Gaza should remain under blockade. The real enemy of Gaza is Hamas. You're naive enough to think the terror attacks on Israel would stop if Israel obeyed all international law. They won't stop until Israel is destroyed regardless of its borders and its been the case since 1948. You're Neville Chamberlain.

A problem is that the well-meaning do-gooders make changes in our organizations based on their own agenda of "social justice" and whatnot, and it's not necessary what most people (who are more moderate than leftwing activists) actually want. And the more moderate majority don't put up a fuss in order to not appear racist/ sexist etc.

This story shows how leftwing activists are dominating even the most respected universities and bullying/threatening a professor who dares to publish evidence that doesn't align with their leftwing political agenda. This is an attack on academia and shouldn't be tolerated. It's an important story and a worrying trend that needs to be combated. We aren't going to stop reporting on Muslim terrorism just because some people think it makes Islam look bad. If white nationalists dominated Harvard and bullied/threatened profs who published evidence against their agendas this would also be worrisome. Would you be complaining about that story? No. 2. One measure of success for academia is how open academics are to express different ideas. If there's enforced groupthink it means some facts are going to be suppressed, which is dangerous for society. The most effective way to convince people of an argument is to silence opinions and evidence to the contrary. By definition this is called brainwashing.

The story is evidence that woke can be like a religion, like Trumpism, and if someone is a heretic the fundamentalists start threatening to throw stones. We live in a society where many on the left and right are out of their minds, emotions rule over reason, and the fringe is more mainstream than ever.
