IF Harpo was smart, which he isn't because he has the former Ontario finance minister that left a 5 BIL debt, he would target the "middle-income" voters. The rich always look after themselves and the low -income is always looked after too, but the "middle-income" always pays. Manufacturing jobs are leaving this country and what is Harpo going to do about that. Good thing there alots of money in the unemployement, because Canadians are going to need it! Can he come up with a budget better than the one Martin had??

Harpo may be up in the polls but so are the unemployment and there are many more unemployment victims coming in the auto sector. I feel the Cons are showing their inexperience in government and so when asked a question is the same-old answer! The Libs are rebuilding their party and from what I've seen all that was connected to the "scam" are history and with Turner, Rae, Kennedy, and Trudeau, new blood is going to make them back on top. Harpo has peeved off too many of his voters and if the Liberals get back their support, the Libs will be back in the PMO.

Why not say, a person goes through school and when they graduate if they can't find a job in their own country the Feds pick up the tab! The medical profession is the only occupation that community will bid for that person by paying their bills, buying cars, houses, anything they want!!!! In Ontario, if the tuition keeps going up then I say to those students, how far would you go to achieve your goal? Just think what would happen if all students decided to boycott a school year. Just look at the people that would be out of work. The province would have to do something about and they surely can't order the students back to class can they???

One thing that the US has done that Canada may have the same problem, if anyone knows please say, and that is the loans that Bush has recieve from China, S.Korea, Japan etc to help pay for Federal expenses. China holds almost 1 Billions of the US debt. Does anyone know if Canada does this too? The war in Iraq is going to hit hard down the road in the US and we here in Canada are going to feel it also, down the road.

I think the vast numbers of voters don't care about the money the parties have. They only care HOW they spend the voters money!! The environment is the front and center and perhaps the Green Party would shock the two other parties and get a minority government!! Boy, would I love to see their faces!!!! I'm not saying this would happen but who knows when it comes to the voters of this country. Perhaps Layton would be smart to join these two parties together, once the Green party had enough seats to become part of parliament. I'm sure the Liberal party picked the right person to lead their party. I like Dion but I rather have seen someone like Rae across the aisle from Harper.

3.4 Billion plus another billion for whatever, they need a huge airplane hangar, what's the cost for fuel with one of these? Do we not only need these planes in a time of war? Is Canada now going to be in war as much as the USA now? How much pollution does war put out, especially these plane on take off. The Canadian military is having shortages with personnel. People are quitting or retiring out, probably for the fact their life has more of a chance of seeing action than ever before, since the Korea War. Watch the spending with this government in the military, especially, since the Minister of Defense was part of the military. It's like kids in a candy store, there always going to have a good reason why they need this or that.

I've been watching the government and it makes me angry that are tax dollars are going to a bunch of clowns who have their own reasons for being there! I say cut their pay checks, better yet have the Speaker start fining then with $5.oo every time he has to quiet them down, and make it 2x, 3x etc every time he has to quiet them!

Change the name "kyoto" to "Harpo" and watch him perk up!! He'll go after the environment as much as he did the PMO!!!

I don't know too many people now that CAN afford to invest in RRSP's. I think the smart investment is now life insurance. Sure , you may not be around to enjoy the invest, but your family won't have to pay taxes on it, YET!! I think the income trust is going to come back and be Harper's GST and more people are going to vote against him!

My suggestion to all is to watch when the govt goes back and see how the parties act. You'll see more bad mouthing come out of the younger ministers, which I believe is held by the Cons.

IF there's one thing the Cons love to do is blaming the Libs for all the problems of the government. When the government goes back to work you see the "court jester" the "NEW" environment minister Baird, make jokes and blame the Libs for the environment. They seem to praise the US for their environment, when the truth of the matter is, in the summer when the winds come out of the south, so does their pollution!! When Ontario wanted help to put the coal-generator out of commission and put in a nuke, the money for it that Martin set aside was cancelled by Harper. Harper caring about the environment is just an act to get a majority government in the next election. TOO LITTLE TOO LATE!!!!!

This is one reason by we voters have to make sure of our vote. For ie. Khan was a former military commander in Pakistan before coming to Canada. Could he not be a double-agent here? I'm not saying he is but we have to be cautious in todays world. Khan also knew that if he ran for the conservatives, he wouldn't have won! The PM needs to be very open-minded on foreign affairs, and govern for Canada not our allies. Harper wanted the PMO bad and I still believe Canada is not ready for Harper. He needs more experience in government and in life!!

It looks like the Canadian people know more about the environment and the damages being done by global warming then Harper and the rest of his gang do!! Maybe he should listen to "coasttocoastAM" or visit Art Bell's website to read why the pros are saying the the US. Everyone knows this is for a "majority" govt in the next election.

Wasn't the Cons plan for daycare was to pay $100 per month to families, tax it back and let others create the day care but take the credit for forming them????????

Where does one start when the topic of this war or Iraqi war is brought up??? Whose right or wrong will only be answered in the future. The Middle-East is so complicated that perhaps we in the west don't understand them enough. I do know, from reading about the Taliban, that the US helped them come to power and also decided to take them out just like they did Hussein. Seems to me, that maybe the US foreign polices should be more carefully thought out. I don't mind helping other countries out, but I'm not sure what the results will be with Afghanistan. There's been money pouring into this country and its not getting to the people only to the govt. Why aren't we seeing more on the news about what is happening there?? I think Harper is keeping a tight lid on any news coming out of there. The US has stopped reporting when an American soldier is killed by only saying a NATO soldier was killed.

Anything that hurts Canadians, the govt sure think once, twice and three times before doing it! I'm sure anyone who was affected by this will not vote for the Cons, if they live in the west or Quebec! I just wonder if any of the govt had money in "trusts" or any of their families.??? I guess not!!

This plan would be a good one, but there are major faults with it. For the home, and the $5000.00 total for fixing up your house to make it energy efficient. The houses built before the 80's , have huge windows and most were single pane. One ie. is a 12ft wide by 6ft length. This window is price at least 5200.00, most other sizes are 6ftx6ft which do cost alot of money. To upgrade a heating system is $2500 -$7500, depending if you have duct work within the house. There's also that alot of people can't afford to bring their homes up to standard , especially those of fixed income. This money the government is paying out is Canadians tax $$ and I feel they should pay at least half of the cost of doing this. Perhaps get more of a tax credit for ever $1000's spent.

The US is saying they stand by their decision by the info from Canada. Well, we now know that Canadian government didn't have any info to hold Arar to make him a terrrorist so in my view, this is to stop any lawsuit from going forward! IF, they do have something serious against Arar, then its in Canada's interest to be told what it is, to protect Canadians.

Anyone heard of H.A.R.P??? Go goggle it and you know that is a form of missile defense the US has in Alaska. They don't talk about it much, its like Area 51.

Those of you who live in Ontario, have you thought of who you would vote for?? I still haven't as yet, still looking over what parties are doing and saying. Since the Harris messed up the healthcare, its kinda hard to vote their way. The Libs, well, I know there's bad feelings towards them, one is the "healthcare tax" some people have to pay. The NDP, I've always thought Howie should be given a chance to be the Premier and to experience the pressure of being one, he couldn't do any worse than the other two! Well, we do have until October to make our minds up and alot of things could change by then!!

We keep hearing that Koyto can't be reached. Well, if the Feds say they can't do it, then give the money to the provinces and let the provinces do what the Feds won't!!!! We all know without clean air clean, people will get sick and die and IF you don't have your health nothing else matters! Has anyone else noticed that when Rona was Minister the environment was on the bad burner and when Haper finally woke up and saw how serious Canadians are, Baird is acting like they have ALWAYS care about the environment. I, say, alittle to late to say they have always care about the enviroment.

Today, Clinton has come out and said that Bush wants to pull troops out of Afghanistan and transfer them to Iraq. She said its a time when more troops should be sent to Afghanistan and pulled out of Iraq instead. Clinton said that the Taliban have plans of a major re-grouping in Afghanistan in the spring, putting more NATO troops in more danger. So, it looks that under Bush, the west, is going to lose two wars.

I, for one, am so sick of this scam mess! We need to find those guilty of their crimes and punish them and then, get on with life. One thing I don't think is fair is to punish a whole party for few bad apples. If that were true, the Cons wouldn't be in power and the NDP would be the only party to vote for! I think Quebec is more to blame for the scam or should I say that Quebec has some really good scammers within its borders. So far all the crooks have come from there. If we don't punish the people who have done the crime, and not the party, than we will end up with only 2 parties, NDP and the Green party, although maybe that's not that bad a thing!

After listening to the US politicans about what they should do about Iraq, someone said that there is a possibility of the US pulling troops out of Afghanistan and sending them to Iraq. This would put Canadians fighting the hotspot of Afghanistan alone. How should Canada react if this should come about? Would this force Harper to bring in our own draft for more troops? Should we look at this again and ask if we should even be there?

IF Layton thinks the NDP could lose against the Green Party, which I think he could because of Canadians ready to vote for the Green Party, I say it would be in his interest to join the two parties together and become the leader because May can not become PM for she was born in the US.
