I'm sorry, I'm going to reply. Gimme a break. There was a bid put out by StatCan and Lockheed Won it, simple. It's just another ploy by left-wing Canada to bitch about America. What does Canada not taking part in Iraq have to do with Lockheed and software for a census??? They have been around for 60+ years making military equipment as well as civilian equipment. This is people with too much time on their hands and a bone to pick with America because they are not planting flower gardens in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Slowly, but surely pushing their agenda upon us.

I have Lockheed Martin stock, and they are in my gold book. I love them. Drop away LM! Oh my God, head for the hills!!! Ah, there is the reason the left doesn't like it, efficiency. Gravy!!!

The BC Liberals are really the Conservatives. If the BC Liberals screw up then they discredit the right wing option in BC and allow the NDP to get elected. In short, it is pretty dumb to presume that you must despise any party that does not have 'Conservative' in its name. I was kidding. I'm poking the fire that's all. I just don't want to see another Montreal that all.

Oh the Olympics again...my least favourite topic. You know, I don't really care what happens in BC. They will probably screw it up, they always find a way to screw things up. It probably won't make any money, and will probably go over budget, there is a Liberal government running the joint after all. I didn't watch any of the games this time, I did when I was younger but I must say I have lost interest over the years to the point where I would rather watch Martha Steward bake tarts and muffins. I hope the athletes do well, just like I support our troops over seas. BC, good luck with it all, you won't be getting any of my money and I probably won't watch them.
-
Thank god they are over! YES! Back to normal life. Congratulations to all the athletes...now get back to work.

Oh yea...I'll fight to keep what we have here. There is no f-ing way I'm obeying THEIR law...ass h*les

No jobs for University students? This is what happens when you elect Liberals for 13 years....

Gents, gents. The big problem with the US and UAE and their ports, is that the owner or operator (in the US case it would be the UAE company) is in charge of security within the terminal gates. When the ship is away from the dock the US Coast Guard is in charge of security, when the goods leave the terminal security is in the hands of local (or who ever) enforcement. So the big debate is concerns that an Arab company has control over the security at the port and of the goods. Every governor except Florida's as made an objection to the UAE company taking over control of the ports. That includes Governors that are Dem and Rep. Florida's Governor is Jeb Bush, FYI. I don't think this is the case here in Canada. But don't quote me.

I'm awestruck...I'm speechless. Socialists actually LOWERING taxes...should we call Guinness Book or Records or something? -
Well, all I have to say about the Olympics is that I'm not a big fan. I think they cost too much money, don't really accomplish anything anymore, and take up valuable time. Aside from that the private sector has gotten its hand on them it has taken away from what they were. They were originally set up to show case personal triumph and country pride. Now they are drug ridden, commercialized, and costly (both on the person and host city/country). The fact that Canada doesn't really support our athletes is another point. They are their representing Canada, but Canada doesn't really support them. They are like labour unions, passe. Wadda you think?

Dirt on the Conservatives goes here.

I heard he wants to put in SCUD missle launchers on the lawn from Iraq, as a "Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda" -
I'd have to agree. The other night I was chatting with a Muslim person I know (I wouldn't call him a friend, just an acquaintance). We were discussing the cartoon debate, and I told him that it is his right to protest but not to resort to violence. He agreed with me on both points. I told him that I thought the cartoons were not that offensive and that they were drawn in a humorous light, as are most cartoons. I then asked him if he has seen the cartoons himself......no, he was afraid to look at them. Well, isn't that nice. So you are protesting and writing up petitions to send to the federal government to get them to condemn them, blah, blah, blah, blah (at this point in time I didn't really give a shit what he was going to do) on something that you have been TOLD about (not seen personally). Well that just doesn't agree with me. If you are gonna protest, you should know WHAT you are protesting about and make your own decisions about it. Not what someone SAYS it looked like. This just re-enforces my view that a lot of these people are cattle and just follow on the words of someone else.

Why didn't Canada join in an uneccessary war?
Cameron replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Iraq is a dump that should have been cleaned up in '91. They just lied to get through the gates. -
I thought Russia was finished with the military thing....hope they don't put the missle on ebay.

I guess it all comes down to who tolerates it better. Christians will petition a certain news paper and make it public that a cartoon smearing Jesus is unacceptable and demand an apology. Where as this situation has been a little blown out of proportion. The threats and world-wide anger towards the Danish people and the news paper seems to be a little over the top. When you print something, you have to take responsibility for it. But making death threats against the illustrators is something that should not be tolerated, and I hope they do not back down because of fear. As August said, you have to self censor and take into account other peoples feelings when writing or drawing something. With this cartoon depicting Muhammad with a bomb under his turban does lead us to make stereotypical assumptions about Muslims and Arabs. The respective groups should be mad, but making threats and coming close to violence will only re-enforce those stereotypes that were originally conceived when the cartoon was drawn and published.

This is garbage. Denmark is a free country with free-press, therefore they have a right to publish whatever they want. Just because some Muslims are not used to free press because their country restricts it doesn't give them the right to threaten the people of Denmark because of the cartoons. Even the fact that Denmark mulims complaining blows my mind. WE ARE NOT ALL MUSLIM. This just goes to show you how intolerant Islam is to criticism and other non-Muslims. When you are taking Danish products off the shelf because of what a privately owned news paper does, is ludicrous. I don't see Christians out in the street every time someone publishes a cartoon about Jesus, or the Jews getting all up in a frenzy because of some ink on paper. This is a disgrace and another notch in the anti-Muslim peoples bed post. I'm paypaling Lockheed-Martin.

Calm down kids...remember No left-wing posts!!!!!! :P:P First off, I hate poor people. But they are good at menial tasks and aren't really concerned with education because their union rep will take care of them....ok kidding, kidding. There is a place for unions, but it seems today that they are turning a blind eye to how a company is performing and just concentrating on their workers benefits and rights, which are important, but means squat if the company is not making money. We have seen this with Airlines, Mills, etc. There are many examples. Unions need to start working with companies to make them more efficient, gain more worker training to limit the number of jobs that are outsourced to countries that can afford to pay their workers low wadges (compared to us). We need less government in this country, we have enough, too much if you ask me. With a more competitive economy and the more jobs that are created there will be less of a need to enforce minimum wage, as there will be sufficient competition to garner higher wages. I want to live in a country where it is encouraged to make money and attain wealth. Let's de-sovietize Ottawa and put more economic power into the provinces, as this is where the jobs are. Create an environment that encourages individual provincial control over job creation and economic prosperity. Put the power back in the hands of the people, and get it away from the blokes in Ottawa. People would rather work than get hand-outs. More jobs, more people spending money, more tax dollars collected... PS - I think the CBC is a reincarnation of the TASS
