I hope PM renegs on the election promise, god that would be good....I'd be in heaven...."Another promise bites the dust.." hahahah

I'd like to add to the conversation...This is free enterprise. Mr. Walton saw an opportunity and moved on it, the "American Way" so to speak. I personally don't like walmart, mostly because it's always busy and I don't like the way they do business and treat their suppliers. People wanted cheaper prices on products and the market responded with volume and low over-head, aka box stores. The suburbs started to grow and this is where the box stores started, feeding the demand.

What pisses me off are the retailers that are now charging $.30 to use debit..so I get dinged twice, by them and the bank, nice eh. I guess they can't figure out how to work it into their prices.

He probably bought the computer he wrote it on at Staples of Office Depot....

Layton lacks ability to govern rationally.
Cameron replied to shoop's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This is happening because too many people want their cake and eat it too. They want high returns on their stocks and cheap prices at the pumps...but it doesn't work that way...it's the lack of compromising that is the problem, everyone wants it all and no one want's to give it up.... -
Agreed, and collecting all the remaining penny's can be a job for the NDP...

Canada Defends Its Sovereignty In The Far North
Cameron replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Buy some ice breakers, warn people that they are invading sovereign space and if they wish to continue they will be blown to oblivion....done. -
This is what happens when you put comen sense and human rights aside and run your country on religion...absolute rubbish in my view. They will probably find out the hard way (the killers and backwards people) that they are not admitted into heaven...it's like going to the airport with a knife in your carry-on...see ya.....

Harper Sees The Light. Now Says Needs NDP Support
Cameron replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
In the words of David Brent..."wa'eva" In all seriousness though, this is....new news...let's just say that. -
I've lost confidence in Harper...He isn't doing any good for the party, he is too much of a bean counter than a leader. He would be good as an MP in a powerful position (finance or something).

Anybody watch FRONTLINE on PBS. I like that program. They seem to give a balance (as best you can) report on stories. I also find the presentation appealing, not full of sarcasm like some news casts or reports...

I think I know what NPR is, but I forget...please inlighten me...

Where are you going with this, THELIBERAL?
-
I might not use the f-word, but if you are not going to listen to what people are telling you it tends to get on peoples nerves... Mulroney actually won on the promise of GST and NAFTA...(I think) in '88, The only reason people didn't like him the third time around is because they had to take a hit in the beginning with the GST, in the end it did pan out and made us more competitive on the international market and enabled us to control the debt. The reason it is still here is because it's a cash cow for the government, no mater what party is in, they will keep the GST, they will just make promises about where the money will go....

Write your MP...

Click the link and you will see that in ONLY the territories is the GST higher than the provincial sales tax when determining the price of gas...so how is the GST to blame? Shouldn't you go after the provinces? http://www.caa.ca/gasprice/images/img_gasgraph.gif

Jesus, Lib, are you f-ing retarded....Read my whole post!!! They (PC) said "We are going to bring in the GST"...and they did, people didn't like it, but it was implemented. Chretien said "I will get rid of the GST!".....well, it's still here...soooo, where is the logic??? Please explain where you are going with this???? If you are complaining about the GST, why are you complaining about it???? If it is so bad, why is it still here??? OR are we reaching beyond your intellect?
-
Yea, the PC's said they would bring in the GST and they did, The libs said they would get rid of it and I'm still waiting....

Today where do you get your news from?
Cameron replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The net mostly, some News Paper (local), and some tv. For the internet I use google news. As per the description below, it is probably the most balanced way to find articles from many different sources. -
Microsoft hand in hand with an orwellian world
Cameron replied to Technocrat's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
From the article, it sounds like it's more of china's finger on the sensor button. Microsoft knows that China is a HUGE market, do you think they want to piss off the government and not get a piece of the pie....yea...It's all about the bucks man. Microsoft isn't in the business of starting cyber revolutions...
