I heard an former CIA Operative who had been stationed in the Middle-East say that NATO can't win the war in Iraq or Afghanistan and that the Taliban and OBL are getting stonger in numbers and the only way to stop the bloodshed is for Rice to go to Tehran and get them on a peace mission. Now his reasoning is that Iran hold power in the region and could greatly help bring peace to the area. My question is how bad does Bush want peace?? Would he do anything to get it and save thousand of lives?? If the war doesn't stop the CIA agent said he fears the terrorist will attack the Americans in Europe and inside the US and I'm sure inside Canada, Holland and England. You know there are at least 1 BILLION muslims or more in the world, more than there are people in the west. Think about.

Do you think the Cons have a chance after Harris? Do you like what the Libs have done so far and would you vote the NDP in because you are sick of the other two?

I find the way Harper acts and talks in Parliament is not PM-like and I for one don't like it. Its not what I want a PM to act like. I remember on one forum, the people from the west complained that all the PM always comes from Quebec. I told them to send someone that ALL Canada could get behind by and if Harper is the best, then no thank you!!! He shows no respect for others, I've never seen a PM act this way. When he was the opposition he never tried working with the Libs and now he's PM he causes more trouble running the government. The Libs have treated him better than the he did them as opposition party. If Harper wasn't there we have a more peaceful government.

I like Dion, I think he's loves Canada but the world have born leaders and Dion is not a born leader. The Liberal screwed this and should have pick someone else. Dion main problem is his english and being able to communicate with Canadians. Who do you think the Liberals should have picked??

I see as Canadians, we are doing what the Americans do, accusing the other of being left or right. This war can't be won by the military or by the NATO and that is the opinion of a CIA Operative that was stationed and worked over there. The Taliban are rebuilding and OBL is stronger than ever and the only way to end this war is through Iran and Rice going there and talking peace in the region, as said by CIA operative. I understand why some soldiers shoot and kill innocent people, their nerves are on edge every second they trust no one and they can't. I'm sorry our government felt they had to STAY over there. I like to see Harper over shooting at the Taliban for one day and wonder if he would have a change of mind!! I also, feel if Harper gets a majority government, he will bring in a draft because the military needs 6000-7000 yearly to maintain what it does have and they aren't getting the numbers.

MY guess is the Conservative will talk about but won't do it because its too expensive for the whole country BUT he could give it to the ones that got hurt in the Interest Trust. There is an election coming after all and he needs all the votes he can get. When they lowered the GST, they raised taxes else where, they took 51 Billion out of the IE and they are paying for the war out of the "General" revenues.

I was listening to a CIA Operative on a news show and he said that the Taliban are coming back and OBL is backing them and the only way that the US can achieve peace in the region is through Iran. He said if the US doesn't try to reach a peace with the Middle-East, then there a very good chance the terrorists will come after the US in Europe and inside the US. So I guess you can say that Canada is in the same sinking boat. The terrorist are going to be strong in numbers and he say the NATO can't win this war! Perhaps the military know this and doesn't want the Canadian press to get this info.

A lot of people may believe that this could or would happen but ask yourself, could planes fly into buildings in New York? I believe it could happen especially if Canada has a PM that can be bought by the US. First, Canada would need a PM that is very friendly to the US government. You would need a PM that wants to change laws, more towards the Americans way of thinking. A PM that wants to build up the military for future use????? The US would have no trouble taking over Mexico if it decide to. Canada would be a different manner, it would have to have help from within the government. I say to all Canadians , just watch what any of our government do and watch the secrecy from the press and from us.

IF anyone thinks that Harper is pure as the driven -snow, well, the snow isn't pure any more and Harper and his gang aren't either! One only has to listen to what they say for their answers in the House of Commons. I haven't heard a sane answer from this group yet and when I think about it I haven't heard an actual answer to a question put to them!

Do we REALLY know the money that Canadians will be sending to Afghanistan? There's the 200 Mil, another 100,000 they gave for coats for the Afghan army and there's the 1 BILLION over ten years and we all know that Harper has said he's committed to 2009 but the truth is he's committed for long than that. Harper has taken 51 Bil out of the IE because of the very large surplus. I think Canadians better keep an eye on this government spending, we know of the PC's spending but we don't know how the Alliance spend and Harper is no PC'er or Conservative, 100% Alliance in his thinking!

Have any of you read Harper's bio.? I just read it and it seems Harper started his political view as a LIBERAL and changed it when Trudeau brought in measures on the energy industry and Harper then thought it would hurt the oil and gas industry which he was a part of. Then he turned his back on Mulroney and went to the reform and then alliance and then to Conservative , because this was the ONLY way he could become PM. I thought Bush was alittle mixed up in the head. The only party this guy hasn't tried is the NDP and I'm sure he'll becomes one after he leaves the PM and tries again for leadership.

I believe yes, he going to try and the Congress probably won't be behind him. I've heard different radio talk host believe it will be within two months and he will use the Air Force to pepper the country with bombs. How many innnocnet people are going to be killed like in Iraq! Bush must be desperate to show he is right but he could end up impeached!!

I don't really believe that poll unless it was taken in a Alliance/Con area. I know people who voted for him who have changed their minds for the next election!!

Harper used the Vancouver Sun to do his dirty work for him. His excuse would be, I didn't say this the Sun did. It's just like he did to Goodale over the income trust just before the election. He wanted to leave the impression that Goodale and the Libs were up to no good again, which isn't and wasn't the case. I find Harper over and over again not to be the "Right Honourable PM" and I can't seeing the the old PC'ers doing what Harper does. Perhaps the Liberals should use fire with fire. They should go find out who exactly who is his relatives that are in the oil drilling business, perhaps its his wife's. Is there a conflict of interest here???

The weight problem Harper has he said he always had weight problems. I also remember he had to go on anti-drepression medication or was it panic attack medication? Both will put the weight on a person but hey.. I thought he couldn't wait to be PM so why the mental health problem?? Just another thing he has in common with Bush!

Why doesn't Harper do what he did for child care..... let the provinces do it and give the money to do it. I just wonder how Alberta would bring down their pollution??? I heard that the US is planning to build 19 coal-fired generators for hydro and ALL that pollutions will come up to Canada in the summer winds!

The truth of it is this.... the Liberals under Martin boosted the miltary by 13 BILLION in their final budget, you know the one that the NDP and the Cons brought down!!! We all know that the Mulroney years left Canada in high debt and something had to suffer while the debt was got under control!! We ALL benefit from what the Liberals did with the debt. Canada wasn't at war at the time and how times change! Just watch the debt under the Cons go sky high again!! Of course the military will praise any government that sends to war because after all what is a military for if not to fight in a war. The military brasses don't like to see a military sitting with nothing to do and besides look at the "new toys" they are going to get, BILLIONS AND BILLIONS of our tax $$$!!!

The question of "do Canadians have brains in their heads" means alot of times to the politicans that change laws. The Harris government didn't renew the "auto pact" so now, companies like S.Korea can sell cars here but don't have to make them here. The manufaturing of goods is leaving N. America because of greed of everyone involved but most to pay employees $3.00 per hour. When the oil boom in Alberta is done how will Canada survive as a working nation?? Just like the environment as come to the top of the list, as people lose their jobs, Harper is going to go way down in the polls, the voting polls!!!

My question is how did the NDP Judy ??? know about the income trust wrong doing in the first place. If it was only one guy at fault, how or who tipped her off??

Harper knew that Goodale didn't do anything wrong but the NDP and the Cons just had to for the throat!! The Libs would have been very stupid to even think of doing anything wrong before an election and the TV ads now just show how american-like Harper gang really is!!!

The more I watch Harper and see what he tries to do with the government and HIS way of doing it, the more I wonder if he is a willing part on this North American Pact. One large nation of Canada, US and Mexico and guess qho will call the shots???? I'm ready for an election and toss this guy out. The more he talks the more the other 3 opposition parties are going to be on his side for anything!! Lets bring down the government and put Harpo out of misery!!

While listening to the CTV's interview with the PM, he let it slip that HE has family in the oil business in Alberta. Well, could be that the Harper against Kyoto may harm a family business, or would it harm to one of his "backbenchers" who was a Hyundai car salesman and turn it over to his son to run for now. I wonder how much input this "backbencher has with Emerson talks with South Korea???"

Harpo at times reminds me as a "schoolyard bully" or "spoiled kid" and he show this characteristics at times in question period. He appears to be desperate again, as much as he was when trying to bring down Martin govt. Pity!!! I think most Canadians voters don't like ads as this and WE, ALL know about the FORMER Liberal party and I wish he spend more time on the environment and health care and less time on his panic attacks! Isn't he taking his anti-depression pills?? Something he shares with Bush!

I say the "baby boomers' because there so many of us vs the other age groups. I would think most boomers are the "middle-incomers" and who really are the back bone of financial support to this country. This election will change how Canada will go forward into the future and how we will be accept in the world as far as Kyoto is concerned. I will be watching Harpo how he treats every Canadian, especially the ones that really do need help! Alot of boomers will be retiring soon and if its impossible for alot of them to do so because of higher cost of living, I think Harpo will feel it at the voting polls.

If its true I can see them doing it overseas but from what I've read is, the US and Canada is/has a pipeline going from Alberta to Houston, so it may be alittle harder to take out the supply.
