Well, first of all, how far along did Harper know this conference was coming up? HE is the PM of Canada and aids is affecting Canadians and this is a world-wide disease and if we know anything about Harper, its he goes were HE wants to! He could have stopped in for a very short time let people know he supports the conference, IF he does, and then gone on to the North. All this is part of being the PM of this country. Sometimes they have do things they don't like doing and go were they don't like going. I suggest to Canadians, don't expect anything his THIS PM and you won't be disappointed.

We never had a "war on terror" until GW Bush appeared and I'm wondering if there could be a possible connection to Bush and others to this and not Osama bin Laden. When 9/11 happen, we had the US showing and saying in translation, that OBL was admitting he did it. In my own research, I found that twice OBL came forward and said he DID NOT have anything to do with the killing of all those people. One, its against the Muslim religion to kill women and children. I also, found that the CIA has friends in the Middle-East that would make certain tapings and supply a guy who looked just like OBL. This is soooooo confusing and I realize that the CIA is guilty of alot of things, alot more than we know of. So the next question would be WHY? One reason I found was that the US/CIA, Mossad/Israel, Zionist plot, to basically designed to cause a war against Islam. I read that there's 1 billion of Muslims in the world and if this is true, there's no way one is going to get control over these people. Of course, one nation or more, could pull a "Hitler style" type of getting rid of reduce their population. How many people in the Middle-East have died since Bush invaded and started his war on terror?? As Canadians, I believe we shouldn't go along with the US, until we know for sure, what we are getting into. We, as Canadians, are not aggressors but peacekeepers, at least we were. So, in ending this, I would like to know have any of you, have any doubts about 9/11 or the war on terror? I have found alot of info. on this too, but I don't to make this message too long to read, so what is your opinions??

Canada needs to thin out the exports that goes to the US and market them more to other countries that will deal fairly. The US has problems with every country in the world, they HAVE to win on every challenge they encounter, no bother, if they know they are wrong! This is become more apparent, since Bush has appeared. I guess when daddy is a member of the Carlyle Group which is one the one largest PRIVATE investment companies in the US if not the world. This investment club has investment in EVERYTHING! It also holds Canadian companies and financial institutions. They also don't like people talking about them.

Well, if you think TO is a mean city it may get even meaner! I heard that the garbage that is doing to get reduced by the Michigan dump taking TO's waste! Toronto NEEDS to get rid of its own garbage's like the rest of us do! The past govts haven't done a very good job at this and very soon, you may see garbage not collected cause they can't find a place to put it!

I just read on a website, that Israel is using "phosphorus" bombs, which are hitting the people and not the enemy. Poor children are getting their bodies burned to the bones by this! So. I wonder if the US gave them these as well of the "busters" bombs.

I'm not sure if we should be there fighting. First, why are we really there for?? To drive the Taliban out. Why? They were good enough for Cheney and Bush to hold talks with, against the UN rules, about a pipeline and oil! All of a sudden, the Taliban want to change the "legal tender" to Euros and BAM! US is invading! I'm for helping the people of any country but when the President of the country, was replaced by the US and that person worked for US oil company, it starts you thinking. I think Canada may regret going into this war, which is plainly the US's for their own purposes.

When a Dem was the US president, we didn't have problems, BUT Bush is so different from the Republic president of the past. He came to DC to do regime change in two countries and his attitude, sometimes isn't very presdiential. As far Canada, I've always thought the the US shouldn't be our lead country of exports or imports. Its big world out there and I'm sure we should expand out horizons. Canada is a very liked country and I hope Harper doesn't change that by getting too close to Bush, who isn't very well liked!

IF you look at it by the evidence of science Gore is probably right. If you look at it the way Klein does, which is the making of huge amounts of money from the sands, one can understand why he said those things about Gore. Whose right??? Both, I guess, a bad and poor environment can kill people and too much money can lead to nasty things too.

There are certian subjects that the governement has no say in what Canadians do or don't do. This same-sex marriage is one of them! This is between two adults ,usually and what do I care or even should care. They are not hurting me or anyone else. There more serious subjects, that the government needs to attend to and this is not one! They are Canadians citizens and should be treated as such, not anymore than you or me but not any less!

First of all. not ALL media is "liberal" as you would like most of us to believe. Secondly, HArper did do something that even his friend Bush hasn't done and probably wouldn't do.... share his plane with other citizens and got them out of danger. That's one for Harper, if he did it out of the goodness of his heart.

I hear HArper is practicing what the Cons in the US do. keep telling the country how bad the opposition parties are and how good you are. Use the radio and TV programs to keep sending the message over and over again, and if the people keep hearing it, maybe then they will believe it..NOT! NOT this country! At this point, I don't think ANY party should have a majority government, especially this one! Maybe we should keep tabs on how much money this guy is spending and for what.

You may think that is a stupid question since the CIA has come out and said it was OBL who did it BUT if you check the FBI most wanted list , OBL is there, BUT is wanted for terrorism OUTSIDE the US. The bombing of the US embassy overseas. I just finished reading an article that said the CIA created a "fake" OBL with the help of their friends in the Middle-East. The more I read, the more I'm beginning to think that there a lot more about 9/11 and the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. I know the CIA is a powerful unit and with the right or wrong President, the CIA has done alot of illegal things in the past. I also, found that some of the 19 highjackers, one died even before 9/11 happen and others were not even in the US. THe ones inside the US did so by the CIA help. So... could this have been done by another country and blamed on OBL? Who benfitted from 9/11? The US govt is not answering alot of questions and there is more to this than they are willing to say.

I found an article about why the US went into Afghanistan and Iraq. Apparently. in 2000 Hussein had changed from the US$$$ to the Euro and the Taliban were in the process of doing the same. Now with the US buying their oil from this area it would mean the US$ will end up less then the C$, and they didn't want the rest of the OPEC oil countries to do the same so they decided to scare the OPEC countries by going into the 2 countries and taking over then and putting some leader in that would keep the US$$ instead of the Euro. Britain, was at the end of its oil and they also didn't want the monetary value in Euros. The US is using it military to help the oil companies control the oil industry in this area. SO. this war is about oil but more about the US dollar and its value going down if the Euro is replace against the US$. Now, let say this IS the reason for going into these countries, do you thik Canada should be there now????

You know I think the "true" cons are going to make sure the "Alliance" members toe the line, even if the member is a former PC'er! The leader and alot of the Cons are "alliance" and I think they are the ones calling the shots and I think Harper has made alot of people angry within the party.Maybe Garth is thinking ..No way is this "former Alliance" PM going to do things and make the Cons look bad. Maybe one day the Cons will want to separate from the Alliance and take over! Please bring back the PC'ers and leave the "ALLiance out in the cold with the Bloc!!!

I knew something like that was going on. I knew the the US congressman Frist, had been up to see Harper and that how the Cons, in the US, control the Dems. The Con radio programs do the same to the Dems, they never talk about Bush, they just keep talking bad about the Libs". Well, this isn't the US and Canadians are far wiser than Americans and let Harper have his time, because time will run out for this govt. Just go and watch C-pac and "Question Period" and see who has the smart mouths in the parliament. Harper may call an election this fall or next spring and I say"bring it on" this guy gotta go!!

Does this mean we can't say anything hasty about the politicans or Bush?? We can't say that our PM , whose not really cozying up the the US president, is going to the White House for a 60th birthday bash with Bush??OK, I didn't say! Or Yahoo.ca all of a sudden, quite putting forums at the end of their "news reports". I guess we aren't suppose talk about the new govt. I guess I shouldn't talk about how the US used satellites, directed from Belgium to spy on Americans.

All I like to say, is Baird should take some of that money and get a new hair piece, it was ugly when he was in provincial govt and its still ugly in the Fed govt where he going to make more money!!!! When another party comes down on another for wrong doing, you better keep your backyard crystal clean and NO excuses! By the way, the Libs that are sitting, have nothing to do with the scam created by Libs from Quebec. Cons should move on and try to govern and quit bringing up the scam and it was majority of Canadians that kept the Lib in 13 years, that another things Harper can drop too. Lets see if he can be in for 13 years!!!

There's lots going on in Canada and the US that people don't know about. I've read were the NSA used satellite through Belgium to monitor US citizens phone, e-mails etc. I read were the CIA asked Canada for info on Canadian bank accounts, (they were looking for terrorists) . I also notice since Harper has come down on the media, that Yahoo.ca has taken away the "discuss" option at the bottom of their news pages. I e-mail ask why and got back a "bush reply" alot of nothing! They didn't answer my question ! There's too many secrets in this govt for a govt that said that they would be open....NOT!!!!

I'm sure Harper is getting advise from Mulroney and he is just biding his time until (he hopes) to get a majority govt and then you'll see another "Mike Harris" go town and destroy everything HE doesn't like. I, for one, think the people of this country should keep the "minority" govts in place for a while! Perhaps, that's is why Harper has gotten 3 of Harris stooges in his govt. Harper is doing harm to himself by keeping the media away, if we don't know what this govt is doing than its probably something we won't like!!

Yeah, that's alot of money! I heard the spending on the military,which is needed, but the equipment won't get to the guys in Afghanistan for 3 years, which we are suppose to be out of there, aren't we?????? The really big aircraft will take 6 years to be delivered. Lets go back to "peacekkeeping" its cheaper and doesn't cost as much in Canadian soldiers lifes! By the way, how many KNEW O'Connor was waiting for Parliament to break before announcing all this???? Noticed how they gave themselves an increase in pay to cover expenses living in Ottawa. What about the rest of the people in Ottawa who could use a hike in pay. Wait until the Fed. workers contracts come up and want a raise!!!

I'm not sure what to say. I know they plan to spend 15 BILLION on the miltary. I wonder is the reason for the "war expenses" is coming out of the "general fund" is because the govt can't really afford the war and the equipment. I just think if Harper had tried as hard to get along with the Libs, their budget would have made things alot better for people than the "CONS/ALLIANCE budget. I really don't like the comments on "question period". It seems everyone is "acting" for the cameras and seeing who can come up with the best line. I wonder if any of them has hired a "comedy" write???? Just watch Blair and how he handles his time to answer questions from England. I caught once on CBC and was really surprise how well he handles the questions unlike the Canadian politicans!

I think most Canadians don't HATE America, I think they dislike George Bush more and his govt by going and invading another country for their owns reasons and putting the world in a mess today! After Nam, people craved peace in the world and although there's been bombing against the US ( I wonder why), the world have been a peace mostly. Now, Bush went and invaded a hornets nest and now will peace ever return to this world. What gets me more, is this guy could have gone to Nam himself to defend his country but did he NO! So now he's president and sends other were HE wouldn't go!! I hope American can get it's respect back and I can't wait until his redneck is gone back to Crawford!

Isn't the US a republic?? No thanks I like being the "Dominion of Canada". I still don't understand how a political party can be a member of the Canadian govt and want to have its own country? I don't understand, how Quebec can have the Bloc , Libs and Cons, represent it in govt? Why don't we open it up to everyone the separatist and the First Nation too? Now , wouldn't you like to see how the First Nation debate in "question period" to the other parties? If ANYONE is unhappy with this country than go and seek other countries to live in and then you'll come back and say this isn't so bad after all! Canada is Canada and anyone is welcome as long as you don't mistreat this country and will stay Canada! The Maple Leaf forever!!!

Canadian govt became responsible when WE decided we didn't want to be British subjects anyone in 1947. Since the Canadian govt decided this we have no choice to honour ALL treaties, like or not. I, could use the money too, but like someone said a deal is a deal. You must not forget, that there are First Nation who live in the "white Man's world" and pays taxes like you and me. We have to help them make a better life for themselves after taking their ancestors land away and at times cheating them for it. Let's face it, the English and the French didn't treat the First Nation very well and today the UN says we still don't but WE are better than the US!
