Mothers shield kids as man gunned down
Cameron replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It all comes back to accountability. If the government can't hold itself accountable for its OWN actions, how can they hold citizens accountable for theirs???? -
Guns don't actually kill people, people kill people. The misuse of weapons is the problem. Banning them won't make them any less lethal or stop criminals from obtaining them. The current hand guns laws in this country are very restrictive. It's the lack of enforcement and our pathetic justice system that seems to be letting people off the hook for anything but murder. It's time to get tough on crime.

Mothers shield kids as man gunned down
Cameron replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This is ridiculous!!! Absolute crap...what the hell is going on with this country!!! I wish people would open up their eyes and realize THAT THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT GETTING THEIR GUNS LEGALY..so banning them will do NOTHING!!! You need to beat some people and send them to jail for a hell of a long time...you get caught with a gun and it's not legal..5 years in prison, no questions asked. -

Gents, I think it's time to crack down. Time for some harsh jail times. No more pussy-footin' around with crime. This stuff is unacceptable You do the crime, you do the time. -

UPS uses NAFTA to stop Canada Post Courier Service

Please tell me you are kidding with that comment.... -
Mr. Duceppe doesn't belong in Canada and should have his citizenship revoked. Someone with a paramount plan to separate Quebec from Canada should not be sitting in the House of Commons in Ottawa. I would personally like to see the rules governing recognized parties changed so that if a party's wants to be recognized in the House it should have to run in no less than two provinces. I would have rather seen the green party at the English debate instead of the BQ.

Do you have any proof that many people in the CPC think he is right? And I would prefer you not use the term Religious Extremist while describing members of the CPC and the passing of bills.

That was a completely sarcastic comment BTW. -

Capitalism in Canada. -
I was talking with a veteran police officer here in Halifax, and the one question I asked him about crime was what is needed. He told me the criminal justice system is the main problem, they can arrest all they want, but the system is just to lenient... Time for us to toughen up...

Geraldo Rivera to sue New York Times
Cameron replied to Montgomery Burns's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Agreed. There is no indication that he did anything wrong. He was helping before the Air Force commander asked if he could help. Useless NYT. -
So we have border guards that are scared for their lives and walking off the job...nice. I don't know who to blame here...but it's your job to watch the border.

OK, Unions of yesteryear were important because they brought about safe working conditions and better wages...But but now they are HUGE organizations that collect millions of dollars a year in dues. They represent people that aren't even in their industry..(look how many people are with the CAW that don't work in the auto industry)... The labour laws federally and provincially are strong today. The only thing unions go after is frivolous things, such as rating hotels that pilots stay at, because they need to meet certain criteria...which is bull, because they are staying at the Hilton...also daily food moneys, which is $52.25... The Unions of today are rubbish.
-
In the way of progress. Too many unions have lost what they were originally set up to do. They have become their own worst enemy, so big that they need to constantly re-negotiate their clients contracts just because they need something to do, avoiding redundancy. I work for Air Canada, some of the horsesh!t that we have to pay out is unreal..useless stuff that is not needed and hold up and mangles proficiency. Unions no longer represent the worker, they represent themselves in an attempt at not going out of business...after all, that's what it is..
-
I hate unions...They get in the way.

Can you provide a link regarding the criticism? I've never heard of the Sask. gov't being criticized about budgets...
