I guess we all better make sure we all pay our income tax this year, since McKay is giving the Afghans $10 Million for their wages. They haven't been paid for a month, so I guess we know why the President of that country wanted us there now!! We also gave then winter coats to wear, gee aren't WE Canadians nice , to give so freely and unknowly!! For what's its worth, during my many surfing the news on the net, I did come across an article that said that Saudis and Pakistan, were behind the attack of 9/11 and this would also mean, inside job from the US, which I do believe some people did know about it. I guess this just means again no country can trust another 100%!

Well, today we know that Khan has always been a conservative at heart, when he back Tony Clements in his reign for Ontario. We also know he was in the Pakistan military and fought in the India-Pakistan war. We, also know that he was a car salesman, that made it big before turning to politics. It seems to me, that people who want to be politicans, start out as Liberals then cross over to the other side.

It's not hard to tell why Baird will do as this minister. First this "court jester" will surely make fun of the libs, and if the PM says be nice to the NDP, he will only thank them for their input. He'll probably bring in many newspapers or quotes against the Libs past on the environment and say how Canada is the worse of the polluters. This fact may be true now since Alberta has been named the "worse polluter" in Canada. The US is just as bad only they bought credits overseas, something that the former minister blamed the Libs of doing. I have two questions for the new minister, since you are from Ontario, will you give Ontario the money so they can stop using the coal-burning reactors and what will you do with Alberta???

As a voter, I would be very angry with the member who represented me and then decided to cross the floor. I think there should be a law brought in, that if a member decides he has to leave, then he/she should go as a independent until an election is called and then he/she can change parties. By Khan joining the Cons, his interest lies in being on what he thinks is the winning side. IF he wants to be able to advise the PM, then he can do it from being an independent!

Why are we in Afghanistan that is the question. Well, isn't the head of NATO a Canadian General? We all know it was the Libs that placed them there, but for another reason and it is the Harper govt that extending their time there. After doing my own research into this, we are trying to keep the present government in, for the other government, that was in before the US decided to take them out. As one General of the US military said before the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. what's the sense of having a military if you don't use them and they sitting around all the time JUST playing war! I, also wonder who in our government is making any money off this war.

IF the expenses don't get your blood going through the roof, wait and watch C-Pac and see how they defend themselves on it. I imagine it will be Baird and he will turn it around and make the Liberals the bad guys with 13 years of stealing from the Canadians voters! Everytime, someone brings up their spending , they send jester Baird in to make jokes and turn it around on the Libs and they NEVER answer the question!! Bring on the election and we'll save money by doing it!!

The old saying is change is good but I think it depends on what you change. I see the parties changing in what they stand for. Just look the Conservatives. Its a combination of Alliance/Conservatives beliefs, which I really don't think is good for the Canadians. I wouldn't give Harper a majority government, because I don't trust his word and that another part of the change. Some voted not for the party Per Se, but for the person if they feel they are a honest, trustworthy etc. person. I'm not sure of the Liberal party as yet but I do get "good vibes" from Dion. I, also, think that Layton is trying to get things done in government, I don't always agree with him on things though. I would like to know their views on "the new world order" if they think there is such a thing and if they do what is their view? I don't feel good about 2007 and all has to do with GW BUSH. I've read, that after Iraqi, he's still wants to go in and bomb the hell out of Iran and Israel will probably be by his side. I'm not sure how the people of the US feel but I'm sure some will be against this but Bush does what Bush wants and no one in the country is brave enough to stop him within the US government!

I don't think you could find a one person that wouldn't say that Hussein wasn't guilty of the crimes BUT, the way the Iraqi government moved so fast to have him hung! I read on line, that even some of the Kurds members of government didn't like the way it was carried out. The US is saying they had nothing to do with it, it was the Iraqi government. How stupid does the US think people of the world are? They had him in custody, they flew his body to its location for buriel, besides invading, against international law, into Iraq to take him out. You will never see GW on trial in his own country and found gulity for lying about the war, but of course, if he was, he can pardon himself or the next President can. That one thing about America government its really corrupt!!

I'm sitting' here reflecting how Harper fought everyday to take out Martins' government when he was in opposition and how he wanted to be PM sooooooooooo bad. Well, now he has half-as* power, the Liberals have treated Harper alot better than Harper did them. Harper says he likes being PM and hopes to stay in as such. Guess what Harper, so did the rest of the PMs, especially Martin. Please bring the election soon and get it over with so Canadians can get on with a PM that's thinks of them and not of "himself"! I 'm ready for an election, and that is how Harper will be replaced!

Perhaps we should ask why the "need " for US citizen to HAVE to another country's symbol?? The US foreign policies and the corruption of the CIA in other country's affairs is the main reason. I remember watching Oprah, and she went to different countries and asked the citizens why do you dislike or hate the USA. The people didn't have any difficulties saying what was on their minds and why they disliked America. This was BEFORE the Bush era and the hatered for America is even stronger. Everyone knows that Americans are wearing the pins because they think being a Canadian will keep them safe. This action is turning dangerous for Canadians because the people who would hurt Americans will hurt Canadians because they know what the people wearing the Canadian pins may not be Canadians.

Why do you think they are cutting like bad??? The war, that the Cons decided to extend to 2009, which will cost millions if not billions not counting what the military is spending on military equipment. You can't cut taxes and going on a sprending spree even if they have not paid for any of this until sometime in the future!! Canadians only need to look at the US and see how far Bush has gone into the red for "his" war!

It seems to me that the only way these people are going to be helped out by the richer countries is for someone to find the largest OIL deposits in the world, then wars will come to see who gets the oil!!

The US said that Arar was dangerous because of the info they got from either RCMP or CSIS, so why haven't we heard what their reasons for making him a terrorist? Arar was living here in Canada and when ask to be sent back to Canada the US said no and shipped him to Syria knowing for well what would happen to all they sent there. We all know why Wilkins is saying what he's saying, the lawsuit that Arar has against the US govt.

I see nothing wrong with child care, the govt does benefit by Canadians having kids, they are the future workers and taxpayers .The way that Harper has this 1200.00, these couples will be paying tax on that money so they aren't getting ahead of the rest of us.

Yes, Alberta is booming and people are rushing out there to get their share of the riches and I hope they all make good. The downside to this booming industry is, Alberta has now become the largest polluter in Canada, and I don't think Harper's new environment minister will do anything different to change their own province treasures! What about the health of the people working in the oil business and what happens to all the new building, when the all the oil sands are done and gone??

I was listening to the former US Ambassador and he was talking about the US and Canadian military and he mentioned that Canada didn't agree to the "Missile Defense" agreement but under NOAD, if a missile was coming into Canada from elsewhere, the CANADIAN military would step down and let the US military DECIDE WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT!!! WHY would the Canadian govt agree to this and what stops the US to do nothing about it if they have another Prez like Bush!!

Well, my view is if the same people who voted for Harper don't mind what is has done as PM, I guess he has a very good chance of being re-elected. Who among those voters likes the following, Harper wouldn't lower the flag for the dead soldiers returning, firing the President of the Wheat Board and try to vanishing the Wheat Board, favouring Quebec over the rest of Canada, the Environment and its mess, plus lying, he had ideas that would come forth after the first election, the Income trust lies, extending the troopers for 2 years in a war we shouldn't be in etc. Those voters who don't mind any of these, and still vote for him, is, as responsible for what happens to the country and the troops!

If Harper is ready to lose the election, then let see it happen in the spring and then he can go over and fight in the cause he believes in!! That war is between 2 different groups who have abused their own people but the Taliban is less absusive, if there is just a thing. The Taliban stoppped the drug trade while the Northern Alliance, are in the thick of it with many of them being within the government and Canadian soldiers are dying for this. The govt will always do what they want, and so if we succeed driving the Taliban out the Northern Alliance will still abuse their people. We should get out, its a civil war like Iraq is!!!

After the election, an US advisor came up to Ottawa to called to Harper advisng him how to deal with the opposition. If you have been watching the govt on TV you would see how they were told, keep throwing the Libs mistakes in their faces and keep reminding the voters the Libs downfall, learn how to avoid questions that may harm you and keep turning it around to the Libs. What I want to know if Harper a "new world order" kind of guy. Has the US slip some $$$ under the table to be more "friendly" to them??? I don't trust Harper and the rest of the Alliance bunch and by the way they have acted and performed, can you blame anyone feeling that way. They are NOT representing the best of Canada and I'm more than ready for an election!!!

So, the Cons fired the head of the Wheat Board and slowly working to their goal of destroying altogether! I'm wondering how does the US farmer's are going to come up on the upside of this one?? ALL grain growers should be able to vote for this and not the voters the Cons only want !!!

The Premier said the increase was needed because too many politicans were leaving and so to keep them they needed to increase their salaries. I believe if its the MONEY that is drawing these politicans than no wonder this province is in such a state! I believe you go into a occupation because you have passion for the job NOT for the money because if you do you won't stay with it or you will not do a good job at it and therefore ,cost time and money to others!

First of all, no politican is going to be happy with what their making and will always call for increases. There's a time for everything and if Ontario can afford these increases in expense then they can get an increase but a 22%! Harris, if you remember, didn't take the increase he wanted the money for their RRSP's and I'm sure alot of them are ahead of the rest of us! Take alook at their pensions, I heard one politican has collected 500,000.00!! BUT in fairness, the Libs did have to clean-up after Harris and what he did to the healthcare system and thing s still aren't what they should be and I'm sure it will take another 5-10 years to get thing back to 'normal'!!!

Well, I just heard on the radio news, that Rona is going and is probably going to be replaced by the now Minister of Indian Affairs, so is Rona going to be ahead of the First Nation?
