Well get really, I heard on the news that a Con in the US is going to run for President in'08 and he is VERY PRO- AMERICAN, and is for a fence on both, the north and south borders of the US. Problem is they don't have the money for the fences! BTW, I hope Ford wins Tennessee!

The real question is...how are we going to pay for this war, which the government is now expanding?? The government boost about paying the debit down but the debt will go up in time because of this war. Harper has ordered equipment that hasn't been paid for yet, but, will in the short term and then taxes will be going up or more social programs will be cut again. The minister of defense said the war will come out of the "general fund" where now excess IE funds go.

Anyone thought how much damage has been done to the earth by the wars we've had, especially, WW2, Nam, Korea and the Middle-East wars now going on!

I read about Strauss and the one guy in Bush's group that really believe in this philosophy is Paul Wolfawitz or "the wolfman" and he's now the Head of the World Bank. Another way to describe this is "World Order" or the most power nation or nation running the world. I was beginning to wonder if Harper has the same way of thinking and that is way he feels the same way as Bush. The only thing is, I don't think Canada would be high on the list of ruling, do you??

So if Harper knew that the US wouldn't apologize, what do you think Harper will do when dealing with the US and their subs in northern waters that we, Canadians, say is ours?? Will he talk aback and forth, then say ok, you win, but keep a low-profile so no one knows!!!

Harper and Baird keep saying the the Lib senate holding it up but there Cons too are and they should. This is a very serious and I've watched the committee asked important questions and they need to take it slow to get it right for ALL.

How can we know what the Cons are spending if the only answer the Treasurer Baird gives when asked, is to turn the answer around to what the Libs did in the past. We know what the Libs from Quebec did, NOW I want to know what THIS govt is spending !!

McKay did say it, I heard him say it , although it was in the background, he still said it and this does reflect on his own character as a person and as a minister. IF he's able to lied about this what is he able to lie about the war in Afghanistan or any other things that comes up in this ministry!! The PM isn't much better by not taking this and clearing it up rather than just let it alone and thinking it'll go away on its own.

This morning while channel surfing I came upon C-pac and there people were debating some sort of financial debate. The Conservative said they had a surplus of money just sitting around doing nothing so they put it towards the debt. That's good and fine but I think its time to cut more taxes for Canadians if money is" just sitting around '!! The NDP Martin asked the government if it has closed the last of "offshore tax" write off that mainly used by the rich in the country. His reply was that there was so much to do and they would get to it sometime in the future!!! Yeah, how many years will go by until its gone. The taxes aren't fair and its the rich who are in government that abuse the system! Its the "middle-income" tax payers that pays for this country and they should demand more of a tax break, no matter if they are single or married!!

The scam by SOME LIbs is just that. Its NOT the whole party its members ALL from Quebec and I think people believe this province is full of corruption! NO one can say anything about the present seating Libs but it seems the Cons have their own problems and in question period, it surfaced today about monies apent on a trip to the US and the two guys didn't declare it or what they did there. Honest and open, yeah right!

Anyway, I don't care who said it, Mckay knows better and so does Harper but hey, what can you expect from these two guys since they went behind the back of PC's and created the Alliance/Cons party! Don't blame this on the Libs or any other party BUT the Alliance/Cons.

You don't need smoking of anything or drinking to live your life. Smoking todays tobacco, does nothing but make you sick and rise the price of healthcare and drinking isn't much better unless you are a "social drinker" and never been drunk more than once. I think you will see in the future if you abuse your body by drinking, smoking, eating , whatever, YOU will pay and NOT the taxpayers of this country.

The problem with this war is the way Harper handled it. HE made the decision with only a minority government, to extend it without debate over it. To see him on "Question Period" it doesn't seem to bother him of the soldier coming back in caskets. Yeah, he says the right things but I don't find him very genuine. on this topic.

I'm not sure this is a Liberal idea or more Ignatieff idea! I've read on the net, the US plan to take over Canada sometime in the future and what better way to do it then bust up the country starting with Quebec!! First start with Quebec, then go after the west, especially Alberta who has talked about separation in the past. I don't like this guy and I hope he's NOT elected as leader because he is NOT a LIBERAL, more a troublemaker!!

What goes around comes around and Harper just may be experiencing that phase by the time The Bloc leader gets done with Harper! He said Harper isn't being fair with the transfer payments to Quebec and I suppose the rest of Canada feels that way,too. So.... what will Harper do?? He's worked so hard last year bringing down the government ,will HE say he's sorry and give up the money or will McKay say he's sorry first??? "Question Period" is going to very interesting on Monday and the rest of this week!

In the Alliance/Con government you will notice that the people who are seating in the front rows or acting government are what society calls them "Generation X" This generation governing the country, is totally different from what we are use to seeing. Some lack respect, I wonder if they can spell the word or know what it means. McKay knows he's in trouble, but just like Mulroney did , keep deny it ! I would say to Peter, as a member of Parliament, do the right thing and say your sorry for saying or what you made people think you referred her to. I hope the Speaker comes down on these guys, the country IS watching and perhaps the world! Peter would you really want to be with a person that doesn't want to be with you??

From what I've read, Canada has 2200 in Afghanistan and they are all in the south were the Taliban are, so this part is the most dangerous area of the war. The other nations of NATO won't send any troops there except the US and the US is using what they have there already. A British General has said this war will probably go on for 20years. Well, since Canada has only 2200, I doubt if we'll be able to finish to 2009. I see the military running out personnel for this war and IF any govt brought in a draft then be sure they be gone! There will be also some soldiers who won't be able to return to duty if they are found to have a "mental health" problems as with the US in Iraq. One thing I don't understand is why fight the Taliban? When they were in power they stopped the produce of opium and outside of their way of looking on woman, which alot of the Middle-East countries do, what to say, the present govt won't turn out the same. Look at what they were going to do to the Muslim that turn Christian and they were going to kill him! I think this war will turn out like the Iraq, a mistake by the Bush government that didn't think before they went in, but couldn't be talked out of it. either!

I guess the only way I could some it up is...Rona said the Libs plan wouldn't meet its targets and with Rona's, most Canadians, won't meet 2050!!!

A British General has said that Nato will be there for 20 years! Now, how much in debt are we going to be in and how many troops will be survived for that length of time? The Defense Minister has said that the money for Afghanistan is coming out of the "general fund" where the IE excess also goes. SO Canadians, don't lose your job because there may not be any IE for you!

I was shocked but thought it would come when Turner went up against Harper early in the new government. This also reminds me of what happen to Bush's first Treasurer O'Neill, when the people around Bush decided he should go, when he didn't believe in the foreign policies on Iraq. and othr monetary polices. So next question is.... what is the Alliance/Cons hiding and don't want us to know????

I agree with you on Rae. I've decided NOT to vote for the party but the person this time around. As far as that Ontarians hating him, I think Harris has taken over that position. Rae did the best he could for the times because of the recession. I want to see Harper to look across the aisle after the Liberal elctions and see Rae standing there with a big smile on his face!!!

I agree this guy is out. I think Ignatieff is another Bush lover and wants to help the US to control Canada! IF he gets in I wouldn't vote for the Liberals!
