  1. No offense but would it really be wise to appoint a moderator who openly declares allegiance to a particular party? I do take offense. I wouldn't moderate based on political views. I would moderate based on forum rules and etiquette. If you start to smear or attack someone, I will edit your post or tell you to stick to the point. My posts and moderation will be separate.
  2. There has to be something more to this. I'm going to email the party to try and get more information on this. Because, as it stands, this does look like a contradiction to their platform....
  3. Maybe we don't live on the same planet or even in the same universe, gerry. But Layton said, "I think the door is open to moving something forward." Let's not waste each others time. Layton is quoted as saying that Harper lacks "urgency". In light of that, my description of Layton saying Harper doesn't take Global Warming seriously enough is quite sound. Jack Layton is the leader of a fourth-rate political party. He is lucky to meet with Harper. He should be glad the Cons. are even tabling an environment plan....
  4. Yea, from that article I gained a lot....stop reading this crap form the MSM. Look at the whole plan first, what is actually written down from the Finance department. If any of you are CA's, please stand up and give us your professional opinion.
  5. I personally dislike the CBC immensely. I think we should keep it just for hockey and sell the rest to Mexico...with an adjustment to to the budget of the gargantuan elephant of course. There shows are boring...news is boring...pretty much all of it is boring...
  6. Jesus Gerry...they've been in for less than a year...give them a break will you. This stuff takes time...it doesn't happen overnight. Maybe if the Liberals knew how to run a country we wouldn't be in this predicament.
  7. Greg, what safeguards are in place to keep in check people that register as to eliminate trollers and product peddlers?
  8. Greg, if you need help, my offer is STILL on the table...think about it please.
  9. I'll pipe up on this one... Personally, I hope they send 5000 troops, and all the CF 18's, all the leopard tanks and pound the shit out of the Taliban.....With these people you need to strong arm them, there is no negotiating with the taliban. They want us out, and that is that. The price for those Leopards is ridiculous. In no way are Leopards useless tanks. For the price that they are paying, we can use them for this mission and scrap them. In the article they mentioned a lighter more versatile mobile platform. That platform unfortunantly turned out to be unstable when firing and moving at the same time. My brother is in the military and he has told me the Leopards are an intimidating sight and sound. Regardless if they are suited for this mission, they are a nice touch to the troops on the ground. They will provide more firepower than the LAVIII's that are currently there. On the other hand. The government needs to lay out a clear mission statement on Afghanistan. They need to set a time table and meet it. If that means sending in more troops and equipment to get the job done, do so. Without security there can't be any progress.
  10. I guess they are free to do whatever they want now....including making TV shows....
  11. My god...that is a lot of people....
  12. My brother put it very well the other day when we were chatting it up. He said 'If someone came into your home, took away you valuables, personal items, beat you, and told you what to read and how to raise your children, how to dress, and what religion you had to follow, took away all your choices and ability to make your own future...wouldn't you want someone to come and help?' I think so. Everyone in this whiny country wants "Canada to be a role model". Well, being a role model is more than just talking about being a role model, we may have to get our hands dirty to make the world a little bit better. I support Canada in Afghanistan, I support our troops, and I support a better future for the people of Afghanistan.
  13. Hopefully none.
  14. Thanks for calling my brother a terrorist... Thank god they are a fouth-rate party.
  15. Can someone please point out this thread...
  16. The C-17 is a very capable aircraft for the Canadian Armed Forces. Currently we do not have capable in-house strategic airlift capability. With the purchase of these aircraft it will give Canada the ability to move its equipment around the world without having to rent Russian aircraft to do the job. The reason that the production line is being shut down is because there are no new orders for the aircraft. The USAF has not made any new requests for aircraft, they plan to keep their current order at 180. And if you think that buying crap-boxes and upgrading them works, just take a look at the illustrious subs we bought. The European aircraft that was eluded to in a previous post is the A400M from Airbus. This aircraft has not yet been produced, and thus lacks real world testing. Plus, Airbus isn't doing too well with new aircraft designs, on-time delivery and quality (do a search on the A380, you will find that they are behind on delivery, and they have has some quality issues). Below are some specs on the C-17, C-130, and A400M General characteristics C-17 Crew: 3 -- 2 pilots, 1 loadmaster Capacity: 170,900 lb (77,500 kg) of cargo distributed at max over 18 463L master pallets or a mix of palletized cargo or rolling stock (vehicles), or 102 troops, or 36 litter and 54 ambulatory patients and a medical crew of 5 ( two flight nurses and 3 medical technicians) The two center rows of seats can be removed for cargo. 18. Who ever said anything about selling the CBC? I know it sucks. I have the channels blocked on my TV because it sucks so much...
  19. Idealist Get a clue... What, you expect me to be serious AND do research...phhhttt. Maybe another time.
  20. In my opinion, the left is what is WRONG with the world. Conservatives are realists, lefties are Idealists....here is your passport, the gate is to the left.
  21. It's not fact yet. And if they did, as stated before they will probably fix the problem.
  22. I thought the same thing. I was expecting a story about people smuggling oranges across the border or something. Damn! It's funny, everyone says 'who cares, it's no big deal about two men getting married..we have been over this in Canada'. If it's no big deal, why was it front page news down here....again, who cares.
  23. Boro, get lost. Caring level for your problem....0/10.
