  1. Most people have little or no idea of actuality regarding political machinations and simply follow the (seeming) media lead like a bunch of brainless sheep. Welcome to Canada my friend...
  2. Geoff, you will be welcomed down here with open arms! Dal law is a good school.
  3. Well, after the votes were counted we found out that we had lost. Sitting in a chair at the HQ of CPC Candidate Andrew House we conceded defeat over Alexa McDonough. The one thing that did bother me was the amount of votes for Marin Mackinnon, a relatively unknown Liberal. The CPC campaign had put in 100% effort, from news conferences, to lit drops, to debates. We ran an awesome campaign but saw only minimal gains. The Martin camp didn't really do a whole lot, and they were rewarded by the Liberal sheep that populate this city. It is disheartening to see so much potential wasted because "I've always voted Liberal". I guess we are a culture of defeat, and it really showed here in Halifax when the passed up on a young, promising candidate. Even though the CPC won nationally, I'm a little in the pits today because of the bronze medal we won. Andrew will be back...so we will all be working behind the scenes.
  4. Thank you! That is one point that I've always liked about the CPC when I was first looking into what party to join. It's time to stop with the overburdening parent and let the kids make some of their own decisions.
  5. Wrong country pal.
  6. Why did you hate him? His Deputy Prime Minister Don Mazankowski said that his greatest accomplishment will be seen as, "Dragging Canada kicking and screaming into the 21st century." -From Wikipedia
  7. Thanks for the pro Liberal post. NAFTA gave us some of the best economic times that we experienced in history. There was an option to re-negotiate the agreement but the Liberals made small changes and re-signed. The GST dug us out of our deficit hole and replaced the MST that was built into the price of goods and was a headache for accountants. Some of the policies that he created are still in use today. He won two majority governments.
  8. I'd like to discuss the lack of youth in politics. There seems to be an overall hate for politics among youth in this country. Many time when I'm at the door canvasing I get the old "I don't really care about politics". This is a portion of the article that was written in today's local paper about youth. And Cameron Craig, is me in the article (hence why I'm using it )
  9. Montgomery Burns, I'm proud to live in a country with you! "Castro-admiring Trudeau"
  10. Speaking of Leaders from Quebec, didn't Martin say last night that he was from Quebec??? If so, where was he born?
  11. I don't know...he seemed too "VOTE NDP!" for me. He was like that in the last election. He kind of goes into these uncomfortable poses. He is like that Video Professor person on infomercials...too "Buy ME, BUY ME!"
  12. What I thought. Martin = Same old song. All show and no go. Duceppe = Like his attitude, not afraid to challenge the others. But still a separatists. Layton = Looks like a salesman desperately trying to get you to buy the NDP. Harper = Too stiff, garbled the message. He looked uncomfortable on stage. But over all I didn't like the format. There seemed to be too many bated questions, you know. You are dammed if you do dammed if you don't.
  13. Are you f-ing serious...If so, I'm writing my MP...oh wait, that's Alexa Mcdonough so I might as well just write a letter to myself.
  14. I'd like to take this opportunity to personally thank Logitech for making the center scroll wheel. River, you gotta compact your posts, no one is going to read that...sorry.
  15. I hope this is good...I can't wait. It's like a movie..only better.
  16. Social Authoritarian 2.3% Economical Libertarian 31.8% Centrist-Capitalist
  17. It was, then all the voters got higher wages and moved on to the Conservatives...

Or Grand Canyon massive? Like when the Red Sox won the World Series But Jack, you just said you want to work with us!! What do you want!!!! MMM, Always nice to see the love....Next week when the polls change...so will the direction of the NDP rubber chicken gun!!! The Source
  19. For talk talk purposes, what Canadian party does this more align with?
  20. I didn't know that before I signed on!!!!! Is God real too?!?!?!
  21. I really just wanted to chat with the old gang from back in the old days when not too many people posted....that's all I really wanted.
  22. Hmmm, gang murders, innocent people being killed....Rock Machine v Hells Angels ring a bell to anyone???
  23. I've met him to. A nice soft spoken family man. He chatted to us about Halifax and how we liked living on the east coast. He mentioned that is was very beautiful and needed to get over here more often when he wasn't working. He also talked about policy and answered questions that we had about different platform agendas. He than thanked us and moved on to talk to some other people. Over all he seemed like a pretty decent guy. Everyone has their faults. If you are going to base your decesion on that, then you are pretty shallow.
  24. All I can say after reading that is....quoting from Mr. James... "You poor misguided Canadian bastards"
  25. Happy new year to all!!! I hope that the new year is good to you and you succeed in everything that you do. And remember, God loves everyone! He told me!
